I read somewhere that a week is enough for the whole decision making process. Once ur file gets to an ECO, it takes an experienced one roughly 5mins to make a decision for visitor visa or upto 20mins for spouse visa. He quickly fills a form online for vignette to be printed on ur port. If the place where the port is held is close to ur country, then u should receive port visa next working day max. Refusals take longer to make and more time to type the letter.

So the 6-8weeks waiting time is because the visa is neither priority service nor UK's priority right now (Ukrainian applicants are) and high volumes of applications. So staffs are likely stretched and if that is so, in big organization sick leaves is usually inevitable = likely increase waiting times. I suppose they are doing their best. It's not easy anywhere.

Usually between 3-5weeks

There was an option for expidited service before but it's temporarily suspended cos of the Ukraine crisis.

With this WHO Red list in place, will this affect getting jobs directly from care homes. By direct, I mean not via recruitment agencies. I have a care home that's willing to give me sponsorship and I know the owner personally but he's having doubts about this red list thing and sayin nigeria has been banned from applying for Health care jobs in the UK, from Nigeria. Please advice.

Look for other alternatives, those getting COS are they not from redlist country.. Some of them, don't want you to come o... That's the truth, the fact that they keep makng it look like they really cared for ur coming is disgustin g. May you get help where u least expected.... A friend told me how the offer to bring ya person was thrown to staffs, all the Nigs. Refused... They ain't bringing no one... Keep pushing,

You should wait till you receive the result notification email, it typically extends the days they write on your test taker portal so it may drop today or latest next week. But you should reach out to your test center via a phone call and email

It will come just be patient, I had similar experiences. I did mine June 1 the result appeared on the portal yesterday.

Its staed 479£ for care visa...
However...this is the issue ....
Depending on exchange rate for the day..that will determine what you will be debited...

Its funny because the charge will evwntualky show in dollars not in pounds as shown on UKVi website.......so if the exchange rate of pounds to dollars has changed for that day...you might end up paying more than 479£...i payed for a client with a uk card which is in GBP and was debited 491£
