gsparks01: My brother It is better than what sachet or all this installers recommend This stuff is a power house As long as your solar is original You can load up appliances all day I am totally enjoying it and no regrets at all. 2 Likes |

gsparks01:But the esscence of getting a power station is to stay if grid,so charging with grid might not be that efficient Try and get a solar now before FG implement there ban. I have a guy who installs here in Lagos if you ever need, He is on this thread also. 1 Like |

noobody:Not quite. I got it for occasions where there's no light not necessarily to go off grid. I work remotely... I got frustrated by that national grid frequent collapse of last year. |

Babatundehy: UPDATE, Just about 5 months and the cloud energy DC fan is dead, worked fine the day before and this morning I pushed the button to put it on and nothing happened, hit it and it started spinning but fan speed was nothing near its original full speed, it is as good as a handfan now, the fan is toast. CLOUD ENERGY brand is not a good brand, stay away from it, I'm thinking about the DURAVOLT 18INCH AC/dc fan now, is anyone using the fan here? Anyone has recommendations on a good brand of DC FANS? 1 Like |

Babatundehy: Duravolt fan is cool at least for the past few weeks I have been using it I hope it's last very well too. Sorry about your fan |
Babatundehy: 2:13am On May 02 |
BigDickProblems: The fan is a waste of money, everything is connected, I took it apart. The DC motor is faulty, the heart of the fan, the fan still spins but its top speed is now like the second speed, and it is a six speed fan, the DC motor CLOUD ENERGY brand uses isn't top quality, apparently. |

Babatundehy:I bought one on Jumia and I returned it the following day, the fan was total nonsense, very fragile and the speed is zero to me. I later bought Qasa AC/DC standing fan, the one with 5 plastic blades. The fan speed is very good just like your regular standing fan. It uses from 18w to 30w depending on the speed. I use it with my power bank when I want to sleep and it drops around 3% per hour on average speed, 2% on low speed. 2 Likes |

okooloyun1: Can you kindly show the power bank pls and possibly, the connection between the power bank and the fan. Thanks in anticipation. |
Babatundehy: 9:18pm On May 06 |
okooloyun1: Yeah it is garbage, i have a few appliances if the QASA/DURAVOLT brand and they have all been working good for years, I should have gotten from these brands but the many positive reviews on the cloud energy fan got me. I got the DURAVOLT 18inch AC/DC fan, waiting for its delivery. Jumia and Konga know what they're doing, you can't go back to your reviews to give an update, reviews aren't editable, many online marketplaces have this function, even JUMIA has a way of never posting up well constructed bad reviews on purchased products, thanks for sharing. |

PraiseGod4u: D2 is currently 630k on konga, Buy it now, Now sure it would ever be that cheap again Buy that one first, then get solar s at your convenience, also before tinuba ban everything 3 Likes |

BigDickProblems:I use Romoss 40,000Mah power bank. You can use any power bank or anything with usb ports that has inbuilt rechargeable battery like bluetooth speakers, laptop and so on. Most of the times, I use my power bank with the fan. The cable is a must if you have a DC fan. I bought the cable N3,500 on jumia but it's around N1600 or so on Temu. 2 Likes |

okooloyun1: Great! Thanks. I thought as much. But I don’t think this can carry you through the night till morning, the next day, especially if there is no alternative like NEPA. I mean, to enjoy your sleep with the full speed at 30Watts, it will take all the 100% from your power bank in about 5hours (148Wh/30W). |
okooloyun1(m): 11:26pm On May 06 |
BigDickProblems: ![]() ![]() ![]() It doesn't drain the battery like that. The fan really makes sense. On full speed, it won't use more than 4% to 5% per hour. I don't put it on full speed because the fan dey blow like werey, make I no use cold kill myself. Sometimes the average speed is much for me. On average speed, It consumes 28% of my battery from 10pm to 6:am everyday. On low speed, it consumes 14% to 16%. |
BigDickProblems: 11:47pm On May 06 |
okooloyun1: Nice. Let’s do the maths better: 10pm to 6am = 8hours 28% from your Power bank of 148Wh = 41.44Wh Fan Power consumption = 41.44Wh/8h= 5.18Watts. Bros how is it possible for your 18inches fan to draw only a power of ~5Watts on average speed? Hmmm. Something is not adding up o. 1 Like |
BigDickProblems: 11:54pm On May 06 |
okooloyun1: Also, let’s look at it from the angle of full speed: You said 4% or 5% per hour, so let’s assume 4.5% per hour. Running time is 8hours. Total Consumption = 4.5*8 =36% 36% of your 148Wh power bank = 53.28Wh Meaning on full speed, your fan consumes 53.28Wh in 8hours. Now, let’s calculate the Power consumption of your fan, i.e how many watts your fan consumes in 1hour: 53.28Wh/8h=6.66Watts Fan Power Consumption = 6.66Watts Bross, something is still not adding up. Or am I missing something? Could it be that there is calibration error in the power bank, and therefore does not show the true capacity instantaneously? Addition If this is what it really is, then the fan is the bomb!. And if you don’t mind, kindly share a pics of it or the model name, so I can look it up and buy. Thanks |
okooloyun1(m): 10:12am On May 07 |
BigDickProblems:I'm very poor in arithmetics, so I don't understand your calculations. I don't know if something is not adding up or not. I used it from 10:40pm to 6am today and it dropped from 100% to 82% on average speed. Since I bought it, I used it with power bank most of the time. |
BigDickProblems: 10:41am On May 07 |
okooloyun1:Wow, pls the fans image. I want to see the fan model and description to know the spec, obviously, it doesn’t consume much. Thanks. |
okooloyun1(m): 1:16pm On May 07 |
BigDickProblems:There are different types of the fan, 2, 3 and 5 blades. Mine is 5 plastic blades. 2 and 3 blades are cheaper than the one with 5 blades. 1 Like |

Babatundehy: This was delivered few days back, the DURAVOLT 18inches AC/DC fan, having used cloud energy for about 6 months before the motor gave up, I have to say the highest speed of the cloud energy is almost the same with the least speed of this DURAVOLT, maybe this is as a result of their power consumption being different, 25watts/15 watts, and the cloud energy being 16inch. I'll update again after 6 months 😆 Secondly, so some solar padi I just made let me try my hands on a Cworth 12.5v 100ah lithium ion phosphate battery, oh well I wasn't surprised with the performance when connected to the Ecoflow to charge through the solar input port, the battery being 12volts, and Ecoflow pulling 8amps, it only charged at 100watts. I have a River2pro that can pull up to 220watts (dc charging )but not from a 12.5v battery. So, the advice goes thus, like I have said before, when you want to increase your back up time by buying a third party battery, make sure you're buying at least a 24v battery, the 12v won't cut it, charging at 100watts is like not charging at all, and the system would eventually auto shut off and you run the risk of damaging the inbuilt battery of the Ecoflow power station if you have a load as little as 80 watts connected while this extra battery is plugged in, not worth it, get at least the 24v. Now, I am looking at this brand making the news, colarsolar, saw a 24v 3.5kwh battery of this brand for 490k. 2 Likes |
