as at april they launched them onto the new e port system.. i dnt know if they have fully activated this.. but yes they were launched onto this. So they will require NIN.
U might need to ask on this thread for anyone tht applied recently or stroll to the office to find out.
If it is confirmed that it is compulsory, pls jejely go and get ur nin. Nin is free.

pls chase up ur nin. Why will u forfeit thousands of naira on two applications. Look for a nin office with little or no crowd and get in

Armed with ur receipt, any official document with this new name and application letter go to a nin office tht is not too crowded. U can capture same day and get d new slip same day or not too long after

For those that will be going to Alausa port office via DIY route, ensure you ask questions as many times as possible from those Servicom people esp the two ladies by the stairs inside cos they will intentionally withhold information on the next stage just to make you fall into the hands of their fellow officers for some amount of money. There is another form to be attached to other document in your file (3pcs) ,they may lie to you that the form is available online and ask that you go back &print, tell them it is not ,they will eventually give you and ask you to make copies and return their's.

It took exactly one month for my wife’s NIN to drop on NIS portal after she did change of name on her NIN. If possible I’ll suggest your friend wait for additional two weeks but if she want to runs the dropping, it will most likely cost her #10,000 (from what I heard from those runs guys in Alausa) which I don’t recommend.

Please sir my daughter nin number was given to her since last year November and till now as I speak the nin hasn’t dropped at port office… please what do you suggest I do.

Once they give you the NIS file back with your originals in it, just find your way to the room before the capturing room and drop ur file for vetting. After that you will be asked to come back for capturing after a week .

What do you mean by application letter?? Does it affect fresh applicant as well, if yes can you kindly provide a sample. Thanks

The day given to me for interview is on 25th of June. Did you say there's a possibility that I might not get captured that day because they want to vett my file. What's the implications going straight for the capturing? Just because I don't want to wait for another week to come and capture again. Or can I just do the vetting tomorrow which is not yet my interview date and later come for capturing the following week

Please does THIS mean to say interview date and capture date aren't SAME? Both done on different days?

You won't get captured same day if it is DIY. I guess that is cos of NIN & online payment confirmation. Even those paying runs money for fresh port have to wait till after somedays or a week as well before they can capture and if you go for capturing without that you will be sent back when you get to the room cos your file will have no stamp /signature till it goes thru necessary desk. As per vetting you don't have to wait till the interview date,you can try sort that out tomorrow
