I want to apply for a Nigeria International port, where do I begin please as am a complete Novice. I currently based in Edo State.

I mean the Maitama Express center is all the proof anyone needs to know that the Min. of Interior and the NIS boss aren't pissed that some of the officers are cashing out; they are only pissed they aren't the ones doing the cashing out. The business/business strategy even becomes clearer when you think about all those kangaroo announcements that seeks to crack down on the competition. More so, the 30k fee and the 72 hours max collection time. I should have thought getting ports from centers like this should be FREE of additional charges especially for people who have medical emergencies or for select categories of people who can prove looming scholarship or job opportunity deadlines. Alas, this is Nigeria where the corrupt are the ones in charge of fighting corruption. This is why I laugh when some people here say "there's nothing like Express anymore."

They're starting April on Tuesday.
They finished February and March within a week, so I guess things should move fast from here on out since Applications aren't as much.

So I was at Awka today, this woman asked that I pay #35k i just agreed, then she later said she's not assuring me of getting in 6 weeks but 2 months n i was like but that wasn't what we discussed but i was still like since I've come there's no point going home without getting it done only for her to tell me I'll still pay her 10k for production.. I renewed my port this week and it only took a few hours.

I spoke to several immigration officers and none of them could guarantee to deliver in less than a week. One of them referred me to the express center in maitama abuja.

The crowd there was terrible! And their capacity was about 150 persons a day or so. After 2 days of hanging around, i was finally able to get in. I was captured and 3 hours later i picked up my port.

For those who desperately need pp and cant wait for the standard 6 weeks, express center is available.

Just pay the N26k online and attach your documents. Select maitama abuja as location for capture. You will need the payment printout to gain entry. Prepare your heart for the huge crowd you will meet. But once you get in and captured, you will definitely get your port in less than 24 hours.

I forgot to add that you will pay N30,000 before capture (express fee). You can only pay with card so go with your atm card.
So total is N56000.

I want to renew my port but the D.O.B on my NIN is different from the one on my expired port. Which D.O.B will show on my new port?

I skipped it in my own application since it is not compulsory

Most of you who haven't collected your port or not sure if it is ready yet, it is better to check your name on the list of uncollected ports on the Immigration website.

Read previous pages. The question has been answered many times. Or rather visit portal.immigration.gov.ng, then select application guideline under port.
