What you are not getting is that, Sheria is a way of life and law is the rules that bind living in the Godly way in islam to avoid immorality.
It's just like normal law in govt constitution.
Lack of law abiding in the country and world as a whole, has led to lots of bad habits which are now seen as good ways of life like homosexual, body peering, corruptions, kidnapping, fornication, lost respects etc.

two things
1) going to church
2)trying hard to impress people
Most of these modern churches don't have God In them, it's just business and slavery,they set up these churches for the sole purpose of profit tithes,offering and the are slaves or stepping stones,they keep pressuring you to bring more to the church in guise of soul winning you will just waste all your time and productive years if you are not careful.
As for the latter,you can never impress people impossible! Stop trying to impress people because it is an endless journey you want to embark on,you will never impress them, I personally don't give a damn! Sometimes last year a lot of my friend and family always insult me saying I am lazy and ambition less they say it the reason why I am not doing well in life .
I heard their advice and became hardworking God willing things started to change for me financially ,money started coming in,did you know most of these my friends and family started becoming envious and jealous ,these are the same people that always advise me in the past now what happened?
My observation about people is that humans love bad news more than good news,people will more excited to hear you went to steal and got caught than to hear you bought a new car,so why worry yourself over people who are mostly sadists ...

Why not choose to go Mosque where you'll enter, pray for just 10-15mins and go back to your business. No one is asking you to pay any money, no one is asking you to bring at all cost, no one is asking you to work for God in the mosque. Just enter any mosque, pray and leave. I started this when I came back from a near death experience, I was shown what would have happened to me if I eventually died. Since that Nov 22. 2024, I have stopped taking alcohol, stopped playing bet, stopped masturbating, stopped womanising and tying to walk inline with God. Sincerely, my life changed rapidly.

Prayer has been even in the days of your ancestors, when they were ignorantly seeking God through a mini god....pouring libations and all that so you don't have a say when it comes to prayers...
Prayer is never and can't be a waste of time, is true you plan your life, but it is equally true you were not born on earth as an adult, so why will you now come and be claiming what you don't know  ?

As we were born on Earth so ignorant, we can only attain some level of knowledge if we PRAY to him that brought us to Earth....
