He will study software engineering because he can code very well with Python.
Your son is a national treasure. Do all you can to him and protect him from "Nigeria". He will make you proud.

No offense, sir, but studying Software Development in a Nigerian university is a big joke, a huge one, in fact. Your lad is truly gifted. I do not intend to discourage you sire, but if he were my child, I'd advise him and help him see reasons to pursue something Nigerian universities can actually handle. This is not to suggest that Software Development is a poor choice, far from it. I am where I am today because of it. However, I must emphasize that, based on my experience, most Nigerian universities lack the resources and expertise required to teach the discipline properly.
lovelybobo please take this advise. The good thing is that your son is good in writing codes and so he can self-develope in that aspect while studying in a related field that our average Nigerian universities can handle... Maybe Computer Science.

I can sincerely relate to your pains. My son scored 344 in JAMB last year and was denied ission because he missed the age cutoff by 14 days.
To the glory of God, I encouraged him to sit for JAMB again. He just scored 359.
JAMB has been unfair to a lot of intelligent kids in the name of uncoordinated policies.
If he's that intelligent, he should rewrite JAMB when he scales through the age barrier.
You're angry cos the law caught up with him, yet you'll still scream blue murder against corrupt politicians
WTH is ''uncoordinated policies''

You the father was the one unfair to him, you knew the rules even before he was born so why go ahead to when you knew the restrictions decades before ing? If its for him to do a real world exam scenario that's fine but if its for you to circumvent the rules somehow then its wrong.
Law is law , it is what it is and not what it should be. When the rules changes then we change with it but for now everyone should follow the rules.
No mind am
When corruption favors an average Nigerian, they call it ''grace'' & go share 'testimony' in their various religious centres

underperformed means that asides from being disqualified due to age his performance was also below expectations (poor)
The average Nigerian is allergic to taking ability of his/her actions, but becomes bitter when they meet another one more cunning than them.

My son was just 15 on the day he wrote the jamb exams. But the results said "underaged and proceed to step 2, 3, 4", but they didn't display his scores. Now we are confused. Many of his cliques and classmates did very well, are underaged and saw their results.
They saw this message up too - that is , underaged, proceed to step 2,3,4 with displayed results.
What could be the problem? We don't know yet.
Many of the ''cliques'' & ''classmates'' has older ''cliques'' that has greased the palms of exam officials (who are Nigerians)

Please respond to the following:
1. At what time did they announce the age restriction for ission in 2024, before registration or after registration for JAMB? That is the problem.
2. Take, for instance, the golden goal rule in football that Nigeria used to win against Brazil in the Atlanta Olympics in 1996. When was it formulated, when was it announced, and when was it implemented? . Google will be helpful here.
There is a procedure for everything. What is not right is WRONG

I still maintain my two stance:
1:
An average Nigerian does not want to be held able for anything.
2:
When corruption favors an average Nigerian, they call it 'grace' & go share 'testimony' in their various religious centres.

There is standard
There is best practice
There is procedure
You are at liberty to hold unto your opinions, but it does not make what is wrong to become right.

My boy scored 304 and initially wanted to pursue software engineering. However, after I shared a wealth of information with him, he decided to go for Computer Science instead. I work in an IT company, and interestingly, most of our software engineers have backgrounds in Computer Science, with a few in Mathematics. I'm truly glad he made this choice. I am happy you fulfilled your promise to your boy.
Now, I'm setting my sights beyond Nigerian universities. May God bless them for us o.
I didn’t actually promise him anything—lol—but after his WAEC and NECO, he’ll definitely be getting something special from me as a reward.

He used the New School Chemistry textbook and a mix of Senior Secondary Physics by PN Okeke and the New System Physics textbook published by Africana First Publisher. Also, past questions played a major role, like the 4-in-1 practice questions published by The Solid Solutions and software like TestDriller, which made him computer-friendly and gave him a seemingly realistic experience.
Nice one 👍 How can someone get the test driller software?

That's interesting. Encourage him. This is cool. Python is great for stuff like AI and machine learning. Those dudes are the top earners these days. He can easily make thousands of dollars a month with a remote foreign job.

I just checked my son's jamb results now and the response I got was "Result: Underaged and Under-performed"
How? No breakdown of the results to even know how he performed. Jamb's rule is that you must be 16 years on or before 30th September 2025, my son will be 16 years by October 9th 2025, just 9 days away and jamb wants my son to wait for another 365 days because of 9 days.
My plan was to ask for special consideration and exceptional permission. How do I do that when I don't even know how he performed in the exams? Jamb should please give us the full results. We paid for it and we need to see our results.
Don't stress yourself
him again next year

Sorry o. My Pastor daughter who was 16 last year scored 234 but got similar punishment. This year, she participated and got 273. Hopeful she will be given ission this year.

Your son did not meet up with the condition set by JAMB for allowing underage candidates to write the 2025 UTME.He must score at least 320 out of 400.
