Why rushing your children torioloun!
ing jamb and waec is not enough for 14 years old. Those kids are not really mature enough to withstand the higher institution grinding.

I just checked my son's jamb results now and the response I got was "Result: Underaged and Under-performed"

How? No breakdown of the results to even know how he performed. Jamb's rule is that you must be 16 years on or before 30th September 2025, my son will be 16 years by October 9th 2025, just 9 days away and jamb wants my son to wait for another 365 days because of 9 days.

My plan was to ask for special consideration and exceptional permission. How do I do that when I don't even know how he performed in the exams? Jamb should please give us the full results. We paid for it and we need to see our results.

Why wont your son wait..where u dey rush am.go? September comes before October n your son is stil underage so why u dey para?

He used the New School Chemistry textbook and a mix of Senior Secondary Physics by PN Okeke and the New System Physics textbook published by Africana First Publisher. Also, past questions played a major role, like the 4-in-1 practice questions published by The Solid Solutions and software like TestDriller, which made him computer-friendly and gave him a seemingly realistic experience.

Thanks for the info. But I am inclined to think his secondary school is a good one too with very good teachers. It is also obvious that you are well exposed in these stuff and giving him all the necessary guidances. Great Job , Father and Son.

I appreciate your concern. I am also aware of your fears, but since this is my area of specialty, I will guide him properly. God bless you

His option one is to get a scholarship, but if that fails, I will guide him using study materials and curriculum from either the US or Canada. This is my work, and I have helped a lot of students. Even Nigerian students studying abroad I have assisted; I think I should do better with my son
Great to hear

There is best practice

There is procedure

You are at liberty to hold unto your opinions, but it does not make what is wrong to become right.

Thanks for your observation. He attended a normal secondary school. He is very serious with life and can make any sacrifice to achieve his goal. He used the textbooks to study the concepts but relied more on YouTube videos for a better understanding of those topics. I got some study materials from some schools in the US for him also.

Hmmm. They still use New School Physics and PN Okeke?

Wow.

What's an impressive result!

Please try and do everything in your care to ensure he apply for international scholarship. He's too brilliant to be in a typical Nigerian university settings that operate archaic curriculum and still write code in notebooks

Please, don't cross road with this mentality in 2025🙄

I studied electrical/electronic engineering myself, and I wanted him to study computer science, but he said no.
He will study software engineering because he can code very well with Python.

You na baba
You do well with your boy
Keep encouraging him.

He'll succeed.
MasterTeeUSA: 3:26pm On May 10
I agree that with a result like that he should sit for SAT. IDAGBA Foundation will gladly pay for the exam. He may just get a full ride to study Software Engineering abroad. I know that is what I did and what Bosun A who scored the highest JAMB in Nigeria, my neighbor, did then as well grin

I feel your plight. This clause ought to have been effected even when ing. By this, I mean a person considered underaged should not even have to stress about paying and ing. Accepting payment and registration should mean viable eligibility.

You can try raising your concerns via X and hopefully some influencers can pick it up.

Which plight are you feeling? Is the clause not there before ing the child? Because of the few days remaining to be an eligible candidate, he wanted to cut corners to see if he will be lucky.

See ehn, rules are rules. In UK, My niece kid was denied to go to the next class because of age limit. 4 days difference and he has to spend 2 years in a class.

You guys attach emotions to many things instead of telling him the truth. The guy wants to cut corners and it doesn't work. Now he's crying up and down blaming Jamb.

Please I sent UTMERESULT to 55019 they sent me "underaged and proceeding to stage 2 3 and 4" what does this mean because for other students they were sent "underaged and under performed"

You the father was the one unfair to him, you knew the rules even before he was born so why go ahead to when you knew the restrictions decades before ing? If its for him to do a real world exam scenario that's fine but if its for you to circumvent the rules somehow then its wrong.

Law is law , it is what it is and not what it should be. When the rules changes then we change with it but for now everyone should follow the rules.
What a realistic response 👍👏

since it a standard rule, you should have been patient till next year.
it wont be fair if the rules are bent

JAMB needs to do better. It is extremely demeaning to say that underage applicants underperformed simply because they did not get up to 320 ( the marking scheme is debatable by the way).
JAMB needs to come up with the marks the underage students actually scored. JAMB should also give room for students to be able to challenge results issued by JAMB in some cases. JAMB should stop acting as if it is an infallible organisation. I believe this will promote transparency and ensure fairness for candidates who wrote the 2025 UTME especially the underage candidates

[quote author=lovelybobo post=135300386]I can sincerely relate to your pains. My son scored 344 in JAMB last year and was denied ission because he missed the age cutoff by 14 days.
To the glory of God, I encouraged him to sit for JAMB again. He just scored 359.

JAMB has been unfair to a lot of intelligent kids in the name of uncoordinated policies.[/quote

This jamb of a thing is just another means frustrate genuine brilliant students. Why should jamb be a yest thing, I feel the result should be valid for at least 3 yeses. They are just using it to fleece Nigerians of their hard-earned, scared money.

Congratulations sir, please what's the realistic age for a child who is interested to start learning the coding stuff. I saw where you said he can code very well. How does one even go about it I mean as parents that don't have anything to do at all with tech.

Please share any extra measure you also took. I read all you have posted already just incase there's jara.
General advice for parents who want to help their children achieve.
