Hello house, please advice me. I have started my visa application online, I got to the port number stage, the problem is the port no on my COS is missing and I have a new port now. The question is which port number should i use on my application. The one on my COS or the new one?

Hello house, I wrote here few weeks back about my application which my sponsor made a mistake in the COS. Today I received a refusal mail from home office with option of istrative review. My sponsor has already applied for a new COS, the previous COS was undefined which is only allocated to applicants within Uk. I tracked the application and it’s still with DMC but I’m a bit confused because the date on the refusal is 21-06–2022 and it was stated on the letter that I have 28days from the day I receive the decision to apply for istrative review. Has anyone experienced this and also if I’m able to get a new COS, how long does the process take ? Help a brother please |

21st is still early though but notwithstanding, you will get a decision soon. My wife is the main applicant and we did our biometric on 14th at ikeja tls and on 21st we made a paid call which decision has been made already. Waiting for it to move to VAC

Gbolah21: I think you should file for the istrative review as soon as possible and send then send your updated COS to them once you get it. |
dee1504: 11:11pm On Jul 25, 2022 |
Gbolah21: The fact that you used a wrong CoS type means you used a false document (unintentionally though), which, in my opinion, has no grounds for an appeal/istrative review. I would advise you to start your application all over again with the new CoS. However, if you feel you want apply for istrative review, then do so by all means. Good luck and Godspeed 2 Likes 1 Share |

Jblogs38: Thank you, I will do that asap and how long does the istrative review take to get a decision. |
Gbolah21: 11:23pm On Jul 25, 2022 |
dee1504: The error was from my sponsor, they gave out undefined COS ( for people within uk ) instead of defined COS ( for people overseas). I just want to know if the istrative review actually works. I read on the uk site that it takes about 6 month and I don’t think I can reapply cause port is still with dmc 4 Likes |

Gbolah21: AR works no doubt, but you can’t put an actual time frame to it. It might be less than 6 months and at times way more than 6 months. Besides the visa officer didn’t make an error. The error was from your part (your employer) and the visa officer has made a right decision, so AR might not work in this case (I stand to be corrected). I would advice you get the correct document and apply again so you can get your visa in about 3 weeks instead of waiting months for AR that might not even come out positive. IMO It’s better to wait to get your port and reapply. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Good afternoon guys. I made a mistake on my daughter's port number while filling the application. I have submitted the application but have not gone for biometrics. There is no way to edit it. What can I do?
