I want to do what is called recessed curtains.

I don't want to see any curtain rods above my windows.

I also want my curtains to start from the recess in my ceiling to floor.

I have a feeling that they look stately.

Has anyone done something similar here?

What considerations should I bear in mind as I embark on such a project?

I saw this little cute gadget on Amazon that one can attach on a curtain rod and it automatically draws the curtain by voice command or from phone.
If you don’t have an exposed rod, you might not be able to adapt it here.

Just give a recess of about 200-300mm from the wall to the start of the ceiling for easy installation n your ceiling board need to be thick so as to hold the curtain anchor and not drop later due to the thickness or weight of your curtain.

Easy. I have installed a couple of motorize curtain in that kind of space… drilling machine will do the job

At what point is it decided weather to add pillar with rod to a fence or to use block pillar, is it just majorly by choice or there is a structural rational to it?

You would normally screw the curtains anchor to the wall and not the ceiling/pop so the ceiling is safe and protected from dropping.

Your POP design should accommodate the recession/grove from conception. You may even screw in the curtain braces/anchor in place before commencement of the pop installation. It is a straight forward process.

I believe you. If this approach is adopted, there is the risk of dropping ceiling like you said.

When you stand outside (approach) and open the door, it swings inside towards your left.

In other words, when you are inside the house and open the door, it swings towards you to your right hand side.

For transportation from Lagos , I would assume they will charge between 15- 20k. We can split that even. Fair enough?

Sir!! Don't get me wrong!! He paid me for 5 Doors I did the 5 Doors and supplied him.


I got to his Site 4pm that day on a Sunday!! Installed 2 Doors my Colleague installed 1. Making 3 doors.

I called to his Notice that the tiles was not level at the door area, that it is popping up and the doors frames where bowed due to the bad work of the Bricklayer. They where suppose to brace the frames before plastering.

Why the frame of the Kitchen he said it was Wrongly fixed that he wants it to swing outside instead of going inside because of space management. That we should not border to install that particular door.

Out of the 3 doors installed we had to remove 2 doors back because is was not working!!! Mind you this Doors are Doors. So out the 5 doors it was just one that was possible after using wood chisel to chop off alot of the edges

We left the site 7:30pm that day.

Normally 1 hours was OK to Install the 5 Doors if the Frames where OK.

We talked he was going to fix the Frames instead weeks later you started calling and threatening me to come and Fix the frames I told him fixing of Frames was not part of my job on the phone.

Next he started telling me if will spoil my name on Nairaland to scare away customers from me.

I told him once he get the frames fixed he should let me know. He Later did called me that they have fixed the frames that I should come I promised I was going to come then was when there was Naira scarcity. I explained to him. He kept on threatening me. And later said he as fixed the rest 4 Doors that he will make sure i don't get job from the Page again.

He is only posting pictures of our conversation wish he could post the phone recording between us also.

I told him not to be Angry that alot as Happened during the shot period.

Instead he kept on insulting me on calls.

What do you expect me to do Sir?


There are some things I couldn't share with him. That period I was mourning My Wife and Baby Daughter due to Childbirth.

I was in a Mess then. He never gave me the chance to Explain to him.

The good thing was that I produced the doors had it delivered but couldn't get all fixed due to errors on the frames.

For Months he has been tagging me up and down.

If the whatsapp conversation is not enough evidence to prove the type of liar,someone that doesn't feel remorseful

Instead you are demanding me to post phone conversations that doesn't exist which you know

For constructing all this type of lie

I have nothing against curtain rods, I just want them out of sight.

So I don't mind using curtain rods, but I don't want them visible.

I also plan to automate the opening and closing of curtains.

Watched a few videos on that.

It is way cheaper to use curtain rods and hide them than buy those curtain track systems.

The issue that complicates this is that this is a remodel but I guess it is not impossible to make this happen.
