Please I need a professional advice, am executing a work and I currently want to carry out a few wood work installion for internal doors, wardrob and kitchen cabin, this is a commercial building hence it needs to be cost effective.

Please what material should I be looking out for that is less expensive and durable.For the material price range will also help my judgement

Good day to you all, a client called me to assess a particular diagonal crack on the outer wall of his new building....I asked them couple of questions, n it seems the lintel of the building started from one column at one end n where it terminated in the middle of the building is where is where the crack started n went down diagonally.

Is it advisable to chisel the building n extend the lintel to meet the other column at the next end of the wall?

They have already plastered it thinking the plaster will cover the crack, not knowing the crack will crack the plaster aswell

Most people seeing that particular post would naturally assume those are his works. He needs to make clearer those are not his works.

For example, an unknown architect using a picture of Cocoa House to vaguely advertize his skills would be ridiculed and avoided, don't you think?

Even better, he needs to post his own works. That's all the reference he needs. People here are mostly generous in spirit.

I agree with you. It is important to reference any work or materials that are copied.
Also creating a kind of personal portfolio with collections of previous works done makes an artist or workman authentic.

For your internal doors & kitchen cabinets... it's imperative to use HDF board, while wardrobes you go for MDF boards

Let me reiterate again!!! I'd strongly advise HDF boards only for Kitchen cabinets & internal doors.

If you're planning to build by direct labour, it's best you know how to read and implement the design yourself, otherwise you better engage a professional builder/engineer. Do not depend on a bricklayer to do that for you. E get why!

The question wasn't whether you can do it, but if those jobs you posted were actually done by you. 15 years on the job, then surely you must have tonnes of pictures of your actual jobs to post. Nor be my job you go carry prove to me say you fit do am. You can show proof by posting your own jobs or have previous clients review your jobs on here. Thanks.

If u have a fair knowledge Price with ur bricklayer on the cost per block n multiply by the total blocks u need to lintel. Then make a 30% addition for half blocks . That should put u close to ur actuall

To be honest, my fair knowledge in relation to pricing is over two years ago..That is why am here to ask what is d standard price to pay now, from those who have done theirs recently and those doing theirs now .. My bricklayer said we will meet this weekend..I want to have an idea now Incase when he brings out his figure, I will know what to negotiate...Hope you get?
