fashrola: Thank you chief I once saw Daikin at Panaserv though I don't know if they're original Daikin or another country of origin. |

Thank you but the information came in late. I had suspended the purchase I am about going again today Please I don't want an inverter unit coz of bad reviews about issues and poor cooling capacity. I want a low energy starter and low energy running unit that is durable and efficient. I've done researches and I'm confused. Panasonic, Gree and Daikin are too power hungry and expensive from my research. I've been looking at TCL and Scanfrost, but I must say I'm confused. Guys please help me make a choice 1hp or 1.5hp with low energy consumption, but non inverter mangolpupa: |

AnnieTiz:only inverter AC can give you low energy consumption o. About the inverter , na lie. I used hisense inverterAC and they are very rugged, I later sold it to get LG dual inverter, person wey I sell am to dey enjoy am. I think they have really improved on inverter s. Any non inverter is power hungry. You can get low voltage starters from non inverters too. but then, If I were to go for non inverter I would buy thermocool tundra or hisense. |
tizteezy(m): 6:48pm On Mar 23, 2023 |
nonny1212: But you'll see some non inverter ACs having lower energy input rating than some branded inverter ACs. For instance there's a TCL non inverter AC (1hp) that has 850w rating whereas there are inverter ACs with 900w or more. And the TCL is cheap at about 165k although with just one year warranty. I understand where AnnieTiz is concerned. I am equally concerned too. Something is not clear 3 Likes |

AnnieTiz: I hope you've gotten a unit. Please tell us which u went for and possible experiences with it. I'm equally in an almost same shoe with you |

Meanwhile Who knows much about TCL and Scanfrost units? I have been tempted by a TCL 1hp non Inverter with energy rating of 850w. Although I'm not convinced by their one year warranty. It's a cheap unit tho at 165k 1 Like |

sacramento1212: Thank you for reaching out Panasonic and Daikin inverters were too expensive for me. The vendor was trying to convince me on four products namely: Hisense, Skyrun, Scanfrost, TCL. I was tilting towards Scanfrost but I had to hold on for professional advise. The AC technician I know was just concerned about me getting any unit, not minding my satisfaction for money spent in this harsh economy. I went back home o. I'm sorry but I'm a very frugal person with money coz it's not easy getting it. I can't afford weekly repairs and I can't afford high cost of Panasonic either 1 Like |

Hello Guys, for a standard living room space Say 30 square meters, I'm stuck between buying 1.5hp or 2hp Inverter AC, thinking about buying LG btw. The cost for the 2hp is sooo much compared to 1.5hp, My question is, will 1.5hp serve a standard living room , or do I need to break the bank by all means for a 2hp? |
sacramento1212: 9:10pm On Mar 28, 2023 |
AnnieTiz: I will not buy hisense or scanfrost. I don't know much about skyrun or TCL. We have so much of the new names on Air-conditioner brands, even though they will work but I'm majorly after reliability and long term durability. If you cannot afford those reliable Brands, then go for LG. 1 Like |

sacramento1212: Why don't you like Scanfrost? Please educate me more |
sacramento1212: 12:12pm On Mar 31, 2023 |
tizteezy: They don't have a name when it comes to air-conditioning. There are brands that once you mention, you know what to expect from them. It's just like saying buying Hisense TV as against Samsung or Sony or even LG. Hisense doesn't measure up in this case in the aspect of quality. |
tizteezy(m): 6:16pm On Mar 31, 2023 |
sacramento1212: Okay chief I thought you've had or you know someone who's had terrible experiences with the brand's AC units |
sacramento1212: 2:07am On Apr 01, 2023 |
tizteezy: I've only used Scanfrost on a deep freezer but not air-conditioner. My experience with the brand wasn't good anyway. But one thing you should know is that every Brand new AC no matter the brand will work but long term durability or reliability will differ according to the Brand and that's what matters. I've a National window AC that is still working factory compressor, nothing worked on since it was bought since 2006 till date. Some Brands would have packed up and that's the long term durability i talk about. |
tizteezy(m): 4:45am On Apr 01, 2023 |
sacramento1212: You are right That's why the Panasonics and Daikins are expensive. You do recommend LG, but I think I see a lot of LG units pack up. I don't know if Kenstar units can stand the time test since it's from same Panasonic family |
sacramento1212: 3:30pm On Apr 01, 2023 |
tizteezy: Well, i recommend LG because they are relatively reliable when compared to the new names. Again, buying an LG unit from their authorized distributor which is Fouani will give you up to a year warranty. All the LG units I've purchased have all performed without any issue. I also heard Kenstar is good but one reason that makes people go for all those unpopular brands is majorly as a result of their budget. |

Sacramento1212 and other AC guru. I intend mounting my new inverter AC tomorrow. Someone said I should make sure they VACUM the AC because of air. So the performance will be good. The problem is this is the first time I'm hearing about vacumming AC during installation and some of the technician here are saying they do not know what that is. My friend said I should look for a professional to do it. He said it makes it cool well. My question is, must the AC be VACUMMEd? I'm asking incase I do not get professionals to do the vacumming during installation. Abi make I just go ahead mount am without doin the vacum thing |
sacramento1212: 11:30pm On Apr 02, 2023 |
nonnyviisuals: He's right but where will you get an installer that will do that for you? Many of them don't have the tools/equipment for that type of Job. But if you see anyone that has it, then go for it but if not, go ahead and install the unit. Even a car AC system, after you replace either compressor, condenser or evaporator and you need to add freon, then vacuuming will make the job perfect and chill better. But like i said, what we lack here is technicians with equipments for such. So don't bother yourself, go ahead and install. |
nonnyviisuals: 12:37am On Apr 03, 2023 |
sacramento1212:Lol. I called like 4 AC installers wey I know, all of them no even know wetin be the vacum ![]() I even ed fouani and they gave me an installer number, he say e never hear vacuming AC before ![]() . Our Naija technicians need better upgrade. Most of them just love and prefer old school. I can't come and kee myself, na to just call one of them make them mount am like that.. No added stress ![]() |
mangolpupa: 8:36am On Apr 03, 2023 |
nonnyviisuals: That person is right. Infact the recommended steps are to check the pressure on the lines and then vaccum the line. However upon researching, some ac don't need to be vacuumed apparently due to their design. There are lots of services which our technicians deliver to us which are subpar. It doesn't necessarily mean things won't work but it means at best, they won't work as well as designed or at worst, the will not reach the design product life. Is it possible to ask your friend that made that suggestion to recommend an installer for you. He must have made that valuable suggestion from experience. If you don't mind, what is the ac product or model |
nonnyviisuals: 8:41am On Apr 03, 2023 |
mangolpupa:I appreciate. I will ask him to recommend. But then, the challenge is he doesn't even stay within my location. E go dey stressful to transport his installer to my location. My Ac is LG dual inverter. I pray LG designed their AC to be installed without vacumming. All the installers my location na better old schls |
mangolpupa: 8:43am On Apr 03, 2023 |
nonnyviisuals: Wahala Wahala Wahala... when fouani recommended "professional" installers never hear about vacumming ac before gas installation. My 2 pennies advise, tarry a little and get it right, first time. You ac is new, it's a lot of money. The installation cost is a fraction of the item bought. If you can wait, spend small time and get ac installer that understands what needs to be done. |
nonny1212: 8:18am On Apr 05, 2023 |
mangolpupa:Ok thanks. this is my alt . I couldn't get any good installer who has the vacumming machine within the area. The locals ones around here complained the machine is expensive to acquire. I took the risk and mounted the AC like that. Make I review the AC |
nonny1212: 8:27am On Apr 05, 2023 |
Unlike their smart inverter. LG finish work for their dual inverter AC. This AC chills like mad. TOP NOTCH PERFORMANCE SO FAR. I mounted it in a room of 308sqft. Very big I even doubted it would work efficiently when I bought it(1.5hp). To my surprise, it cools like crazy. Far better than the inverter we used to know that only blows ordinary Cold air. I use it on 20-24°c yet, it freezes like it is on 16°c. I would gladly recommend an inverter AC now. Make una no fear again about performance. Inverter don improve especially LG 2 Likes |
mangolpupa: 8:44am On Apr 05, 2023 |
nonny1212: No wahala. I'm confident your AC will work just fine. Truth is many AC installed don't follow best practices like vacuuming etc. Which were put in place for reason. My brother just enjoy your AC jare. As a side note, technical knowledge and application in the country is abysmal. And if you're someone that likes to know what is going on with your job. You will be shocked. Back in the day, it should be technicians educating "you" on solutions and procedures. Today, it's customers suggesting solutions and procedures. |
