my port was received at the Lagos VFS office on Oct 30th, got the last message on Monday Nov 16 that is was still being processed and finally received an email from IRCC yesterday telling me I have a message waiting for me.

To the glory of God, when I checked, it was my LOI.

The decision not to do a covid test was mine though nobody asked for it at the airport. The only engers I noticed that needed the result to board were those headed for Dubai. The only other thing they inquired was the arrive canada app. the app, fill and submit your info 24- 48 hours before departure.

Your school will take care of that at your own expense. My school MUN mandate all students to be in the hall of residence with some charges. They would also be responsible for the airport pickup and straight to your ensuite room.

This makes sense. Many Chinese applicants received PPRs yesterday. You were lucky to have your application sent there. So far, it appears that the Nairobi office is yet to begin sending PPRs. Hopefully, they'd commence soon.

Hi, from my understanding when I ed CiC when my application was at that stage, I was told it’s to confirm if you meet the Exemption restriction. So the senior officer has to be the one to approve your exemption. Once that is done you will get a call to submit your port and when your port is returned an exemption letter will be added to your return envelope.
FYI, I never used my exemption letter, just telling them that I was reuniting with family was enough.

This sounds very interesting, at least with some ray of hope for other applicants awaiting successful approval.

Immigrant here.

Any prudent student that is not lazy and choose to work full-time during the summer can save more than 4K during the summer. In fact some “die” working during summer and save 10k for their tuition sef.

All these na small money during the glorious days of Oil and Gas industry in Alberta. Go and ask international students that did Safety watch during summer. They easily save more than 4K. Why? The job is usually longer hours, they fly you to the location, put you in a hotel and feed you when you on the field. I hope some people don’t start dreaming about it. Hahaha. It is real and some students still do it in summer.

4K is also small for prudent and single international student that are on full scholarship. For those not on scholarship, some schools give more than 5k after the first year of the International student have excellent grade. I know undergraduate international students that received about 10k every year from the University of Calgary till they graduated because they were maxing their GPA.

However, 9ja people can drain you out if you are not careful mehn. Most of them don’t care that you are student. Some won’t even know the school or city you are, but will ask you for money every time. This is where most international students spend their earnings because they have poor people that have turned them to ATM.

Don’t let us talk about international students that worked illegally because their hustle is against the legal system. The funny part is that some here, names withheld, did it to pay their tuition and living expenses. I think Some even say it here boldly after they graduated and immigrated. Read well and you may see. I don’t advise others to do it because it is too risky and can be detrimental to your future.

You don’t know what you don’t know. When you don’t know, ask the question “how” rather than argue that it is not possible. Hustle is hard in Canada. Hustle is real in Canada. However, Canadian hustle pays more than Nigerian hustle, and there are many legal was to hustle and save more than 4K during summer.

Let us know that no two applications are the same just as our faces differ. The commonest thing I observed here is many people often kill themselves in fear of nothing that exist. I belong to the Winners family and certainly, I believed my application will be different and I will return again to share my final testimony.

Personally, I thank God for the journey so far and appreciate every contributors on this forum. I have learned so much and am indeed grateful. I will return soon before the end of the month to inform the house of my successful Visa application.

Letter of approval to commence studies online (Approval-in-principle) August 6th.

Such as these testimonies are, so shall it be made perfect for every hopefuls too. Indeed I am a child of destiny.

I maintain: IRCC said they will continue to PROCESS AND REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS, while waiting for applicants to provide them. The only thing is that no final decision will be made or anyone refused on the bases of incomplete documents.

A visa officer can process and complete an application with or without Biometrics. You have submitted enough documents to show who you are!
Canada only introduced Biometrics barely 2 years ago in 2018.

Besides, are you aware that they have given a waiver to Essential Temporary Workers who are unable to give Biometrics in their countries to get it done at their port of entries? What does thay tell you? Visa applications can be processed without Biometrics if IRCC chooses to authorize it.

Everything I have written here is verifiable on the CIC website.

Your current position is "pre-covid", right now, things are not as rigid as you're trying to make it look. As for your friend, every application is different.
