Uchesis: Great Confucius or Sun Tzu of marriage institution or should I call you King Solomon since you feel you have seen or known all marriage and the way or manner they will end. Let the man breathe. There are hundreds of marriages that are growing, happily and moving. Marriages that are still going stronger than ever. Marriages that still make people feel thankful about having people in their lives. Marriages that and protect. Some of us came from such marriages So Please don't raise an argument if you have not considered the two sides of the coin. 3 Likes |

In the beginning, I used to rely on YouTube and recipe books, I'd also call my sisters for instructions and they were very much helpful and didn't make fun of me like my mother would... But I can say that I spent about 70% of my first year surviving on takeaways...π
π
π
Even now I still rely on YouTube whenever I want to learn a new recipe... In 2023 I learnt how to make an apple pie and pizza, all thanks to YouTube...πππ I can now cook both western and traditional food perfectly...ππ½ππ½ππ½ Before varsity, there was always someone to cook around the house and I spent most of my time at school, by the time I get home, it'd be around 5pm, I need to rest and do my homework afterwards, then go to bed at around 8pm or 8h30pm... During the weekends my mom was usually around the house and she'd be the one cooking because she still had a husband to cook for, and she can't cook for the husband without including the children... I'd usually do other house chores around the house while she's cooking. But I have to it, I never bothered paying attention to her whenever she was cooking, I had to learn the hard way... ![]() ![]() ![]() Silentgroper: |

Samantha125:You lot are missing the point here. Itβs his wife serving him. In his home. Thereβs a lot of joy in that. Itβs not about the food. Canβt blame him for feeling blessed. Itβs your type that will say relationship is sweet because of mere baecation trip. When Iβve travelled to 4 countries last year alone. Whatβs the fun in baecation trips You get the point ?? 1 Like |

Samantha125: Woah .. you had your mum cooking for you.. You're lucky you're not Nigerian, that would've never happened except you've got cooks or a younger siblings ... By the age of 10, a Nigerian mum already received requires you to understudy her preparing every meal there is .. by the time you're a teenager, a Nigerian mum es the baton of the cook of the house to you and there is never ever going to be an excuse for you to miss a day of doing that. Not being exhausted from school activity and whatnots .. Omoh una dey enjoy oo.. You spent 70% of your year on takeouts being female ππ .. I can't imagine how frequently you must've been mocked for that ππesp if you had room mates and other female friends.. Lol . I knew YouTube would still be your go to platform to help out with cooking . Talking bout learning new recipes.. something tells me you've checked on how to cook jollof rice multiple times πππ and my gut feelings is always right... ππππ |

My mother wasn't cooking specifically for me, but for the entire family which also included her husband. And also she mostly only cooked on weekends, unless she had some time during the week... My father is also a good cook and he's not the type of a man that would sit around and wait for someone to come and cook for him when he's alone in the house. Keep in mind that I was doing other house chores like cleaning, the laundry, and washing the dishes... But on weekends, even though sometimes I'd do the dishes even during weekdays...π π π No one made fun of me for buying takeaways, like I said, I wasn't the only one who couldn't cook in my place of residence and it was a girls' only residence... Besides, I was buying those takeaways with my own money and I wasn't bothering anyone about it... My mother was the one who kept convincing me to learn to cook because I was wasting money on takeaways. I'd buy foodstuffs and store them in the fridge for so long that they'd even spoil and I'd have to throw them away... If I'm lazy to go out and buy myself something to eat, I'd either eat cereal, instant noodles, or sandwich either for lunch or dinner...πππ I've never checked how to cook jollof rice before, it never crossed my mind. Silentgroper(m): 9:08pm On Jan 30 |
Samantha125:yup, I understand she isn't cooking for you specifically ... In Nigerian set up she wouldn't do the cooking either for her husband or anything when she has you around ..you'd be sharing the kitchen with her which might eventually become yours until some man comes for you or you're away to school or something ... Hehehehe, you do dishes... πππ .. that sounds like some damage control to me ... You should be doing all chores ππππ ... You must've been a tad bit lazy back then .. ππππ I do like your family setup.. Sounds like some modern family type thing... But fr .. you dey enjoy no be small oo .. πππ |

[The guy just enter am make him tell me after 5 years how far.quote author=EmperorCaesar post=133934258] ![]() Just because of one normal wifey act, person go run go marry Seems most men grew up so badly treated by everyone that a lil courteous act from anyone is enough to make them fall in love [/quote] |

There are some families who teach their children how to cook from a young age, my nephew and niece who are 15 years old already can cook because my sisters taught them as soon as they became teenagers. My mother also taught my siblings how to cook from when they were still young, but as time went by, her workload increased and she started having less time to do the things she used to do before... Me being the youngest, I got left out. I'm just lucky to be having understanding parents...πππ Silentgroper: |
