Even without crypto. A good buy of transcorp would have generated x20 now.
Just 2 years ago transcorp has done x10 now

it is simple maths.

if someone buy 1000 unit of shares at 20 naira, in 2 years if that company share price increases to 100 Naira, how much do you think the person would have made, the answer is 100k

Now compare if you buy 10M worth of shares at 20 naira, in 2 years, if that company share price increases to 100 naira, how much do you think, you would have made. the answer is 1Billion

that is how they make money.

Crypto is a gamble..a friend of mine bought 3 btc in 2013 it was a gamble and institutional investors had none....Once you become old money u become more cautious

it is not a gamble, BTC also follows the principle of shares but it is more volatile

in 2013, btc was around $200 now it is around 63k, that is 315X in profit = $189k

shares prices pump and dumps just like BTC, so if he hold his btc for long and sell for profit, he would have made lot of money by now

crypto is a scam as well for the future...MMM

Crypto is not a scam

You can only buy scam tokens if you do not do your research

Crypto is already been integrated in the global financial systems, AML and KYC are been put in place and their are lot of regulations in place as we speak

Majority of crypto exchange CEO work with top investment banks in the US, Singapore, Hongkong, and UK

so the idea that crypto is a scam or MMM is old school

How much did you make from BTC

BTC is now almost 65k, how many can afford it?

if you put 500 naira in btc today, you wont make any good money in the next 10 years

You people just talk any how

Whether you invest in crypto or the Nigerian stock exchange, you need to buy in large volume

Buying 1000 unit of a share or crypto wont make you any money

but when you buy 50M unit shares of a good company, you are likely to make *3 in the coming years.

if you are a trader, you are likely to make more every day, just by trading ever day in the stock exchange

The same goes for crypto

You make money when you buy in large volume

Next time read to understand. I mentioned 2M shares, thank you.

1. If you buy 2m shares of a worthless company

Your shares will be worthless

2. You do not buy shares to hold for 11 years

You buy shares to trade for profit not hold

Same here. With this, I won't even bother myself going through the stress of getting it.
We like to complicate a seemly simple process in Nigeria. The stress one will be subjected will be more than the money you want.

Thanks so much.

But what do you mean by the bolded pls?

It means if I spend like 1billion naira in getting a certain shares from a particular company and you too buy from such company with just 1 million naira ... of after a month the price of the shares rise with let say 1% me with the 1billion investment can decide to sell off my shares because that increment is enough for me there by affect your own 1million you invested because once my 1billion is out of the company they will struggle to pay you and sometime you might not even get your capital back

such thing cant happen on treasury bill sometime self you go know your gain before the expire of such bill . let say the treasury bill is for 90 days or 180days depends, it wil be stated along with the quoting that on any amount you invested your return will be let say 9% , so if you invested 10 million naira for 180 days treasury bill on 9% interest that means the government will pay you 10.9 million naira at the end of 180 days tenure. thats is very secure if you cant do it yourself you can go to your bank and ask for Mutual Funds but first make your research on any bank you want to do that with

Please I need advice from people that knows about shares.
My Dad bought about 1050 units of Transcorp share in 2013. He lost the certificate so he forget about the shares.
Until the second quarter of this year when someone told us about this link to apply for unclaimed dividends.

My Dad was sick and hospitalized so we help him filled the form online and he signed his signature. After much suffering the share "African Prudential PLC" finally paid
The following amount into my father's as the share Dividends per year

Heyaa..

Sorry bro..
The truth is that 1050 units is so small..

People actually bought 3million units and more..
And they still got peanuts in return.

336 NGN in total. The company do your papa wrong. Maybe he believed the money will feed your children’s children. Let me estimate the payments for 2015 and 2016. They were 18.59 NGN respectively.

Finally after 7years I was also able to get control of my Dad's shares and dividends (payment was just made last week.. nothing much just 15k But the fact that I can now manage or sell the shares each is now worth NGN21 is a plus. And its a popular FMCG company.

Was also able to help my younger brother with his Transcorp shares too. Dividend was poor but atleast we can sell it off now.

@ NetbizBoss How far? is your dad willing to sell his transcorp shares. I think its worth N40 per share now. and that's something tangible. for an investment he bought less than 10k

Why not send them a message then? First ask how much unclaimed dividends you have to know if its worthwhile to pursue this. Also you can sell off the shares too even if the dividend isnt worth it. as long as the share price has appreciated.
