In a case where buyer is insisting on $70 , but Dan's minimum price is $100
Can I still use the import lead?
PS: willing to sell if he'll make it $100 and use Dan
You can import it as a lead and not as a transaction giving room for further negotiation. Some persons change the nameservers to Epik and sell at $70. Though, for me, I'm not willing to go less than 100.
These are your options.
1. Try to convince and tell him the minimum accepted amount in the marketplace is 100. Explain to him that the market can not sell below that price. And I believe if someone is willing to pay $70, there is a higher probability that reason can make them add an extra 30.
2. Ask him if he's comfortable with Epik and finish it off there if he disagrees with the first option.
But if I were in your shoes I will only be desperate to push him to Epik if the domain is about to expire and I have no intentions of renewal or if it's a poorly thought name. Aside that, I will focus on him paying the minimum on Dan.

Thank you
Tried explaining, but he didn't agree and wished me good luck
He's not willing to go more than that
It is still less than 60 days, so there's no desperation on my end
I've reached out to other end s and I'm optimistic they'll also respond well

Relax then. Do manual scrapping if you haven't done that. You can also drop him a last message. Explain to him again and end by telling him that a $100 confirmation mail is going to come from the company. If he ever changes his mind he can accept and proceed. If not, he can simply ignore it. Then go ahead and import it.

Sale report
HT: 2+ months
BIN: 500
SP: 300

Glory to God for the sale!
This one is a reminder that GoDaddy's acquisition of Dan is a bitter-sweet one - increased trust and possibly higher commissions. Afternic/GoDaddy basically got 60 bucks off this just for using them as an escrow!
Well, na still profit sha.

Crazeworld:
It's a very good question. There are different reasons but the most important is for upgrade.
1. For upgrade.
Most start-ups are financially constrained when setting things up so they may not be able to afford the best name for their business. The next best thing to do in such cases would be to lesser extensions or add prefixes/suffixes to find available names. They could even decide to go for a different name entirely from the keyword they would have loved to use. Facebook started as The Facebook, Nike was formerly called Blue Ribbon Sports, Xiaomi upgraded to mi.com, etc. There are many of those upgrades every month which doesn't make the news.
2. Traffic
Some domain names which has been used in the past has good traffic. If such domains are redirected to a new website, they will help the domain gain visitors especially if the contents on the referring domain is related to what the new website offers. For example, if Nairaland.com were to shut down and the domain is redirected to a blog like lindaikeji, the traffic the referring domain provides alone will make Linda Ikeji's website the most popular among Nigerians. More visitors means more money.
3. Authority
A good domain conveys authority in that industry. Amazon is a top brand already but they have some very good one-word domains redirecting to their website as well. Which would you trust more between shoes.com and WeSellShoes.com? Having shoes.com redirecting to your e-commerce store for example would make people buy more from you. Some top brands also acquire solid names which can help them diversify in the future. You can also call it brand protection. I think Amazon owns Accept, Look, Exchange, all in dot com.
That aside, having Geo domain names redirecting to your website confirms you as authority in that city who offers that service. Names like AustinPlumber, DallasRealtor, ChicagoDentist, SeattleFlorist, etc. will get snapped up by businesses if they are available even though one of them (realtor) is a trademarked word.
4. Staying ahead of competitors
As weird as this sounds, some business owners acquire domain names pitched to them not because they need it but because they would rather other businesses don't have it. This is the reason why some Geo domain names bought by end s don't redirect away from where it sold even though the person that purchased it is still in business.
I believe others will explain more.
Nice read bro, you just gave another nugget for sales email template.

It's pretty straightforward. Just visit brand new name//com, and start pitching ideas, no payment required.

Not really. I "generated" the name, but it appeared to have dropped before then and so was available at the time. Can't clearly right now.

What's the current status of the domain? How did the name get sold on Afternic? I thought expired names are delisted(pending review)
When I search for my expired names on Afternic, it doesn't come up. A search on godaddy will tell you that the name has been taken.
I am really curious

I am even as confused as you are. I just received email yesterday. The domain is still showing on my afternic but expired since last year

I think I have explained this before. It doesn't matter if you don't have a Dom or PayPal. Once you want to receive your proceeds, use a paypal exchanger's services. There are many of them rendering this unique service even here on NL. He will receive the funds on your behalf, buy it at his own rate and and transfer the equivalent into your local bank same day.
For example, if you sold a domain at afternic, you will be notified through email that your domain has been sold. The next stage is to transfer your domain to them before they will pay you. Once the transfer is completed, you will be asked to choose from options on how you want your funds to be disbursed. Simply an exchanger, tell him the details about your deal; what you sell, market place and how much.
That's all. He will give you his verified PayPal email address which you in turn will summit to your manager @ afternic as your option to receive your funds. Once the funds are released, you will be notified and everything will be finalised that same day with your PayPal exchanger. me directly if you need more help concerning this. You can equally use a domiciliary (bank wire) to receive your funds if you're in anyway skeptical about this.
