Repairing the meter is done by their officials or some unauthorized individuals around your residing state.
But you can't tell me that you're not aware of the meter by.
If you want to come forward be truthful about it.
By is done by the individual and you can't deny not knowing about it.
I sincerely do not know about the by.

If you add money to 450k you should get an Original Lithium Battery, Solar and Inverter. It depends on your appliances ..Sometimes it is annoying when you think of the wahala and the amount he use to get the meter , why was the technician not sanction and meant to pay, this where regulation comes in sef .

I sincerely do not know about the by. I also reach out to the official that got it for me. He told me probably the free unit that comes with the meter hasn't finish that is why the meter doesn't trigger off..

Majority? I doubt it. Only those who are financially buoyant can effortlessly switch to solar. Not many Nigerians can afford to shell out 1.5 million naira for a basic solar installation. It's a pipe dream to think majority of Nigerians will soon shift to solar. In this same country where the Finance Minister mentioned last year that only about 5% of Nigerians have over 500 k in their bank , is where you believe people will rush to solar? Where will the remaining 95% forming the "majority" see the installation money?

Like I rightly said early on, I wasn't aware. It was the official who brought the meter also happens to bring the technician that install the meter for me. While I also noticed the meter not triggering off after a month it was installed I ran to him to complain and he told me probably the free unit that do come with new meter are still on it. Not long to that, while the meter hasn't trigger off, I recharge on the meter, it was then I noticed the meter was reading a negative value. I ran to him to still complain which he never heed to my complaint and I eventually got bursted by a meter monitoring team....
He got involved and he clearly told me he won't want a meter issue to take his job from him yet he's not giving a possible solution....
Do you have evidence of all these complaints you made to the official?
If you do then draft letter on that regard and sent it to their office, and also send it to the DISCo headquarters.
If what you're saying is true and you have evidence of this complaints then you have a good case here.

First off, why do you need a 3-phase meter? If you are not living in a mansion with many load or run heavy machinery in your house you do not need a three phase meter. If it's the regular bungalow or apartment with regular appliances found in most homes in Nigeria, a single phase prepaid meter will do the job.
From your explanation, it seems the PHCN staff did you dirty. A by literally involves avoiding the meter and connecting wires directly which should be obvious to you except, of course, you are not telling us the full story.
I sincerely do not know about the by. The meter monitoring team told me a wire inside the meter has been cut off....

Those nepa boys are one of the most corrupt people in Nigeria.
My prepaid meter enters a code due to less than 10 units on it and my wife called the installer who sent a guy to me, and he charged me 20k to restore the meter. Later, I heard If I go to their office, it will be like 5k, I was so pained that someone just cheated me like that, it happened second time and on my way to their office I saw one of their staffs who help me out to restore the meter. It happened 3rd time due to 2 factors which are power outage in my area and upgrade in their office. I try to recharge through my bank app but it wasn't successful, but my money was deducted, and I went to their office to see the customer care who gave me the restoring code freely and directed me to the appropriate office to buy the units. I key the code myself and the units and it was successful.
The bottom line is to stop dealing with the touts, go and explain yourself to the customer care who may refer you to appropriate personnel to solve your issue
Thank you

This is a senior NEPA official and a friend to the family that's the reason I approached him. Where I should have learnt my lesson was when the first single phase meter he helped me to get got damaged too. During those period all meter were to be upgraded, the meter refused the kyc code and I was asked to go get a new one. Now the new one he got is a deficient meter too...
He may have sold you a defective meter to get his cut, there are special units that deal with meter sales and installations, if you through them you shouldn't have these issues.

I have worked as an Estate facility manager for 6 years and I have encountered every sorts of meter by. I have never seen a single case where the meter was byed without the consent of the owner/ be it full by or partial by they're always aware of it. Initially they will try to deny ever being aware of the tampering but when I bring out their consumption records and recharge ( depending on how long they have been using the meter)for the past one year and ask them some really deep questions then they start confessing and seeking for soft landings.
The meter installer must have told him " Oga e get wetin I go do for you wey go make your light no go dey finish quick". And guy man would be like " oya na do am for me" .
Sir, with all honesty I know nothing about the by. It was even the meter monitoring team that told me that some wire has been cut off inside the meter. Countless time I also met with the official that brought the meter, he also brush me off...

Nigerians and their ever-poor attitude and behaviour. Someone was caught on meter by and you are still telling him not to allow people wearing the Ikeja Electric uniform which are actually the right people to inspect. If he doesn't allow the genuine people to inspect, is it the fake people who put him into the problems he should still allow?
@OP, seeking advice from Nairaland will only mislead you more cause an average Nigeria is not ready to the right thing. It's better you just take the invite issued to you to their office and follow proceedings. You are even lucky with that amount. I know people who got millions.
Nairalanders will only add to your problems o. Mind you, it's not Nairaland that has been enjoying free energy o.

Finally, a reasonable person has spoken. Kudos to you chief ๐๐. It's so obvious this man knew about the by, it's damn obvious ๐ฏ. If you're very observant, you'll notice he's only curious about getting it fixed by an unauthorized person so that he can again by the fine slammed on him.
Sir, with all honesty I do not know anything about the meter by. I have another property I placed on rental, I monitor the prepaid there with an eagle eye. How this happened to me still baffle me. I don't joke with paying bills, even my belief doesn't accept it. I was using a single phase meter bfr purchased by this same official, it was when I wanted to upgrade it that I was told it got tamper code on it and as such it cannot be repaired, I was asked to buy new one. I paid this same official again and it's obvious he has been bringing abandoned/ faculty meter to me.
I have wanted to take up the issue and he has been sending people to me to make me see reason why his job will be affected. I do not want him to handle the fixing of the meter that's why I am after repairing it elsewhere...

Not all, as far as I know.
I have read all on this platform. Maybe it was done behind his back or not, there are meters that when they install it for you, your units will burn faster than normal because debt dey on top am. Either from the apartment or one they spread around to cover their deficit. Know this and know peace.
Na issue of thief dey outsmart thief.
It's a pity many think I knowingly by the meter. When the meter monitoring team stormed my apartment, alot of people came to my defense they were yelling at those team that I'll never do such thing knowing fully well of my good personality...

There is already a solar installment plan available and ongoing with some banks and solar companies. You don't have to pay it in full if you don't have the instant cash. I never thought I could switch too until fuel matter enter am. Let me just say a substantial number may as they get to know the benefits, but not majority.
