Does the man mean if the hospital had requested from him to cut her wife fibroid he wouldn't have permitted them to go ahead.

And moreover, does removing fibroid from one's body requires permission again and was the husband a doctor to determine if it is best to remove the fibroid or not, and where is the part in that write up that suggested that the hospital is incompetent?

So what the man just narrated shows that the hospital tried their best to put the wife in a good condition but it was mission impossible.

I understand the man's pain, but he should take it as force majeure

Well said

Condolences. CS is not an easy operation; it gets worse when the patient has complications like high bp and Fibroid. Even if you are guaranteed 4 pregnancies in CS, its never advisable to do all of them. Manage 2.

This is what you get when you marry a woman who cannot deliver naturally. Cant blame the hospital for your poor choices.

Atleast they delivered the baby.
U started very well but u later showed a very stupid character, how do u know a woman that cannot delivered naturally? Is there any woman who chooses not to deliver her baby in a normal way, haba let's b mindful of our utterances especially when life is involved.

No litigation can bring back the dead but utmost professionalism would have prevented this grave misdeed..
We should stop bringing God into matter of competence of a man's profession.

Nigeria hospitals are dead trap they don't know what they are doing just doing guessing... My woman as have 2 big fabriod while pregnant, she's in and out of hospital because she's working in a restaurant as chef and as the baby keep growing in size the heat from the kitchen always disturbed the baby inside and she started looking for means to come out earlier, i had to stop her own, what doctor did, they compress the fibroid so the baby will develop properly.... She gave birth normally and will go for surgery after recovery for fibroid removal... Removing fibroid during CS is 50/50 ... Sue them

Sad. Rip to the dead.

However, what is the actual reason for the CS in the first place.

How come the fibroid became a problem in theatre.

They really requested O+be blood?

People needs to stop saying they should leave "doctor's negligence to God." It will keep occurring if they are not held able.

A man has accused a hospital of causing his wife's death due to medical incompetence.

The grieving husband took to Instagram to narrate how his wife was booked for a cesarean section on October 29, but the events that followed ultimately resulted in her death on October 30.

She leaves behind a daughter and her newborn son.

He shared a photo of his late wife and wrote: "Island maternity took my wife's life due to incompetence and stupidity.

If they successfully operated on 3 other women, it means they may not be so incompetent.

it's usually fatal to remove fibroid during a C.S, the right thing to do would have been to leave the fibroid removal for another time

It is called consent. You must obtain consent from the patient or whoever is acting on his/her behalf. You don't force treatment on people, you must receive their permission if they are capable or the husband in this case.

The way you guys reason like people in the dark ages is scary.

There can be incidental findings that were not visible on scan but need to be attended to ASAP before clo. It's not all wrong to attend to such finding especially in case like this where it apparently was endangering the life of the woman

Leave what for which almighty? He should take legal action against that so-called hospital to save others from falling victims.

Their next victim could be your loved one.

That statement sound insensitive, but yes there are some women who prefer cs to normal delivery, i know of 2 close friends after 2 kids each they still want cs for their 3rd child.. They keep saying it's easy and stress free....

This is just sad. I thought I had seen the worst cases of medical negligence and poor preparedness. The problem with suing is that they always have ways of countering your arguments with medical jargon. Arguing your case properly will also be difficult since you weren’t in the operating room to get first-hand information. The judge might even call for an autopsy to gain further clarification, which is likely not the kind of “torture” you’d want for her body. Still, there’s no harm in trying. May her soul rest in peace.

This is a very myopic mentality..

Incompetency should be called out and treated..

Your person could be next .

I dont know why you refuse to get the context before attacking. Some women can't deliver naturally, this is a fact. Never said its a crime

You ranting is unwarranted, stop pretending you care about women who have these issues.

Brother, I find your statement rather insensitive. 'This is what you get when you marry a woman who cannot deliver naturally'? It doesn't surprise me by the way, given the average mindset of the Nigerian populace, especially those who claim to be educated.

You do not even know the man or his deceased wife. You have no idea of the complications she may have had for surgery to have been required. And in what book did you ever read that Caesarian Surgery was a poor choice? Tell me, I pray thee, how to identify a woman who can birth 'naturally' on the first day of meeting her.

You do not blame a man who has just lost his wife and has to cater for his son alone, for his wife's death while giving such preposterous submissions. You might just be the next patient in the hospital needing a surgery for your wounds.

Just another opportunity for you to score cheap points. Where is your empathy if I may ask?

Guess you are a medical student. It is not usually fatal to remove fibroid. They only have more tendency to bleed. However, the fibroid could be everywhere and you may not have option than to to remove one or two to access the baby. This is done worldwide.
The problem is that it may bleed than usual. Secondly, the fibroid would have replaced the normal uterine tissues making contraction haphazard or inadequate.
Therefore, the fibroid can result in uterine atony on its own even if they were not removed .

You don't just determine negligence because a fibroid was removed. Was the removal necessary? Was that the reason for the PPH?

Bury the woman let her rest from all the pains, let God judge n live all litigation, no amount of trial could take her back....to maintain ur sanity leave it for God....so sorry about it.

Oga. It is painful but you can't fight this. You don't know better than them. That you didn't ask them to cut out the fibroid doesn't mean the cutting out was unnecessary. May God console you.

Litigation is not that easy. He is going to spend a lot of money, time and mental energy in the process, personal resources, while the hospitalis spending corporate resources. And there's no guaranty that the hospital will be found guilty. You haven't heard from the other side. It's not simply about being docile.
Sometimes it's wisdom.
Iweakbro:

Leave everything for God? He should also leave reproduction and money-making for God. Christians nowadays are too docile and that is why the religion is fading.

He should press on with the litigation, to ensure the hospital never repeats that with another person's wife.

This case is complicated.
Sorry for the loss.

That mission was more suicidal than survival

Again, why getting information from the nurse and not the doctor?

Count your losses and move on. Sorry, I know it's easier said than done.

Leave this shithole if you can, for sake of your son.

R.I.P to the dead.

From what he narrated, the doctors tried to save his wife's life

So sad, medical negligence .

There's nothing like negligence in this story. It's just an individual's (doctor's) decision making priority.
For example, if he had gone with removing the Uterus as first option, the woman would have been alive, but no Uterus. There will still be complaint front the husband.

Sorry for the loss
