Quick one, which category of doctors would be able to assess the patient and recommend assisted death?

Medical doctors.

The bill has a lot more detail if you want to know more: https://publications.parliament.uk/pa/bills/cbill/59-01/0012/240012.pdf

I didn't say there are no people with other concerns outside of religious reasons. I even expressed mine.

I said how 'most' of the criticism appears to me based on much of the commentary I have seen.

Not sure how you inferred narrow-mindedness from that but mo ti gbọ́, mo ti gbà 🙌🏿.

Ultimately though, it appears to me that most of the hand-wringing about the bill is by people who have objections based on their own morality (usually derived from religion) and are willing to deprive others of their agency to satisfy their own beliefs

For clarity, the above is the comment I referred to as narrow minded. However you are entitled to your views,in the same way the people you referenced are entitled to have their own views and concerns, whether they are based on their religious beliefs or not.

The economy grows if more people contribute to NI and these moneys will be invested into NHS, fix London Roads, school meal etc. do u agree ?

Yes I do. Some are genuinely not able to work due to ill or limited health, but I agree that where possible, those who can should be encouraged/ed back into work.

Hi all, please I have a situation. My friend is due to make PSW application but she has money only for she and her husband. They have 2 kids here in the UK and for now they don't want to include them in the initial application due to lack of funds.
Please I need advise.

Outcomes vary depending on the caseworker. They will usually ask about the whereabouts of the children before deciding the application. If you explain your financial challenges, the caseworker might accept this and proceed to grant your applications, (which is the likely outcome). However there is a small chance they could pause your application until you apply for the children.

When do the children's visas expire? You'll have to submit their applications before the expiry date otherwise they will become overstayers.

Hi all,

Does anyone have a solution to a 'sweaty' toilet cistern ) condensation?

Thanks.

It's a seasonal problem. Easiest way is to ventilate and reduce humidity in the bathroom by using a bathroom fan, leaving the window open at least occasionally or using a dehumidifier.

If that doesn't work, you might need to insulate the cistern or use warm water in the cistern.

Thank you for your response. Please, what are the likely implications of the kids becoming overstayers. It is very unlikely that the funds for their application can be raised before their visa expires, unless an extention is granted to them.

When do the children's visas expire? They have less than 36 days on their visa.

An extension isn't possible under these circumstances.

What are the children's ages? Try everything in your power to submit their applications in time - can you borrow the money or get a loan? Do you have a credit card you could use?

If they become overstayers it'll cost you more in the long run to regularise their status. They would either need to leave the UK and reapply as your dependants from Nigeria or depending on their ages, apply for regularisation based on the 7 year child private life route.

Their age ranges from 10 & 8. The money for the parents is a loan. Credit cards by the hubby is just 500 and 200, and has been used to some extent.
Is there no way that they could be given time to work and raise money for the kids to apply later, even if their visa has expired?

It doesn't work that way. There is a discretionary grace period of 14 days from a visa expiry date, but the late application must have a good reason such as a medical emergency.

Anything outside 14 days (without a pending application in place) is considered overstaying which is illegal ,even for children, and which the Home Office treats very seriously.

Re the bolded, you should be to apply from Nigeria for the kids if their visas have expired. As they're young, they shouldn't face a re entry ban.

Many (citizens) are also doing cash in hand jobs to evade taxes. These worklessness thing is not just due to health or other reasons, so many are just hiding under any convenient excuse to go do cash in hand jobs. Am sure the govt is aware hence their efforts in waging war against benefits mongers.

Thanks for the responses. The toilet has an extractor fan which is on when the shower is in use. We also regularly ventilate the space by leaving the window open most of the time. Closing only in the mornings.

How does the cistern insulation work?

How did you send your laptop to Nigeria, how long did it take and cost please?

I want to send one, thinking of using royal mail. I don’t want any cost on the receiver.

Anyone with an info can help please.

Thanks

Definitely not royal mail. Receiver will hear from DSS, NDLEA, Nigerian customs and still will part with more than the cost of a new one. Try cargo companies

No NHS Trust will give sponsorship for you to come to the UK for band 6 without a pin. The only exception is if you sponsor yourself to the uk to write the osce and have the pin then you can start to apply for band 6 role and this is somehow hard because no UK experience as the Trust will ask for UK experience. I know its easy and fast to move from band 5 to band 6 when you have done DN training.

I didnt limit myself LOL, I'm only stating the facts.

Cheers
My PIN is out and I'm on Band 6. That's what was stated on my Cos, Band 4 pre OSCE, Band 6 after ing OSCE. Many people especially Nigerians in my work place are angry about it here but I press their necks daily.

I encourage people to try, not to limit themselves.. The fact that it's not the norm doesn't mean it can't happen, we just have to try. I was told not to attend the interview because it was a mistake, I attended. I was told not to take the offer seriously, yet I was adamant and landed the UK. I entered UK, naija people for work wan choke me telling me I wil struggle. Lazy people. Yes, I struggled for like a month to understand the role which is normal but now I'm a master at it. My nursing work in Nigeria is even 10 times harder and physically draining than this.
Never listen to negative people, try try try and get the response first before pessimistic people make you loose focus. UK people generally seems to be lazy and pessimistic, I've come to discover.

If this was before I would have say it is grace.
But I don’t believe in that anymore.
What was their reason for not applying for the role?

I wouldn’t say they are pessimist, there must be a rationale why they did not apply.

Congratulations and make sure you the exam.
