Not recommended, but if you don't have another choice and pipe is not that tight go ahead.
Thanks.

Is it safe to Ac wire/ and Dc wire inside thesame pipe that leads into a building.
I do not see anything wrong with this. My opinion though.

Generally not a good idea.

Tricky. They can pump in the afternoon to handle the evening usage but the morning one has to be handled entirely by batteries.

Also sumos are tricky, since most draw a lot more than their rated output. For example, this 12HP is about 9kw on paper but in real life could be as much as 15kw.

What I'd tell you is to go there and get actual real life data on

- Power draw on each sumo
- How long it takes to pump full

You need a watt/clamp meter for the first one.

Okay Boss thanks so much. I will go there and confirm the power draw and how long the pump normally full

Their best approach is to get appropriate number and sizes of storage tanks and pump water exclusively during the day. Get plenty of solar power and get a little lithium battery to ensure smooth power during the day.

Yes sir. They have enough storage tanks.
Like how many solar s and inverter capacity did you think can handle 12hp in total to pump water during the day. Thanks so much
Emmalex83: 3:42am On Apr 18
HeavenlyBang:

Yeah, it may be better than trying to pump water strictly off batteries in the morning.

That said, it all depends on how much water is used. It's a question of cost of batteries vs cost of buying new tanks plus building the structures to keep the tanks on.

Batteries are relatively cheap these days and something like 45-60kwh of batteries should be adequate in the worst case scenario. That can be had for under 8m these days.

Either way, this entire project is probably going to cost close to 20m.

They have almost 13 water tanks there. The essence of them trying to use solar system for pumping of water is to reduce the cost of electricity bill, they are on Band A . They pay almost 4M on NEPA bill every month.
Emmalex83: 3:44am On Apr 18
Obnoxious2001:

Get a DC submersible pump

That means they will change all their existing sumo to DC submersible pump?
Emmalex83: 3:50am On Apr 18
Trippledots:

Someone advised you to have more storage tanks and pump water during the day for their use, and I agree.

I think it's cheaper to store water than energy. Plus you can save more by using a pressure pump to send water to higher floors instead of constructing huge, expensive structures to hoist tanks up. Whatever energy is left after filling the tanks should be enough to operate the pump.

Thanks so much Boss i appreciate, they have enough storage tanks in the school

It'll reduce the cost of the alternative which is buying loads of solar s and batteries. Not a bad price to pay.

Obnoxious2001:

You will need to consider if they have the structure to accommodate the tank.

By the way that will imply more energy to be spent pumping the water.

They might not even have water when it's needed the most because electricity might not be available.

DC pump/jacking pump grin Na the solution

Thanks Boss. They have all this things in place is just something that will help them reduce the Nepa Bill.
What i needed is a breakdown of numbers of Solar s, Battery capacity and Inverter capacity that can power the 12HP pumping Machine. Mostly during the day. Thanks in anticipation
Mrreed(m): 6:26am On Apr 18
10-12kva inverter x2 in parallel
20kwp facing the south
30kwh battery.

I think It is also better to switch on the pumps one after the other too.

This is an objective question and not a diss or an attack.

What are the pros and cons of purchasing a battery from our guy here Valto versus any other packaged batteries?

I've read here that Felicity batteries overstate their capacity but that Valto states the real capacity.

What other issues play in favor of Valto?

If there are any cons, please share.

Want to make an objective purchase decision here.

This is going to be my first lithium battery purchase and I don't want to get it wrong.

Comments on the below will be helpful:

Capacity,
Cycle life,
DIscharge rate,
safety features,
Build quality

Will be helpful

This list is by no means exhaustive

Hi @ HeavenlyBang, please can you recommend a great alternative to the 14.2Kwh Deriy? Deriy does not have stock till end June/early July. The delay won't work for me. Thank you

Deriy sells the cheapest packs on the market on a w/# basis.

Your next alternative is a pack by Valto, or a battery from Cworth/SMS.

Guys Please I need assistance

I have 12 x 600W Jinko Solar s and 5kva hybrid inverter and 15kwh cwort battery

I want to know if I will need an external charge controller to improve the PV power supply. The PV input is currently very low. I hardly generate anything more than 1.5KW

is no 1 tin wen it comes making purchases on certain equipment and i think valto has dat...

valto has always stated his real capacity on his batteries and no one here has come out to debunk dat by doing a capacity test

safety fetures... except u are considering inbuilt fire extingusher like some foreign packs claims grin i dont think there is any difference between some factory coupled packs and his own...

As for discharge rates, that will fall back to his specifications for his pack.. shud b around 0.5c

Cycle life depends on manufacturer of d cells....dis u will also get to kno from him..

cost wise, valto batteries are affordable...

my own opinion..
