just2endowed: just2endowed: The standard practice is for you to give the bank your rate but some banks prefers you to go with their rate. Some banks may even want to corner you to buy from them from the secondary market. It is important to always tell them it is your rate and it is for the primary market bidding. Stanbic IBTC allows you to choose your rate or go with their rate if you wish. |

alimat216: I don't understand this NPA people, why are they so disorganized? How many years will it take them to wrap up a simple recruitment of one unit of their organization? It is well. Whoever misses this offer will get a better one. This offer is not the end of the world. It is well again 1 Like |

Stay with the Abeokuta job, it looks like they have good staff welfare at heart. Pension and Insurance are mandatory for all companies to pay, so your Abeokuta company will comply. 13th month is an end of year bonus your Abeokuta job can pay too. 50k for a job in Lagos is really bad. Stay in Abeokuta, living cost is lesser there. Forget the Lagos job bro. Congrats 22 Likes |

I still have a feeling that we are in for another long wait because everything will now depend on the approval of the new MD. Perhaps something went wrong between the Minister of Transport and the sacked MD. Lord knows. God help us |

BREAKING Now that the MD has been changed, how will it affect us? It was publicised in today's NTA 9pm news. |

In a bid to inject a fresh pair of hands to run the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), the Minister of Transportation, Mr. Chibuike Amaechi, has submitted Ms. Hadiza Bala Usman’s name to President Muhammadu Buhari to take over as the new managing director of NPA, THISDAY has learnt. Should Buhari approve the recommendation, Ms. Bala Usman, 40, will become the first female chief executive of a top tier federal government agency and of the NPA. She shall take over from Alhaji Habib Abdullahi, who was reinstated by Buhari in August 2015 as the managing director of NPA, after he had been shown the exit by former President Goodluck Jonathan in April 2015. Sources in the presidency, who confirmed that Ms. Bala Usman’s name had been sent to the president, said Amaechi had decided to make the changes in order to overhaul the NPA. Amaechi, it was gathered, is not particularly impressed with the way the NPA was being run and has decided to effect a change of the executive team as soon as possible. A presidency source said that the minute Ms. Bala Usman’s name was submitted to the president, Buhari was happy to consider the recommendation, given the past relationship he had with her father, the late Prof. Yusufu Bala Usman, who was a renowned Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) academic, historian and activist before his death some years ago. Amaechi was also believed to have recommended Ms. Bala Usman, on the grounds that two chief executives of the foremost parastatals under his ministry – Nigerian Maritime istration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) and the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) – are from the south, and he would rather have an equitable distribution of appointments into the agencies under his ministry. Ms. Bala Usman, who is currently the chief of staff to the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Rufai, and a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was born in Zaria, Kaduna State, on January 2, 1976. She grew up close to the ABU campus where her father worked and obtained her Bachelor’s degree in 2000 from the same university and her Master’s degree from the University of Leeds in 2009. She worked for a non-governmental organisation, the Centre for Democratic Development and Research Training (CEDDERT) in Zaria, as a research assistant for a year starting in 1999. She also worked for the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) when el-Rufai was the director-general of the privatisation agency and moved with him to work as his Special Assistant on Project Implementation. In 2011, she worked as Director of Strategy for the Good Governance Group (3G). In 2015, she was appointed Chief of Staff to the Kaduna State governor. She shot to national prominence in 2014 when Boko Haram insurgents kidnapped 276 girls from their secondary school in Chibok, Borno State. Following in her father’s footsteps, Ms. Bala Usman, in conjunction with the former Minister of Education, Mrs. Oby Ezekwesili, co-founded the #BringBackOurGirls (BBOG), which brought global attention to the plight of the kidnapped schoolgirls. She is married to Dr. Tanimu Yakubu, former Chief Economic Adviser to the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, and they have two sons. |

1. Determine the amount of the savings you CAN NOT afford to lose no matter what happens. Invest that amount on Bonds and Treasury Bills. 2. Determine the amount of the savings you CAN afford to lose or risk. Invest that amount on the stock market, make sure you buy stocks with good value and your objective should be long term. 3. mayim: You should leave your house by 10am, I believe they will consider because of the sanitation. |

Paragon001: Ok good, you all should go there to find out. I will tell my bro to go too. All the best |

Paragon001: I think this is a very good suggestion. You all can go there from 10am because of sanitation, and find out. And how did the physical screening go? Because in Lagos, those that were successful in the physical screening were given tags which they will use to enter for the exams today. Did they do so in PHC too? |

Paragon001: My brother wrote in Portharcourt centre and is yet to get a text too. Is it that they were not able to attend to all the shortlisted applicants? Please PHC people should inform us when they get text, thanks |

ukay2: Yes STANBIC is cool, I use them. Their minimum is 100k and they allow you choose your rate. |

This delay is needless and not justifiable at all. For two years? EFCC in less than one month will wrap up their recruitment and I heard selected applicants will be going to training by next month. NPA should release us from this undue suspense. |

Oyind17: I swear it was a mistake o, was not intentional at all. And come to think of it, are they not supposed to make it impossible for the Visafone lines to migrate to MTN tariff? I already have airtel line. Thanks |

Greetings great NLers I had a Visafone line that was migrated to MTN last month after the latter bought the former. MTN informed me that all Visafone kmigrated lines will maintain the Visafone tariff plan for calls and data. I was also given 57GB as compensation bonus for the migration. Unfortunately, I migrated to MTN BetaTalk due to a broadcast sms I received from MTN. To my great surprise, this migration wiped out my remaining 55GB immediately. I have called and visited MTN centres to be migrated back to the Visafone plan I was, all to no avail. It seems to me that it is all planned out by them. Well, I am looking for a better network to port to between Glo and Etisalat. So I want to know which is better. Glo seems attractive for their newly cheap data bundles but someone complained to me about their network quality. I do not know much about Etisalat, so I need your help my people. I want to port the line on friday this week. Thank you |
