Chuchunana:
Arrived ORD by 3:30pm (flew Emirates)...omo, come and see crowd. After going round and round in a never ending queue, I finally scanned my port and printed the receipt and shortly after directed to an officer...
Cbp...is this your first time in America
Me...no, this is third visit
Cbp...when last did you visit
Me...2016
Cbp...who are you visiting
Me...A friend
Cbp...same friend you visited on your previous visits
Me...yes
Cbp...how long will you be staying
Me...16 days
Cbp...where do you leave and what do you do
Me...Lagos and I work at ******* as ********
Cbp...do you have any food
Me...yes and I've declared all
Cbp...Welcome again to America, stamps me in for 6 months
Me...Thank you
Meanwhile, a naija guy that was ahead of me was stamped for just 3 weeks (the duration of his ticket), he stayed for 4-5 months on his previous visit and the Cbp officer kept grilling him about that.
This is my second entry through Chicago, it's not that bad except your story has k-leg.
Yup, I kept saying it since that ORD ain't bad it just depends on how consistent and plausible the story is, on the part of the traveller. Some people stories dey always get K-leg and then they come crying on NL how they were sent back.
Whether you are applying for Visa or entering the USA, its always best to prepay your medical fees since you are trying to eliminate any possible excuse the officer can have to prevent you from entering the United States.
Not entirely true. I have witnessed, first hand where such payments were rejected till after the procedure. It might have worked for some people but that's no premise to say it's the best option.
And no one said it was! Perhaps you should have a re-read of the original post before jumping into conclusions, Mr. Know-It-All!!
It baffling when one tries to point out something not so true these days, it becomes an avenue for silly competition and insults. Anyway, it's social media and anyone can say shit. You have a right to your opinion and so do I. Thanks for the compliment by the way.
My husband is suggesting that I get uk visa, he said I can do fast track and get within one week and then apply for US... how possible is that? He said a friend of his did fast track for his uk visa and got under 5days.
Mere speculations. It's not stated anywhere that a UK visa is a prerequisite to getting an American visa. I got my US visa on a new port with not a single travel experience.
They send back both preggy and individaul or stress the living day out of you.
I even read a case of a guy that his visa was cancelled on leaving the US through Chicago POE, am sure you havent heard that before right, go search the Point of Entry thread and see for yourself.
You can search and read up people's experiences.
If in doubt, when next you travel, make your POE Chicago and come give us a
Well, that's the reason I keep asking this question. @ your last paragraph. I flew into the US with my pregnant wife more than 3 weeks ago, we ed through and I also just got back about a week ago through same airport in Chicago. Am I missing something?
Everything depends on the individual. If you know your true purpose of travel, why have jitters and give incoherent stories when asked? Still not convinced ma'am
Sandypat:
Hi, just ensure you don't enter through Chicago POE.
My two cents!
uote author=sucre26 post=70822872]Hi everyone, please I need your advice. I want to go to Chicago via Delta Airlines. There will be a stopover in Newyork. Will the point of entry be in Newyork or Chicago? I’m really trying to avoid Chicago point of entry. Has anyone ever had a connecting flight with Delta Airlines?
Again I ask, what is wrong with Chicago POE? Let's stop creating this fear for people please. As long as your intentions are genuine and story coherent/straight forward, you have nothing to fear.
IyawoSmith:
I mean hospital prepayment.
A colleague of mine said it may be easier at POE if you have paid some money to the hospital but I dont think I can do that outside Dr Funso as he was the first line of
All these are mere speculations people. That someone embarked on a journey and successfully executes it does not validate his or her style/approach. When in doubt, you can ask the hospital or go to CBP website rather than all these wishy-washy advises people keep throwing out that are not standards.
What if one pre-pays the hospital bill but never makes it through CBP officers. Make Una take am easy o, abeg.
madridguy: President Buhari remains fit and sprightly, even for the next decade.
Sai Baba till 2050.
Hey douchebag, why stop at 2050, why not say "forever or till ur balls drop beyond your ankle" How is that for fitness of office. Don't go and look for something productive to engage in.
Thanks. This is very detailed and funny at the same time.
So do you suggest I just go ahead and declare the money?
Of course, always declare your money. It saves you a whole lot of stress. It's not a crime to take money to the US but be sure to declare it when it's more than $9,999.
Nigeria's Currency Export Regulations (Official):
For all residents: local currency (Nigerian Naira-NGN): up to NGN 5,000.- in banknotes. Foreign currencies: up to USD 5,000.-. Exceeding amounts must be declared upon departure. Non-residents: local currency: up to NGN 5,000.- in banknotes, provided declared upon departure. foreign currencies: up to the amounts imported and declared on arrival.
Nigeria's Currency Export Regulations (Reality):
Once you 'settle' immigration, you can travel with any amount you like. You only have the currency import regulation of the country to which you are carrying the money, to contend with.
Nigerian Immigration will not ordinarily pat you down to search for excess cash except someone has snitched on you or you foolishly d your plenty cash at the airport. However, they will usually ask you and even check your port to see if you collected PTA. If you declared the cash yourself, you can attempt to negotiate a settlement for them to allow you board. Don't be fooled, no matter your British accent, you must drop something. . However, if you did not declare the cash and they discovered it themselves You only have your village people to blame. Be prepared to go through the drama of them seizing the cash, threatening you with money laundering charges and if you are not cooperating, they can delay your boarding until you miss the flight, or commence cooperation, whichever comes first.
Don't make it sound all that bad, we went thru Abuja airport two weeks ago with about $12k and the immigration guys there were all so kind and made us do the proper thing then wished us a safe trip. Just saying
Chuchunana:
Mamas and soon to be Mamas...please when traveling with substantial amount of money, where's the safest and best place to keep it...
Do you put it in your hand luggage or your checked in luggage...
Buy a travel neck or waist pouch/bag. that's what I use.
Good morning peeps.
DW, toddler and I just got into the USA through Chicago ORD. Flight was with LH from ABV
INTERVIEW EXCERPTS:
CBP Officer: Good morning, ports, please.
Me : Good morning, hands over our ports. 2 green and 1 blue.
CBP officer: Why are you here?
Me: Childbirth and vacation.
CBP officer : How long are you here for?
Me : 17 days but DW and toddler will be here for 4months. I will be back in November to get em though.
CBP officer: Have you got any cash and food to declare?
Me : yes.
CBP officer: Do you have your doctor's correspondence?
Me: Yes please, hands them over.
CBP officer: Stamps me in for 6 months, the toddler is one of em, no stamp. Then directs us to secondary inspection.
Those ones kept us waiting for close to 30mins before calling DW into CBP office.
They asked her if she had all the expenses planned out and not hoping to access any govt aid. Then advised her to keep all her payments receipts. Agric guys didn't check our bags cos I already stated we had dried snails, egusi, pap etc. We missed our connecting flight but that's fine, we got another.
thanks to God, it was a smooth sail, hence, ORD nightmare myth is broken.
Yes oooo broken at last, if you have nothing to hide you can land in any International airport in U.S OF A and I wish you and your lovely family best of luck.
@Seyewest, what exactly do you have against Chicago POE?

If your Medulla system is working perfectly. You should i gave valid reasons why this thread was created, but your comprehension problem is fast becoming a threat to humanity. Go deal with that.
Is this gibberish you just typed supposed to be your almighty clap-back? it's a pity bro. Besides, there is no such thing as Medulla System unless of course, you meant to type medullary system or medulla oblongata, pea brain . Try again hot shot.
Coming here to spew thrash because you are a beneficiary of the fraud called nPower. olodo
SirToby:
What happened today in National Assembly is totally wrong and also a shame on our democracy. It's not the "change" the ruling party promised us not to even talk about the collapsing economy. But the main reason why i opened this thread is to debunk the lies of Hon. Goodhead Boma and expose the Hypocrisy of experience Goodluck Jonathan.
Hon Goodhead Boma ealier today said such thing never happened when GEJ was the president.
But from what happened in 2014 we can see that the Honourable blatantly and shameless lied. NASS was brutally invaded when GEJ was the president. The complex was tear-gassed and the whole environment was filled with cannisters of tear-gas. were rough-handled and denied entry until they started climbing the gate to force themselves inside. The whole place was disorganized and people were running helter-skelter for safety. The shameful act happened in 2014 and I'm surprised how an Honorable would obviously lie publicly just to vindicate his party and GEJ, but trust we nigerians, we don't forget things easily.
Not along ago, GEJ in his usual displayed a high level of hypocrisy but releasing a controversial post on his facebook page in order to portray himself as Angel Gabriel and also give his not-right thinking followers reasons to praise him and see him as their matryed messiah.
But his hypocrisy has also been exposed. Thesame GEJ displayed his dictatorial arm by sending the armed forces to lay siege on the National Assembly, Tear-gassed the fourth citizen of the nation, blocked the opposition from entering the complex thereby allowing the ruling party inside in order to impeach Tambuwal that recently decamped to APC. Tambuwal could be seen holding his breath with handkerchief due to the unbearable smoke that saturated the atmosphere.
I think our leaders must stop their hypocrisy of playing on our intelligence as if if we've been configured to just forget things like a dummy. It is well. I rest my case here.
You have no reason to put up this silly post. APC promised to come make things better. why make comparion between a bad event with an even more terrible version.
Former Nollywood actress, Regina Askia Williams, and her beautiful daughter, Teesa, met the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, in the U.S. during an event recently.
Is it just me or does this oba look for the slightest opportunity to go to the USA and showcase his culture? lol. Love his rolling style though, he couldn't care less. Oba with swag. Kabiyesi o!
LilSfc:
There is this girl I met at my working place in the mid last year, we exchanged that day, and one thing led to the other and we started dating. We are really into each other and I can sense how much she care about me compared to other relationships I have been in the past.
But when my mum got to know about her, she said she's not in with our relationship and she has never said such in my past relationship.
Please I want to seek advice from nairalanders on how I can peacefully end the relationship without hurting her feelings.
And how can I justify myself so that she won't have a bad impression about me (and men in general) that I just use her and dump her.
You are supposed to be a man bro, apparently you are not yet. Relationships are for matured minds and in my opinion, you are still being breastfed. Let the girl go please, for a more serious dude.
Try dating again when you eventually grow some balls,
Some of y'all kids be shagging everywhere and calling it relationship. There is more to it than just getting naked on bed.
He tried but messed things up by abandoning strategic Fed roads.
Unlike Amechi.
Although he is patching some sections of Aba road
Yáll should always speak the truth and not be moved by sentiments. The man fixed the new airport road Amaechi abandoned, is that a state road? We understand these men get huge sums from allocation and IGR but for at least having the little heart to actually do something, it's worth mentioning. Amaechi started well but got bitter and abandoned his state.
Let your high earning cardiologist sister and family help you out nao...#boastfulsomebody
Oya use medicare(so your mind can rest) and block the road for others...na your way! Others derserve the opportunity to birth in the US just like you...#walksaway
Speedy recovery to your child...
@covbrand, @mamaOO, @seyewest and @Chuchunana. Y'all should pipe down o before I set Charles_okocha AKA igwe_2pac with his # NunuGang, LAPD and NYPD crew on your butts. Lol .
Cmon guys, we didn't come here to show off or become enemies, we are just hustling for better opportunities for our kids. Let's roll past this.
Am not sure you understood what I said, i haven't had my baby yet and I have not owed a dime for any child.
The sick child is my toddler who I had a while back, not a new baby and please next time if you cannot your message without throwing ive insults you can skip from answering. I did not predict that my son will be rushed into the ER.
Madam, so sorry to hear about your toddler's illness, hope he is feeling a lot better now.
I couldn't but notice your response to @justwise. Depending on your view of his comment, I don't think there was any ive insult in there. It's understandable if you felt his comment wasn't in line with what you wanted to hear. it's a public forum and everyone is entitled to their opinions.
Back to the matter, if for any reason whatsoever, you have earlier paid tax or contributed to the US system, then you just might use the Medicaid (taxpayers funds). As for me, I'd advise you to work out a repayment plan as this was an impromptu event.
Bintabisiriyu:
She should understand that it's not her fault, mugu must fall for guyman to chop, let her just take it as her contribution to humanity, God has used her to answer a broda's prayers
This is the mentality killing most people. Spending this kind of money is equivalent to stealing and not an answer to someone's prayers. No wonder the country is going to sh*t. we are so religious and quick to call God but yet, so mean and evil.
Well, by going ahead with a game that no one asked for, nor convincing the masses it's necessary gameplay-wise after a sizeable demo.
Now, it's worth parsing out that obviously
Naughty Dog have earned their credo, and by all means we have faith in writer Neil Druckmann and the team to continue the franchise in the best way possible. That said, have you noticed the bizarrely muted response this has been getting across the internet, and since first being confirmed?
Plot points like the potential for Ellie's mother to be a main character and Joel to have kicked the bucket are fine enough, but the game's " theme of hate " is falling back on a lot of gratuitous gore to convey a tone we'd already established through world-building and character motivation alone.
It almost feels attention-grabbing - the complete anathema of 2013's release being a confident, steadfast example of immaculate storytelling.
LoU 2 will actively struggle to justify its existence depending on how the relationship of Ellie and Joel gets treated, and you have to wonder: Will it be "enough" for this to essentially be another Uncharted 4? I.e. Something that's more than fine, but very much felt "tagged on"?
Dude, I totally disagree with you here. And where did you get the stats for the bolded above? Sir Josh, I dig your posts but for some of us LoU lovers and followers, mba!! I disagree with this your review. LoU 2 will sell.
