Turn the table around, give the quote to your engineer or whoever is buying materials and tell them this is what they should buy. They will try to still convince you by saying your own prices is wrong but don’t give in stand your ground. When the person buying for you gets to to where they want to buy, out of nowhere, ask to speak to the seller also and negotiate price yourself and make sure you pay into the sellers . Don’t be weak or shy with people you are dealing with, they will reap you off and take advantage of you. Stand your ground. It’s your hard earned money.

E be like say you no understand Wetin Dey sup. How can one negotiate with a greedy person who inflated price of materials to x3 of the normal price. Negotiating is waste of your time because no matter how you negotiate, the end result will still not favour you. A greedy person has made up his or her mind and will stand on his or her ground to achieve his or her greed. To a greedy person, it’s either he or she achieves his or her greedy aim or nothing at all. A greedy person won’t drop their aim or come down for you. If a greedy person comes down for you, it is to cut another corner to still achieve their greed.

Besides I can confidently tell you that if you met the artisan and ask them to drop quote(use this approach to also scrutinized his quote, however you go to some extent need artisans that can understand your building plan), it's not going to be upto what the Engr quoted....

A lot dey happen for site but then, most workers will just focus on their job and leave client and Engr to sort their stuffs out.

Please, note this: The builder listed the materials needed for this precast in the first list, and the workmanship he would collect, which is #380k.

But if he would buy the materials by himself, he would collect #1.4m for everything, including his workmanship.


Please, which option is the best?

Secondly, is #1.4m not too much for precast?

Considering the state of the country
With a sincere heart it will be difficult finding that person. But if you have a sister like mine you are 💯 good to go. the only problem is that if she’s not conversant with building materials prices and all that, those artisans will drains her but with your help alongside her’s you all would achieve your desired results. But ensure you trust your sister well enough because those gender can ONLY be trusted when she’s your sister/mom. However, if the above option isn’t available to you, I might be able to give other suggestions. I wish you well.
