All that's happening now are not new. They were termed conspiracy theories by those who raised concerns. It's just that it's coming from the quarters we didn't expect so no denying it.

The democrats ran a big illegal operation to consolidate power. Money was never a problem. Nobody including Trump would be allowed to stand in their way.
They are seething as their sources of illegal funds dry up with each exposure.
I'm.sure you have no noticed there been little protests "not my president" with well designed posters.

Interim US Attorney for DC has been nominated for the same post by Trump to replace Matthew Graves.
Ed Martin who has overseen the departure of J6 inquisition prosecutors himself represented several of those jailed. He is a trump er who believes 2020 was stolen.
Media are now saying judiciary should be independent
Trumps team I believe will charge those who stole 2020.

The math checks out

Undocumented immigrants paid $96.7 billion in federal, state, and local taxes in 2022. Most of that amount, $59.4 billion, was paid to the federal government while the remaining $37.3 billion was paid to state and local governments.
Undocumented immigrants paid federal, state, and local taxes of $8,889 per person in 2022. In other words, for every 1 million undocumented immigrants who reside in the country, public services receive $8.9 billion in additional tax revenue.
More than a third of the tax dollars paid by undocumented immigrants go toward payroll taxes dedicated to funding programs that these workers are barred from accessing. Undocumented immigrants paid $25.7 billion in Social Security taxes, $6.4 billion in Medicare taxes, and $1.8 billion in unemployment insurance taxes in 2022.
At the state and local levels, slightly less than half (46 percent, or $15.1 billion) of the tax payments made by undocumented immigrants are through sales and excise taxes levied on their purchases. Most other payments are made through property taxes, such as those levied on homeowners and renters (31 percent, or $10.4 billion), or through personal and business income taxes (21 percent, or $7.0 billion).
Six states raised more than $1 billion each in tax revenue from undocumented immigrants living within their borders. Those states are California ($8.5 billion), Texas ($4.9 billion), New York ($3.1 billion), Florida ($1.8 billion), Illinois ($1.5 billion), and New Jersey ($1.3 billion).
In a large majority of states (40), undocumented immigrants pay higher state and local tax rates than the top 1 percent of households living within their borders.

TDS. A very real disease.

The people who never held the previous govts able for auditing the Pentagon think Trump is dishonest until he investigates the Pentagon.

News Flash! He plans on auditing the Pentagon and gutting the M-I-C of their slush fund source to sponsor forever wars. Rather than pontificating and pretending you care about real reforms, y'all dumb boomers can shut up and watch things unfold.

Again, hypocrites who hold Trump to one standard, and the evil psychos that actually destroyed the country? Excuses.

Just sit down and research why DOGE started with USAID. The answers are online. Hint: when a president puts a freeze on foreign aid spending. No agency is allowed to circumvent that. Especially one that was merely created by an EO and can be summarily discontinued with the brush of his pen.

The Pentagon will be audited as well. Just stop pretending you care. You don't. See the stupid easily disprovable lies you useful eediots post here for e.g

Like I have said, it's all a sham. Follow the money. If they were intent on cutting waste, they would have started at the Pentagon.

They don't have the balls to go after the Military Industrial Complex where toilet seats are being sold at $10k a piece, but want to convince us the wastage at USAID is what the US needs to get back on it's feet.

There is a reported $125bn (estimated) wastage, but they are not starting there first. They want to continue keeping 800 military bases over the world but remove entire agencies that families.

The SHEEP will shout TDS and pretend like they are making sense. They will cut their noses to spite their faces and find stupid reasons to explain why Trump has just said he's above the law.

It's not a plan to curtail wastage. It's a sham to make more money, and consolidate power.
Quick question, If Pentagon was this important to Democrats, why didnt they do something about it for the past 12 out of 16yrs they had power?
If Democrats were there for 12 of the past 16yrs and didnt do anything to the Pentagon you kept shouting about then they have no right to scream when someone is doing something or anything

If they leave a child with you who has Headache stomach bug, rashes, infected sores, and you did nothing, then the next person comes and takes care of the sores next you are crying why didnt he start with headache. The question is if Headache (Pentagon) was important to you, why didnt you do it when you were in charge

BTW Trump already told DOGE to audit Pentagon and Hegseth said he will welcome them when they arrive

I’m ALL for finding waste and corruption and revamping things after a thoughtful and intelligent examination. I would be fine with cutting or reducing programs that I feel are important if there was justification for it.

But this Willy-nilly slash and burn thoughtless destruction of jobs and entire programs is crazy. And those that do not see or understand the danger are either so brainwashed they can’t see it or too deeply entrenched to it they may have made a mistake here and this needs to be stopped, or are just so full of bitterness and hatred that they will cut off their nose to spite their face as long as who ever they hate is hurting too.

I don’t get people who are still cheering and saying THIS is what they voted for. I don’t get it.

When Democrats were in power, what did they do about this finding waste and corruption you are for? Are you really for it or just posturing?
When your team was there for 12/16yrs did nothing and those who attempt to do something they find funny ways to stand in the way

If your job is not providing value, then should you just be kept there? Many Americans will wish for a job where you can get paid a handsome salary to monitor nocturnal behavior of transgender lizards in Madagascar. Or entire programs that are not adding value to American interest

Whether you like it or not, you are paying for this through your taxes, The Debt keeps increasing and any agency of govt that cannot justify their existence of budget needs to be trimmed

Its what every President from Clinton to Bush to Obama promised and most didnt do anything about it. We have Trump even making an attempt but the Washington Bureaucrats are fighting it so they can keep getting rich

Seems Democrats have chosen to die on the hill of every 80-20 issue and chosen the 20

I hope they go to campaign that they want to shut down govt because they are refusing to send funds for pottery in Morroco, Sesame Street in Iraq and trans studies in Colombia

Why do you come to a discussion board and write the same misleading thing over and over?
Do you think it makes you sound smart?
Do you think it is a winning argument?
Or are you getting paid for how many times you write it?

I always assumed the goal of a place like this was to have honest discussions that elucidate understanding.
Repeatedly writing something that you know is misleading at best doesn't do that.

Only Congress can cut spending or gut programs. As when Congress es a bill and it is signed by the President it is law.
For Democrats to cut Defense spending, they not only have to a new law eliminating the program (which is tough without a Filibuster proof Senate), it would also have to be signed into law by a President.
So the Democrats would have to control the House, the Senate and the White House. And they would have to control the Senate by 60 votes.

Everyone of your posts is some form of trolling.

That Trump believes he can openly negotiate for another country without the country there in this generation is insane.

Trump currently does not have more than Biden and Obama had in their first and he was able to at least start something and do something

Obama and Biden controlled both Houses when they were sworn in for their first term and what did they do? Nothing

So sit this out while someone who has the willpower to do something at least attempts to do it. Not just sitting down twiddling thumbs and saying we will cut waste without doing a single thing

Biden never had a filibuster proof senate.
And Obama had it for partially in his first term and used it to the ACA. He lost it less than 2 years into that term.

The willpower you are talking about is the willpower to break the Law.
Presidents cannot impound (not spend) money already ed into Law by Congress.
It takes congressional power to gut programs.

You are saying Presidents in the past didn't have the willpower to break the law and this one does?
Yes you would be correct.

If Republicans wanted to cut the Defense spending, why didn't they work with Democrats who have always wanted to cut Defense spending?

This whole Trump thing is weird.
The things Republicans have always been for and fought for, that Republicans have voted for, whereas it be Defense Spending, a Muscular Foreign Policy(wars), they are suddenly against.
And it is the Dems fault, who have always been against them, for not cutting them/stopping them fast enough.

The American economy will definitely enter a downturn by the third or fourth quarter, basically this fiscal year.

Inflation is already rising, particularly with groceries, the most affected being eggs.

The primary reason for food inflation is that 42% of the agriculture workforce is made up of illegals and they are skipping work. There's no one picking the crops or attending to the hens.

The Fed will definitely increase interest rates to bring down inflation which woukd only slow down the economy to eventually a screeching stop.

This is barely 30days and things are fast falling apart.

I wonder what a full year result would be like? A bunker busting disaster@

Yes, Obama came to office after Bush(Republican) caused the Great Recession.
In his first 2 years, he stabilized the economy, stabilized the banking system, protected US auto Manufacturing then ed the ACA.
Unfortunately in a recession Government spending is a good thing, even military spending.
His first 2 years wasn't the moment for it.
But Democrats tried before then and after that.
Where have the Republicans been on cutting Defense spending? No where.
Because the dirty secret is that a lot of these Military bases and programs are situated in Republican states.

Trump also was President for 4 years.
What happened in his term?
Did he cut Defense Spending? No
Did he cut the deficit? No it went up.

If you don't understand how the US government functions, you shouldn't be posting here.
Google the Impoundment Control Act.
Congress controls the Purse. Meaning they control how much you can spend or not spend.
Because not spending money ona program is in essence a line item veto of a law Congress ed.
Trump can't cut congressionally approved programs as they are the law. Not funding them is tantamount to cutting them and is breaking the law.

The problem with the US is people like you can vote.

Seems they realized what they were doing was illegal and now are backpeddling some.
So now the question is, if Musk isn't in charge, who is?

Can that inflation rise be countered by a massive drop on federal spending?
Assuming illegals stop harvesting and thousands of USAID orphans are fired, that would imply a lot of people seeking jobs will increase, be it farm jobs or if they learn to code.
