MY GRE EXPERIENCE

I told myself that whether or not the result is a 'good' result. I must give an of my experience. I must say, initially there was this feeling of 'my story is not inspiring , why share?'

I got to the venue quite early, like 45 minutes before the scheduled time. You get checked in as soon as you are ready and so you may start earlier than your scheduled time just like it happened to many of us. i Planned to got to the venue with banana, nuts, snacks and energy drink but only ended going with lucoz.. and that was enough. Although, i noticed my verbal section was getting ready to start probably because i didn't choose to go for 10 min break. it is important to take everything said on this platform seriously.

it was VQVQV. it really was not important spotting which of the sections is the experimental. the first quantitative was a roller coaster. Second quantitative however, was not joy all through. i got stuck with the DI, could not interpret the table. I lost my composure and had to guess 3 questions, that was a very bad thing to do and that i thought was my greatest undoing. The problem was pacing, and not creating enough time for the later part. I got complacent, not very mindful of my pace and i got punished.

Verbal on the other hand - during Prep i discovered late that my RC improved and the nuances in TC was a latent problem. especially three blanks types. I used to get like half of the total number of TC questions.

Prospective test takers should be methodical in their preparations. you must be able to track your progress, have a separate note from the one you work and scribble on. After that taking a full length practice test, a thorough review must be done make sure the problems are addressed.i did not do all that, not because i did not want to but because of work schedule. i get home tired everyday tired.

In the end, it was V:154 Q157 i saw after reporting the scores. BELOW MY EXPECTATION REALLY BUT ALL PRAISE STILL BELONG TO THE ALMIGHTY. I WILL TRY APPLICATIONS WITH THIS AND I AM QUITE HOPEFUL.

Someone needed me to publish it on my blog but I don't have the audience who will respond. Many may think differently based on religion believes but read:

These things started on August, he said he woke up one night as he felt someone was looking at him. With eye sleep, he said he saw a dark animal shadow and kicked it but nothing really was there. He thought it was his mind playing games with him.

Some days later, he was in dream as this same animal like dark shadow was approaching him while he sleep. Unable to get up, he screamed. Each time, he screamed, the shadow will withdraw...But then it keep coming and suddenly his parents entered his room, he woke up. They told him he was screaming.

Another night, it was like someone was pressing his chest and he was shaking like one having epilepsy. He felt the force on top of his chest. He was also screaming. His parent entered his room. They thought it is fever. But he was advise to change sleeping position.


Another night, he said he felt someone turning him over to face up and started feeling shock. His body was intently hot and he was also sweating. His parent came to his room and then he stop screaming.

To cut the story short, he started sleeping face down. Initially he thought it was sleep paralysis. But this time, he was always feeling a force over his back, paralysing him, so he can't move but when he utter God's name repeatedly, the thing stopped.

Then each night, he realized that, he could no longer utter God's name. He only make noise so his parent could come and each time they are entering his room, the thing normally stop.

But one time, he opened his eyes the night he put on his phone torch light. He said he saw a shadow with claws while facing the wall. Another night he saw shadow snake. And the last night, which was terrible, he struggled shouting and no one was coming to rescue him. He almost gave up until his parent manage to hear. He noticed that when his parent were coming, the shadow breeze away.

He has done all tests and the results are okay. So he finally opened up to his parent that a friend has been telling him, her mother and brother are diabolical. That are always attack anyone who is ing her. She said people she has once lived with, also experience night attack during sleep. And when they make inquiry, they are always told it is her mother.
So they always drive her away.

She even insisted that my friend tell his parents about her mum so they can know what to do. So my friend parent decided to try something. They slept in his room for 3 days with him and nothing happen.

They also allow him to sleep with them in their room and nothing happen. When he sleeps with people, that force doesn't attack him.

His sisters also slept in his room alone some nights, and nothing happened.

But then, the lady in question said he should stay far away from her so he can be safe. She sent an apology message that she is sorry for all what he put him through.

The guy is deeply depressed cos he doesn't know who is really attacking him, if it really the girl's mum or brother, if it is his mind, sleep paralysis or other people.

He got a lucrative job recently in petroleum sector but he didn't take it. Cos he will need to relocate and no one to stay with him. Also his currently business is down cos he has no motivation anymore. All he thinks about is his life and why is this happening to him. He is above 27yrs and he is the most intelligent, generous child of his parent. He always come to the family rescue in difficult times, he also does the same to others. Now he feel so sick, weak and tired to do anything.

Nairalander, what do you guys think? Could the lady be right? Or it just coincidental? Or is it another person attacking him?

I graduated with 4.24/5 and seek to apply into any of these institutions for Msc (Agricultural Economics); uni nebraska lincoln, tennesse state uni, uni kentucky lexington and western kentucky uni. Do i stand any chance of gaining ission(fully funded)? If yes, what's the way forward and how do i go about it?

Hello, although someone has said it all. I also intend studying agricultural economics Msc also. I noticed through my research most us schools for that course need a min score of 300, and some even go as far as minimum of 160 for your Quant. All the same wish you the best. If you find any school that accept less, let us know..

I'm not applying to the MBA program, I'm applying to Masters in Finance program; I do not have the work exp. required to be effective in an MBA program. The MFin I'm looking at are early careers programs. They do not require any experience; in fact, they require that applicants to have no more than 3 years of work experience.

As per my general profile;
I graduated about 18 months ago.
UG GPA: 4.85/5.00
I've done five finance internships both as an UG and post graduation and will soon complete NYSC. I've also held student leadership positions and I can wait to highlight them on my application.
GRE: 324

The Program I'm applying to are actually STEM-based; they're more "quantitative finance" than "finance".

That's more like it. There was a school I checked and they required TOEFL, I mailed the school stating we speak English in Nigeria and I was taught in English. They replied that if I was taught in English that TOEFL is waived.

So mail the school and ask..

Your best option is peruse the school's website and check it's ission requirements for international students.

The problem I'm having with schools in the US is that my score is very low... despite using WES calculator, most of the school are saying they calculate my GPA as 2.5/4 . the schools are West Texas A & M University, Southern Illinois university carbondale , Washington State University despite the schools saying the minimum requirement is 2.7/4.0 ..Please guys, what is wrong in this my Result . I have 3.24/5.0 and they are saying its very low.. Please give me advise... I have applied for Murray State University now.. Please what do you think I should do and what is wrong with it?

From the Lil I can understand, you Prolly didn't do your research well, why should u apply to a school that needs a minimum of 2.7 /4 and u said yours is 2.5/4, you just wasting your time.

My advise to add to what others have said, do a proper research, find out school requirements for ission, not just schools but departments also, some departments may require other conditions aside the school own. And also mail the school and ask for information where u ain't clear. Best of luck

I'm a graduate of economics and I want to switch to agricultural economics , I want to know if agricultural economics is seen as a STEM course (I know it's a science course and not a social science course). And will like to know what re the funding opportunities in that field.

If anyone knows any other course of institution with good funding that an economist can switch to with ease please kindly suggest here. (buh I'm still bent on agricultural economics).

Lastly, I'm looking for study partners in Uyo or calabar (Uyo is preferred, because that's where I am serving). Kindly pm me
