Please, what is this type of window in the first picture called. I know it is a casement window but not aluminum, but metal.

The second picture and the window above was someone who decided to paint it and changed the glass to reflective glass instead of removing the window and buying/installing aluminum casement window afresh.

Do you think this is better and to do for my window above or just replace?

Any help answering this?

That's Critall-Hope casement windows,
Depending on your concept you can retain it or otherwise.

If you want to totally modernise the building, you can do new casement windows,
But if its a moderate Renovation you can retain.

Ciao. 🤝

The plumber got it wrong from the beginning of the pipe installation. There is normal height for WC waste pipe from the finished floor level and from the one-meter or defence level level.
Close couple 160mm
Basin waste 530mm
Supply 600mm

Conceal
Waste 280mm

Basin
Waste 530mm

Some artisans like using courses as against proper measuring tapes and and this will definitely have negative effect when installing the fittings. The use of plum, one-meter level or defence height is very important ,the height of the fittings is very key in plumbing installation.

Standard operating procedures must be followed. Both Electrical, plumbibg and AC have measurement to be followed.

The best solution now is to re-run the pipes and follow the proper mounting height. ... I find difficult to the mounting details but will try later.

Is it possible that this issue could have spotted and probably avoided if the fittings were available almost as soon as the plumbing works was completed, and the plumber installing thr fittings almost immediately?

It’s a serious failed job hahaha
The plumber and the handler totally failed on this
As you said it’s total overhauling of those waste piping system to accommodate new setup, this time around a good handler should handle it.
Here is the diagram to buttress your point

Excellent illustrations!

The best is to involve the experience guy during the first stage of the project.. There is no way you can install fittings immediately after pipe works. , the place must be tiled (both floor and walls).. The only way it can be avoided is by engaging experience plumber or get the measurement right from the on set

Experienced water drillers, I need your help. I did a geophysical survey (please see the attached picture).

I am worried about the closeness of the water point to the building. I would like to know if the drilling will not affect the building?

I need responses please.

Don't let anyone tell your otherwise.
You have nothing to worry about it's closeness to the building.

The location must have been chosen based on geophysical/ geotechnical survey. The location is not too close since you are drilling a borehole and not a well. The size of the borehole should be 6inches so don't think it will affect the building

Thank you I appreciate.

I was worried if the structural integrity of the building will be compromised by the vibration of the drilling rig.

Experience plumbers in the house and Engineers please I need help on this.

Can a 4 inch pipe serve 4 bathrooms (and kitchens) from 4 units of 1 bedroom flat. To be clear, the plumber run all connections to the Septic tank with a 4 inch PVC pipe. But a friend that was sent to survey the work is suggesting we change the pipe that takes from the chamber (where all 4 flats have been connected) to the Septic tank ( 23m distance) into 6 inch pipe. His reason is that 4 inch pipe would block easily. Is this correct?

Don’t panicked your plumber is right, just only four toilets, in most cases in a residential buildings the waste pipes are usually 4”
But in my own case I do make used of 6” pipe once my toilets are more than 6-7 in a single line this will save any unwanted blockage of chambers, I adopted this system about 12years ago , the 1st building I did with this system never for once experienced blockage since that year till today same as others buildings

Your plumber is right... 100mm(4inches) pipe is okay for the waste water to your soakaway pit. That's the normal practice

Thank you. Given this suggestions, I will stick to the 4in pipe. Removing the 4 inch pipe and replacing with 6 inch will lead to additional costs.
