I speak Yoruba fluently, I know ur culture but it doesnt dilute one once of my Igbo blood. If you are conversant with events in Lagos, You would have noticed that a lot of Igbo people in Lagos speak Yoruba fluently. It is even a great advantage. Lol.

You won’t know, but it will shape your thinking.

When you teach kids Yoruba history at their young age, it play on their psyche and they tend to behave differently from those that grow up in other places.

If you go to Igboland today, you will think differently and your approach to things will be somehow different from people who spent their life in Enugu. You might not know it, but people will tell you themselves.

You are just one person

There are alot of Igbos that understand Yoruba more than their Language and I know alot of them

Imagine what would happen when they have children, still in the SW...Over many generations, they'll assimilate into the culture

As for the socalled advantage, whats advantageous in learning a local language that u cant speak outside the shores of your country cheesy cheesy cheesy...Its why most Yorubas dont envy you guys in that regards. Plus, no be say dem wan relocate to your region tomorrow. So they care less about yours

Language is not history.

They didn't teach Oluwo of Iwo the history of Yoruba?

Lagos is a cosmopolitan state. Residents pick many things from many groups

What happens to Federal Republic of Nigeria?

Now, what about Lagos becoming capital of Oduduwa Republic where Yoruba language will be the only official language?
Crude oil from the Niger delta region developed Lagos. How about people of the oil producing areas enacting laws to have proceeds from crude oil for themselves alone?

The problem.is that if those languages are not pointedly guarded they will be lost. 90 percent of Arabic speaking countries had a different language in the past.

Lol, My mum speaks Yoruba more than I do but till date apeaks her own native Owerri language. My Dad speaks French, Yoruba and Bambara language ( Mali). None of those influenced us or stopped us from speaking Igbo. I learnt Yoruba when I came to Lagos. You guys dont understand the uniquness of the Igbo tribe.

Now all non-Yoruba kids living in Lagos must learn Yoruba and be tested in an exam to evaluate them.

Sanwoolu took Lagos is no man’s land delusion by those guys to another level.

So Lagos is your template for one Nigeria? Is Igbo not required by student in South East states? So why must Yorubaland own be different?

Anambra is so clannish they openly call for state recruitment of only Anambra indigenes but you’re here preaching to Lagos on how to govern because of one Nigeria.

Bro, with peace, me, I am ready to force groups to seek how Nigeria can path ways peacefully or at least run a true federal system of govt or regional based govt so that ethnic groups can actually function in their regions and no one will fear domination here and there. That would be the best for the Yorubas as they can now have lagos totally to them selves alone.

Really, You that dont know me is telling me how I am thinking. Really? Are you people not wondering why there seems to be no difference between the Igboman in Europe and the one in the village? Not to even talk of Lagos here. You people are yet to understand the Igbos if so.

Well ed 100% if anyone not happy with it pls vacate Lagos and go back to your village it's not by force to live in Lagos.

That lair stranger called Vivour Rhodes with no known Yoruba trace and could not speak a single Yoruba but speak igbo fluently despite claiming been born, bred, schooled and lives in Lagos but can not say ordinary good morning in Yoruba is a big concern and that was why we shovel his
a s s to bin.

Lagosian and SW I stand with you for doing all possible to keep your heritage, your language and your culture not like my own people claiming jew with no biblical proof.

Enough is enough of ingrate invaders daring Lagosian and SW.

Good one Lagosian and SW pls make permanently fix Isheshe festival date in their calendar anyone not happy about it pls quit SW.

Walahi there is difference.

There is also difference in thinking for a Yoruba man living in Nigeria and those living in USA that grew up there and did high school there.

You are conflicting tribal identity with environmental influence.
