HI Guys,
I applied F2 visa for my wife, and she was refused a visa based on how long the marriage has been. We got married on the 28th of Aug, 2024, and she applied and had her interview yesterday. The VO told her that the marriage is still young and maybe could apply after 6 months. We plan to apply again in December, but we'll be going together this time because I plan to renew my visa.
Who has experience with the VO F2 visa application and can advise on what to do? Do you think it's right for us to go together this December for the interview? Will it affect my renewal process since I am still a student here in the US?
Anyone with similar experience should pls help out

How're you faring over there after your internship?
Did they retain you?
Oh boss,
Its a long story.
I got retained in the genomics lab headed by Dr Karim-Cesay in 2020 as a Trainee scientific officer and was promoted to Scientific officer in 2022. I resigned in Aug2023 to begin my Phd in genetics and genomic at Iowa State University.
I was just going through my nairaland post and I read your insightful comment there. I am sure you're one of the angels sent to motivate me to pursue that path in 2019.
Its never too late to say Thank you.

Hi,
You have a unique case and I can understand your confusion.
Did the VO say why they moved your appointment to Dakar?
If all your documents are bearing Gambia and they turned you back and asked you go to Senegal, they owe you an explanation and should take responsibility.
My suggestions:
1. Since you have mailed the Consulate in Gambia, wait on their reply. I am assuming you mailed [email protected]. You can also try mailing [email protected] and calling +220 4384443 or +1 734 274 5048 (from the U.S.). These are the details available on the US Visa appointment site for Gambia
2. Raise a ticket on your AVITS profile
3. Try to reach them using the details in the screenshot attached
Give them a few working days to reply the mail and then send a followup.
I raised a ticket on the portal and this is the response ::
'Thank you for ing the U.S. Visa and American Citizens Service. We understand that you are inquiring about confirming the details of the appointment. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and appreciate you reaching out to us. Upon checking the the post is for Banjul. If you were not able to attend your appointment, please wait until the next business day - your appointment will be marked as ''no show'' and you will be able to reschedule, within the rescheduling limit fixed by the U.S. Embassy or Consulate. Please note that once you reach your rescheduling limit, you will need to pay a new visa fee in order to be able to schedule again, even if your last appointment was marked as ''no show''. We hope you find this information useful. Please visit www.usvisaappt.com for further details. Best Regards, U.S. Visa and American Citizens Service'

Thank you so much for this..
I called the number and they also seem confused. He said probably it's a misunderstanding based on the nationality on the applicants. However, he said we should wait for 1 business day for the appointment to appear as no show after which we can reschedule for a later day with the Same MRV.
It's past 1 business day tho and it's still not having no show, rather it's showing "No active receipt found for this applicant".. is this the same message it shows when one is denied visa, do you have idea of what this message signifies.
Ps: The consular in Gambia doesn't respond to visa application email, although I called them and they told me they are as confused as I am and since the process of application doesn't lie with them, there's nothing they can do about it.

Pls has anyone experienced this kinda situation beofe. My F2 visa interview was scheduled today by 8am in Banjul, Gambia. My Ds 160, appointment letter and Receipt all showing Gambia as location of interview but on getting to meet the VO, I was told that my visa interview is to be done in Dakar, A neighboring country. I'm confused and devastated.
Has anyone experienced this before.. and what can I do.
Ive sent email to the consular here in Gambia but there's no response. Also the calls are not helping as the person answering the phone is not familiar with the process.
Can i just forget the MRV and reschedule another interview in Senegal then

FCT is never treated as a State. It stands alone for candidate to win 25% of votes as requirement for winning presidential election.
If FCT is treated as a State; why is gubernatorial election not held rather it's ister by Mr. President via a minister.
I'm ashamed that a lawyer of Falana status exhibit tribal bigotry on a simple phrase in our constitution. Probably he wants to be hired by BAT to get his share of the illicit cash of a drug baron.

You're a big fool,
I'm sorry to say.
So after reconfirming that he attended the university, you still want to see the credentials he presented before been itted.
So a school like Chicago University will award him a degree or even it him without due process. Its time we leave this certificate issues and face other pressing needs as regards BAT. I want him disqualified by all means, but you see this certificate is just too watery.

Thanks for this post.
You just spoke my mind.
I said same thing on twitter yesterday. Truth is we are towing the same line of ignorance we towed in 2015 that brought this present istration in power. What if this certificate saga is a delibrate effort from Tinubu to firstly keep his name on lips of every voter or/and just take their mind away from asking cogent questions that involves governance. Chicago University came out to clearly state that Tinubu graduated from the university. He worked for mobil and delloite andd you all think he must have forged certificate to work in those companies. Social media politician like to act and think smart, but their smartness is usually in reverse.
adefitim:
Indomie age, read this.
Most times, "social media politicians" don't learn vital lessons from past mistakes.
In 2014/15, all you did was looking for Buhari's certificate when you could have used that precious time to engage with fence sitters to lure them into your camp. Rather, you were so fixated on a retired General's school certificate.
This time around, have seen trending now questions about where BAT attended primary and secondary school. Thank God they are not saying he did not attend University. They did not say he did not have a first class degree in ing and was a University scholar who graduated top of his class with full scholarship!
Also, they did not say he did not work with top multinational companies like Delloitte and retired as Treasurer of Mobil. They avoided all those ones but are clawing on straws about his primary and secondary education.
They keep doing the same thing every time, yet expected a different result. You will think the voyage they took in 2014/15 chasing Buhari's certificate would have taught them a lesson in how not to chase shadows but face real issues by challenging the capacity of candidates to govern. Asking critical questions about how BAT planned to turn the economy around etc and other very germane issues expected of very demanding citizens. But na lie...they must all chase shadows.
A matter that the almighty late Gani Fawehimi, SAN pursued in court in 2000 and LAHA investigated and nothing came out of it is what you guys are carrying around almost 20 years after and you think you can use that to stop Tinubu. I dare you all to use that fake document you are posting around to sue him! Guess who was Tinubu’s lawyer when this matter was trashed 20 years ago? Equally fiery Femi Falana, SAN.
A lot of you don't even know how it was difficult in the past to get funding for a secondary school education. My father ed secondary school entrance examination twice to the popular Christ school, Ado Ekiti but could not attend because his father could not afford the tuition. That was the experience of most of our parents and that of Tinubu’s generation.
May father did not have secondary school education but later in life has multiple degrees from the University of Ibadan and retired as an English Lecturer. My Uncle, who died recently also did not see the four walls of a secondary school but ended up with a PhD from University of Ife. My other Uncle who might be reading this, also did not attend a secondary school but ended up at London Polytechnic in the 70s and later with a FG scholarship attended Norfolk State University, Virginia to study Mechanical Engineering. He also retired as a Lecturer from the Polytechnic, Ibadan.
Now, the question is, how did they all get the requirements to enter University? A lot of you thought it's like nowadays when only what you need to get ission into tertiary institution is a WAEC and Jamb. In the past, there are different routes to gain ission into the University. Some is by doing correspondence courses which earns you required point average for University issions.
These are brilliant folks who for lack of money were not able to attend conventional schools and attend University the way you all understand it nowadays. But it did not stop them from forging ahead to do all what was necessary to reach the peak of thier educational pursuit.
In fact, in the past, your years of experience in certain line of job after your Modern school certificate (many don't even know what a modern school is) and ability to write an essay in that line and an entrance exam set by the University can earn you ission to study a course in that line where you have worked for 10 years. Your years of experience in that field earn you points to be considered fit for ission once you can aso the entrance exam. Some, it is a teacher's training certificate and doing well in university entrance exam that earned them university ission.
You think Tinubu is a fool? A man would wait all these years, working and running around to build a political war machine and would not have all areas covered? What did not stop him to become governor in 1999, you think you can now use that to stop him in 2022/23? Do you guys ever think deeply at all?
Tinubu attended Richard J. Daley College in Chicago in US where he obtained his High school diploma...they don't do WAEC in the US. Get that straight into your medulla oblagatta.
What you get as a certificate after completion is known as high school diploma not waec. This can be earned within 2, 3 or 4 years depending on your brilliance and your grade. Click the link below to see how many years Tinubu spent to earn a brilliant grade and set a record in that college.
Anyway, make una continue to dey chase shadows. Some of you need to go back home and ask elders how things are done in the past. Some don't know more than the bridge of your nose.
For those of you who are wise enough to read in order to learn click the link and read from Tinubu himself how from poverty he rose to become a toast of the Chicago State Universit y and the best graduating student of his set.
