Yes those figures refer to the people who went with the bank's rate. I did not go with the bank rate. All in all, the news is still good.

samkay12:
I'm not sure i understand why this good news.
Doesn't their rate of 18.10 being lower than 18.2 mean "bad news" for you?
Or do those figures only refer to people who went with the Bank rates and you have ended up with 0.1% more
Right?

This is good news. I placed my bid through them but I went with 18.2 for 364 days

"God gave you a brain, so that you will give him a break" - Bishop David Oyedepo

The owner of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg is in Lagos a you are reading this. He is the 6th richest human on earth today. This is because he decided to use his brain to solve a problem in the world.

You need to do your own thinking to solve problems in your environment so that you can be successful. Mark is a young person like you.

Now, ask yourself this simple question, where do you see yourself 5 years from today?
If you can not answer it now, put on your thinking cap and create a 5-year plan for your life.

Your plan will make you see why some of the things you do today, friends you keep, places you go to, books you read are the reasons you are where you are today.

Create that 5-year dream today and work towards it, because everyone can be successful.

All the best.

Pls house, is there any bank that accept less than N1m to bid for TB? I have been to 3 banks I have with : Fidelity, Zenith & Access but the first 2 require minimum of N1m. However Access accepts less than that but only offers secondary market @ rate of 13% for 83 days tenor.
I needed to bid in the primary market for this next window.
If there is any other bank that accept less amount, can you tell me.
Thanks

Please go to Stanbic IBTC, they accept from 100k upwards and you are at liberty to bid by yourself

Engineer you do not have to be angry, it is one of those things. Not all banks will inform you of the outcome, that is why you are here to get info that your bank may not even be aware of. Now that you know your bid did not sail through, kindly prepare for the next bid.

EngineerT:
even if they don't allow, aint their rates competitive enough? secondly, when i last inquired, once they perceive you know what you're doing, they let you be. that I can't say about GTB. would you believe i Started this process on Monday and went there 2 other days consecutively to ensure everything went well , yet nothing came out. i hate to waste my time on futility, not after having diligently studied and did my homework before venturing into this activity. if there is any GT B staff here, come and defend your institution because i am not taking this likely at all.. its so annoying.

Best suggestion so far. Follow this idea and forget those people telling you to run away.
Meanwhile, Hausas are not too good in of 419, I can trust them better than other tribes including mine.

I have lived in their midst, I can tell you that they are trustworthy especially when they mention ALLAH!
munezo(m): 7:05am On Aug 19, 2016
It sounds very good since the hausa man gave you his official email to send your documents.

I will advise you to give it a try, since your friend has already given you 50k to pay the initial deposit.

Pay the man the 50k to book the slot but beg him to allow you to pay the 450k balance in instalments as soon as you resume and begin to receive salary.
You can beg him to allow you pay him 50k monthly until you complete the payment.

My officer in Stanbic IBTC has informed me that the bank's bid did not go through because it was above the stop rate. Meaning, all those who went with the bank rate will not be debited as their bids are unsuccessful.

But customers who placed their own rate that falls below the stop rate, went through.

You can open a savings with Stanbic for your TBills and Bond purchases. My with them is Savings.

vinnyvinny:
. Stanbic insist I must open a current rather than savings for NTB. Pls is that the case for those using Stanbic.

Going with their rate is a wise decision, it is the bank I use too, and I am going with their rate also.

Chidieberelex:
I was at Stanbicibtc bank today to submit my bid. I am new to ntb, after reading through the post I decided to go with the bank rate. I hope my decision won't back fire. The staff kind of pushed it down my neck to go with bank rate. I know my I still have the option of saying no to them! If I am to choose my rate I would say 364----18%, 182-------16.50%, 91-------14.59%

Please which of the banks allows one to choose his/her own rates.

Stanbic IBTC bank allows you to choose your rate, but I think it is wiser to go with their rate.

Good morning all. can someone invest more than once in the same bank with out the expiry of the first investment on TB.

Yes, you can invest more than once through the same bank

Omotolani513:

Thanks alot Munezo. You have really bin of great help. Will put the duration into consideration. So am thinking if I go for lets say 15% at 365 day in January, but in March there's an increase to lets say 19%. What happens then?

When you invest in January at 15%, the interest rate will be paid to you instantly while you will get your 100% principal in 365 days time. If the rate goes up to 19% in March, that does not affect you. You can also place another bid to key into the new 19% rate if you wish
munezo(m): 8:16pm On Jul 30, 2016
Omotolani513:

Thanks alot Munezo. I really do appreciate your response. Am considering the 91 day duration. Do u have an idea of what rate will make sense so I don't lose out eventually

Ok, well I personally do not like doing anything less than 364 days because the interest rates on 182 and 91 days are not attractive to me, you know they are calculated yearly.

The money I put in TBills are money I will very likely not touch for a long time so I wait for the maturity date when my principal will be paid back.

Keep your tabs on this thread to know the rates the gurus in the house will recommend for next bidding.
munezo(m): 4:45pm On Jul 30, 2016
Yes you can.

Hello guys, I posted a question yesterday & till now nobody has answered...pls guys, I wanna invest too... feelamong....pls help. am really expectant.
This is what I posted yesterday...

hi guys, Pls help.....
this is the rate I got from first Bank today... they said its from d last bidding...what do u think guys... am a novice...this is my first time...
91 days -14.14%
182 days - 15.48%
364 days - 16.48%
Pls who has an idea of Gtbank rating?

First bank has given you the bid rates for the last auction, what you need to do is decide the amount you want to invest, the duration and the rate. From feelamong's post, the rates are going up, so you may give First bank a rate higher than that of the last auction.

You should place your bid with them by monday.

I do appreciate you taking out time to clarify some thing.

I think their is a fowl play somewhere, I compared the stop rate you got in your inbox with that which @feelamong posted, it seems Eco bank stop rate is a lot lower. I don't wanna point fingers yet

There is no fowl play, ummitoagirl has made it clear that Eco Bank does not allow you to choose your rate but give you their own recommended rate. I have also said that Stanbic IBTC Bank allows you to choose your rate or go with theirs if you wish. With time we will be able to know how all the banks operate as we share our experiences with dealing with them here.
