Please house, does anyone know why a name will drop twice in a single year? Was checking the history of a domain and saw it dropped twice in a particular year. How possible is that? I thought a name can only drop once in a year since an active name can only expire the following year if not renewed.

Maybe the name got deleted, then got ed by someone else

Yes, it can.

Some of these registrars do it as well. They take a name, then remove it after some months from their platform, hence it goes back to pending delete. When you check deleted names sometimes, you see a name acquired in 2022 dropping in 2022.

I've seen Sav do this sometimes.

Mistakes in spelling. E.g ing a name with the inclusion of centre instead of center considering the fact that your end s do not follow British English. Or you found out there are no ends or you found out it's just plain shit.

I know dynadot doesn't have a limit unless the maximum deleted domains have reached a fixed percentage. But their $3 domain fee na die.

Can't . That was in 2020 or early 2021. I must have deleted about 10 in one month. They do give a refund that's almost the same amount you paid to get the fees.
