Hello Nairalanders, I was at the Festac immigration office to collect my kids port on Tuesday but the date(21st August) and. “AA” was written on their confirmation slip with a red pen and I was told it wasn’t ready yet. Please what is the meaning or implication of “AA”?

It is DIY and they captured on April 15th.

Any of who can fast track an already captured application in Festac?

If you captured in first week and 2nd week of April at Alausa, your port is ready for pickup. I picked mine yesterday

I was told they are currently working on ports of those who captured in March.

What does “Awaiting Approval” even mean? These guys are clowns. I just hope they don’t come back with stories that approval was decline for whatever reasons.
Frankly, they just look for means to punish those of us that chose the DIY route.

Such things are not happening in the North. I got my port within 35 days recently in Kaduna. Northerners don't frustrate thing as it happens mostly in the Western region especially in Lagos.

This is bad.

Imagine some applicants had been captured since March and April, still yet to get the port in Lagos

Have you been to Festac office lately, like this week? It's possible yours has entered PNA, just give them around 2 weeks and check back on them.

Not to worry, you are not alone here
Just be patient a little and hopeful, like 3 - 4 weeks from now it should have either entered PNA or fully produced/activated and ready for pickup.

Affix Approval, if you go back again after may two weeks and they are still saying same thing, please kindly probe further to know what the problem is. It might just be because you didn't settle them during capturing that they decide to remove your file from production. Also try to know if those that captured that time have received their port, if they have received, then you talk to them.
That was exactly what happened to me in gwagwalada office, because I didn't pay for what they called processing fee, though it was later resolved after I make a huge issue out of it. I didn't pay kobo

Wow...if it is true then that means they are focusing more on production than activating the ones produced which is also a good thing, because after production what's next is just activation which doesn't require any material that can go scarce.
Well let's hope that information is true, then it's just to give them 3 weeks before going for collection.

It will have been produced in 3 or 4 weeks time, but not activated. Activation is done on the day of collection. port applicants' fingerprints will be collected to activate the ports.

I doubt that. There is no need for fingerprint for collection even your agent can collect it on your behalf
horshyjnr(m): 7:03am On Aug 25, 2023
Bro..... there's need for it oo coz that was the major reason that most applicants were unable to collect port in Abeokuta on Weds due to network issue despite seeing our ports.

Yea I know of the activation during collection, but I think theres another activation or something right after PNA before you can come for collection.... because if you go there and check the status and they say it's in the PNA stage, the next thing they tell you is to come back in a week or 2.
I don't know, i think PNA means produced but not activated... There's a chance there are 2 types or parts of activation, the one they will do by themselves and the one that requires the applicants presence like finger prints and so on

At Alausa port Office when you collect your Nigerian e-port you will be told to go to room 10 to activate and it. Please do not hesitate to this claim.
