Intellab: That is issue one. Assuming cells are good, cable size is a very very big factor. Was the cable hot during the process? |
Intellab(m): 7:33pm On Feb 07 |
dollarnaira:No. I’m asking if 2 more pack will be able to power 1hp sumo? |
dollarnaira: 11:52pm On Feb 07 |
Intellab: Unless the cells are not graded, it should be enough to power it. If u wish to build, well no qualms. |

Those cells are very light and they drop voltage sharply

Intellab: 1HP SUMO is only 750w, don't know if it has surge voltage Without surge a 1000w inverter can power it. I believe it doesn't have a compressor. So 2000w inverter will power it with ease. If 220v then the current draw would not exceed 4A |
dollarnaira: 4:43pm On Feb 09 |
capnies: There is initial surge |
tetralogyfallot(m): 4:54pm On Feb 09 |
Intellab:there are many factors to consider bro 1. The BMS u use for the battery( very important) 2. The inverter capacity 3. The size of the cables u use in building the battery pack. |
Penuelseun(m): 7:49pm On Feb 09 |
capnies:4a ke, current draw at 12v for 750w will be around 63a |

tetralogyfallot:1. I used 4S 100A BMS. Picture attached. 2. 3000w 12v pure sine wave inverter. Cutoff is 16.1v. 3. I used nickel strips in my build.

Intellab:this bms can only output 1200w. Surge from the pump might be higher than 1200w, I'd suggest you parallel the bms. How thick is the strip? 0.8,1,1.5 or 2? |
Intellab(m): 10:42am On Feb 10 |

officialfestus:The nickel strip is very thick. Maybe label is wrong. But this super hard to cut without a sharp scissors. |

In life, we hope one day it gonna be alright. It's never been easy. You plan but sometimes, it doesn't go with it. Yet hope keeps us going. Undoubtedly, with God at the centre of it all, we stand to conquer. Ride on gurus, your handling of this thread makes it a must follow and keeps NL on my to go apps daily. Kudos to you all @tetralogyfallot, Officialfestus, BangaRice, intellab, Dollarnaira, and others. I need to start somewhere, just something small. Can't wait any further. You guys are making me swallow saliva all day. 3 Likes |
