Deeni131: So many things can be wrong with it. It may be low voltage, may require servicing or may be capacitor. How's the power situation over there? I will suggest you remove the unit, take it to the car wash guys for pressure wash for them to flush both the evaporator and condenser so the unit can breathe well just incase it's blocked. After which fix back and observe. |

BarrElChapo: What about Kenstar ACs? How reliable are they? Have you used them before? |
BarrElChapo(m): 7:38am On Apr 13, 2023 |
tizteezy: I've not used any but Kenstar is an Indian based company. Might be good from what I read up on it. 1 Like |

nonnyviisuals: I understand your fear, and your friend is right.... It is necessary to vacuum an air conditioner but not really mandatory for a new unit, But it's compulsory if the unit has been worked on (Compressor) I've done lot of vacuuming onboard our ship (Our air conditioning system doesn work like our conventional AC and requires pamper and lot of preventive maintenance lol)... Believe me, if you don't vaccum the system, it's gonna mess up the unit and HVAC on ships cost a fortune. |

AnnieTiz: Hello, I just stumbled upon this thread. If you haven't got an AC unit, go for the TCL. You "WON'T" regret it. I was using an hisense inverter 1hp before and didn't enjoy it. It wasn't barely cooling my space. I got a TCL 1.5hp non-inverter in January and just installed it. The unit cools rapidly and is incredibly silent. Again, you can't go wrong with the TCL. I won't buy Hisense, and I'm not downgrading it. The people who bought the first few batches of Hisense AC enjoyed best, in my opinion. |

How do I know if my LG is a power saver or not? Here is it. Although, it has 70% energy saver sticker but I don't trust it because I bought it new from an Inewi boy who I don't trust. Again I was using it with unmetered power supply but now that I moved to a metered residence, I spent about 10k per month on my house for electricity units. Please help me out. I do use it 8 hours a day. How do I use it to save energy?

enumerica: Oga Sir, next time, simply look up the model number on your outdoor unit and use Google to search for it. This will also work on most electronics and electrical items. I did anyways and your item is an inverter AC. It uses the Inverter V technology . |
nonnyviisuals: 9:57am On Apr 20, 2023 |
enumerica:The AC doesnt look original to me at all. Indoor unit and remote are obviously FAKE dual inverter. Fouani makes purchasing Lg products easier. I use my dual inverter 15hrs everyday and it uses 4-5unit |
kevkory: 11:51am On Apr 23, 2023 |
tizteezy: You'll find the model number in this image.

@mangolpupa @sacramento1212 Have you seen Firman ACs? How good are they? I know their Generators are good, but I don't know about AC |
mangolpupa: 3:17pm On Apr 23, 2023 |
tizteezy: Brotherly, I have not used them personally but second hand information says the AC are great. I have also received great from some people I know about Midea inverter AC. I do not know if they'll remain good products in future but my subjective assessment is that they will because (1) Firman Sumec has established some good level of quality in the generator market, so there is a brand name to defend. Secondly it is a relatively new product in the inverter AC market so the quality/cost ratio is attractive. Once it establishes its quality, the prices are likely to creep up. (2) Midea though a relatively new brand in Nigeria is one of the biggest AC manufacturers. Meaning they are into research, design, manufacturing and sales of their products. And may even be manufacturing for other private label companies. My prediction is that if they have a string distributor in Nigeria, it wont be long for people to begin to gravitate naturally towards it due to the attractive quality/cost ratio. If the cost of LG dual cool is same or close to either Firman Sumec / Midea then go for LG dual cool. LG are more established, which translates to easily available parts, easily serviceable, local knowledge about how it works is abundant etc. should the need ever arise. Please if you ever decide to get any of these products, make sure you get from main authorized distributor and company. Be vigilante, lots of fake products are in the market. 1 Like |

mangolpupa: You're right, I think I'm hearing lots of positive reviews about some AC brands in recent times Midea Kenstar Firman Good that we're having good competition for LG. They've been monopolizing the medium range market after Panasonic |
mangolpupa: 6:15pm On Apr 23, 2023 |
tizteezy: Very true, we as consumer benefits the most where there is competition in a free and fair market. Monopoly sinply kills innovation, and exploits us. This is true of any sector of our economy. Make I no mention names ![]() ![]() However I would argue that panasonic are actually positioned for the high end market segment and not medium end in Nigeria. Original Panasonic are easily 100k to 150k the price of the medium segment AC. |
sacramento1212: 10:04pm On Apr 23, 2023 |
tizteezy: They may be good but i cannot vouch for their quality. Every brand new AC will work but the reliability, durability and sustainability are what we look out for. |
tizteezy(m): 7:50am On Apr 24, 2023 |
mangolpupa: I agree with you Original Malaysia Panasonic and Daikin are in the high end. I don't know why they gave room for the Chinese specs of Panasonic. That will only encourage fake units of their good brand |
tizteezy(m): 7:52am On Apr 24, 2023 |
sacramento1212: You always stoick to these few words.... Nice Just that Panasonic and Daikin are expensive for a lot of people. However, with the Chinese model of Panasonics, it might start getting difficult to be sure of buying the original Malaysia variant, IMHO |
sacramento1212: 10:30am On Apr 24, 2023 |
tizteezy: Yes, many result to settling for those unpopular brand names because of the price because the likes of Daikin, Panasonic, etc are pricey and not everyone will be able to afford it. Someone i know bought Midea and the difference is really clear in the aspect of Quality when compared to Panasonic of Daikin. Even LG beats it hands down in the aspect of quality. Personally, i won't buy them and if i cannot afford Panasonic or Daikin, I'll buy LG which is cheaper and quality better than those unpopular brands they keep introducing to the market. 1 Like |
