Ourown: The age will always be dark if you block it. Even if you don’t block it, it will always be dark, except any of the rooms’ doors or kitchen’s door remains opened. In my opinion, a more appropriate way is to extend the age way into the kitchen area and put a window at the outer end of the age way. The area can even be used for any solar setup in future. |

Mup4life: It depends on how secured your area is. I’d you live in a secured and gated estate, you may not need to spend heavily on exterior doors, except if you are after esthetic of the building. What I notice these days is that: there’s less house burglar unlike years back. Where they may burgle could be construction sites because of materials on site. People hardly keep cash at home again. But if you are a’ hard’ man or you belong or you feel you have people who could be trailing you for revenge or attack because of any deals you could have done, consider that and make informed decision about the types of external doors you could go for. So, check the kind of external doors most of buildings around your house installed and how long those people have been living there. Inquire on history of house burgling in that area and trends before you invest on doors that would be less useful to you but very expensive. |

Hi Guys, please can anyone point me to a thread or any resources that explains and shows the process of building a bungalow? From foundation to roofing step by step process on best practices and materials to use. I don't mind buying a book if there is one available. I am building my first house and I want to make sure I do everything right and not rely blindly on contractors.

Ourown: Go to one of the threads by Spyder880 here on Nairaland. Look at the different houses he had completed ( bungalow, duplex , mansions etc) and read through the thread from page 1 . You would gain knowledge and inspiration. You can even ask him direct questions. 1 Like |

Probably the Board where Mix or they didn't use HDF for the Doors. Avoid Cheap Labour. You can still call the door Maker to come and fix it. A well treated wood Last Very long fabulous85: |

Good morning gurus in the house Please i need your advice on this How many courses of blocks should be placed on a cast lintel of a storey building. I’m confused whether to use two or three courses before the roof beam Your answers are very important to me |
dannie007(m): 7:33am On Jan 03 |
From Experience, I will advice Tilling first before installing doors but the Subframes should have be installed. Some Tilers will want to take a Uniform Level and this will affect the doors because they might be of different level. To save yourself stress, additional cost and also who is doing the door stress also. . michlins: 1 Like |
