abduleez1: Nice review, you mirrored my thoughts exactly. The ending is Nollywood for you. They'd literally spend lots of precious time building up the climax, only to resolve it in 2 minutes or less & haphazardly. |

alexistaiwo: ![]() Movies that are a total waste of MB IMHO -Top Gunner -Kill mode -Devil 's Night : Dawn of the Nain Rouge -Four kids & it -Selfie Dad -You should have left -Looks that kill -I am vengeance: Retaliation ( Every Vinnie Jones movie are unwatchable) -Dad's( A slow burn drama, probably going to bore one to death) -Maximilian/Assassin's Game( From the trailer, cinematography is an eyesore & acting horrible) -2 minutes of Fame(I'd gladly , seems to me like 97mins of pain) -Tainted( Very cliché, I'd gladly ) -The Eastern Front (No comment here, just avoid) -Legacy -Artemis Fowl( Seems like a very poor version of the Spy Kids) -The Point of No Return -Sniper: Assassin's End -The last Days of American Crime -Darkness Falls. -Hidden Orchard Mysteries (I am a fan of Mystery & Crime but I'd gladly on this) Movies i might give a try. -Magic Kids- Three unlikely heroes ( I kinda like the Harry Potter vibes) -Feel the Beat( seems like a good dance movie for the kids) -A Solder's Revenge -Wasp Network -Irresistible ( I would see this cause of Steve Carell) Movies I'd give a try -Force of Nature (plot seems cliché, though I'd give this one a try cause of Mel Gibson & Kate Bosworth). The Blackout ( From the trailer, it looks quite promising) Eurovision song contest: The Story of Fire Saga( I fancy musicals & i am a fan of the big man, Will Ferrell) |

Liposure: Stephen Chow's finest indeed. Do check out Kung Fu Hustle & God of Cookery, he also stared in both movies & like Shaolin Soccer, they were a visual spectacle to behold. |

Big Stan(2007).....6/10 Genre: Action, Comedy LMAO.....The fear of anal rape in prison, is the beginning of wisdom. Stan, a pathetic con man tries to toughen up, as he learns he's going to prison for fraud............................ Movie was divided into 2 parts, of which the second half was the funniest of em' all. Plot was basically simple, acting was really good, Rob Schneider's performance was very commendable & believable. This flick wasn't a masterpiece, as there were some plot holes here & there. Also, it had lots of what I'd describe as "gross humour" & "lewd remarks", but it all stops before it gets disgusting or offensive IMO. Though some viewers might still find them outrightly offensive or disgusting. Its not all that hilarious of a prison comedy like The Longest Yard, but i would say it was a good time and worth the watch. 1 Like |

RayMcBlue: It's a Michael Bay movie, & as such, all his movies asides the very first Transformers movie lacks the above. |

kendrick9: I also fancied the music score sung at the driving scenes. Ryan gosling is such a fine actor, i wonder why his career didn't blossom. |

Green Zone (2010)....7/10 Genre:Action, Drama, Thriller I'm really impressed by this flick, cause it's quite rare to see an action movie that doesn't glorify the almighty Uncle Sam as the good guy. Although fiction, It kinda follows the actual events of what transpired in Iraq & pokes into some very sensitive unasked questions as regards the war between America & Iraq. A tautly paced engrossing intelligent thriller, with no shortage of action. The cast were excellent, Matt Damon really aced his role. Direction was top-notch, so were the cinematography & soundtracks. Does America have the right, to impose a government(puppet) of their own choosing, on a democratic sovereign state?.... Alextaiwo & abduleez1, do check this one out. 2 Likes |

The Perfect Stom(2000)...7/10 Genre:Action, Adventure, Drama When mother nature rears its ugly head, the effects are often very devastating, she invariably strikes without any iota of mercy. Based on the true story of six brave fishermen who fought for survival with all their will, skill and doggedness against one of mother nature's nastiest hurricane on record. Remarkable acting from the fine cast, you basically feel empathy for everyone of the six. Script was strong, & the special effects were jaw-dropping. Like synchronized swimmers, the soundtracks were in pari-pasu with their corresponding scenes. An edge of the seat burner it was. Definitely worth the time. |

Fight Back to School (1991)...7/10 Genre:Action, Comedy, Romance Language: Chinese One thing i fancy about Stephen Chows' works is that, they're all laugh out loud materials with no shortage of slapstick humor nor ridiculous comedy scenes. Script was ok, so was acting & the rest of the lot. In the flick, Chow plays an undercover rookie cop sent to a school to find a cop's missing handgun. If you fancied Kung Fu Hustle" and "Shaolin Soccer do check this one out. |

Out of the Furnace (2013)...6/10 Genre: Action, Crime, Drama How far would you go for family? A bit of a slow burn, thought provoking flick. Though i found the plot a lil bit wanting. A fine assembly of cast(Hollywood's finest), they all did deliver, but Christian Bale stole the show as always. Cinematography, soundtracks & editing were all accomplished with utmost professionalism. Although the flick seriously lacked the action bit, as a Drama, it truly delivered. |

Office Space (1999)...7/10 Genre: Comedy Cleverly written comedy about the day to day hassles of office life. Those under paid employment would definitely dig this. From the horrific morning Lagos traffic, to every other shenanigan that goes on in the office/workplace, this flick captured it all. Acting was good all round & cinematography was quite ok. This is clearly not a kinda comedy flick for everybody. If you enjoyed Steve Carell's sitcom, The Office , then go ahead and see this. |

Vexatious: I never said anything about the hunchback dissuading Leonidas from going to war. By not listening to hunchback, I meant not giving him heed or listening to his plea to his army, alright. |

alexistaiwo: A bit of both. History bridges some of the gaps left by the cinematic perspective. |

alexistaiwo:. Yes he was no use to them in the phalanx formation but, they would have still kept him as a reserve, if probably with the Daxon's army(those ones that were everything but solders). Do you know the Spartans had about 4300 allies in that battle, why wasn't he relegated to those allies, or were the allies also using the famous phalanx formation. The hunchback could clearly fight (go read up on him). Leonidas knew exactly what he was up against and he knew that he was never coming back. He laid down his life for the unification of Greek forces. The most important part of my write up was holding the until reinforcements came in. So I never said Leonidas or any of the others were coming back. And by the way, the Persians were wagging a war of attrition at the , sending waves upon waves of soldiers. War of attrition yeah. But the 300 never seemed weakened by the constant and sustained attacks by the Persians. The had literally crushed everything throw at them, from monsters, magic, immortals, Cavalry, they lay waste to everything. Xerxes at a point became clueless. Yeah they would have eventually be overrun, but that would have been enough time for reinforcements to come in. Before the betrayal they were strongly defending the & martyring themselves to force Sparta's government into full military action. How long would they could have defended the if they weren't betrayed? possibly enough time before reinforcements arrive. As a matter of fact, the Spartans had about 700 who came from Thespiae, 400 from Thebes, & 300 Helots. In all, they had about 4300 allies in the battle of Thermopylae. To me, that's quite enough to stall until reinforcements arrived. |

joseph1832: They were extremely brave, but yet proud & overconfident(not listening to the hunchback), the later 2 was what led to their demise. The hunchback was clearly not a fighter but rather a strategist who knew the terrain. They underestimated the Persians, they never believe the Persians were formidable enough to amass & send about 6000 of their armies. If not for the fact that they were betrayed by the hunchback, they would have comfortable held the until reinforcement came in. |

@ oyaskii, i know you must have read about Jeffrey Dahmer. Just like you said, making moves & documentaries about serial killers is such a bad idea. I can't believe the producer of this particular movie tried to elicit a sort of sympathy form the viewers for Jeffrey Dahmer. After seeing his biopics & reading extensively about him, i haven't been myself all day. And i was so rankled by the fact that after refusing a defense attorney, he later had one who defended him. After the display of evidence(severed body parts, human skulls, human body organs), someone in his right frame of mind, someone with a conscience, came forth to defend him.... good Lord. |

The secret life: Jeffrey Dahmer(1993) Genre: Biography, Crime, Drama. A low budget flick poorly dramatizing the life & subsequent murder spree of Jeffrey Dahmer, Americans' most notorious canibalistic serial killer who was responsible for the killings of 17 young men between the period of 1978-1991. Production wise, the movie was simply horribly horrible. If you're looking for a gory or onscreen violence, then you'd be disappointed cause it had none. For a more graphic tale of Dahmer atrocious acts, I'd suggest you go read about it online, the tale is absolutely chilling & more graphic than one can actually stomach & imagine. |

Extracted (2012)...6.8/10 Genre: Drama, Sci-fi The concept of this flick had the Inception vibe written all over it, but yet, it seemed fairly original. For a low budget indie movie, i got hand it to it, I'm really impressed. Script was cleverly written to the get the viewers engrossed & guessing till the very end. Acting was good, the cast all played their parts well. Cinematography & editing was good, infact, the movie seemed so plausible i was blinded to it's faults. The director clearly aced this one perfectly. If you fancy slow burn suspense thrillers, do check it out. 2 Likes |

3:10 to Yuma(2007)... Rewatch Genre: Western, Action, Drama Irrespective of some little plot inconsistencies here & there, which I'd gladly over look, it was a damn fine movie with a very good script. Action sequence were great, photography was breathtaking, the sceneries were spectacular so to speak. Stellar performances from the cast, particularly from the 2 fine leads (Crowe & Bale). Bale continues to impress me in every role he features in. Fun fact, I've never seen Christian Bale perform badly in any role he plays, he's always on point & perfect. Masterful directing by the fine gentleman director, dude sure knows his onions/craft. Truly worth the Rewatch. 1 Like |

abduleez1, don't mind the jokes Alex & I were cracking jare. But las las & calling a spade a spade, that movie was terribly terrible, the director clearly had no sense of direction whatsoever. I saw it cause of the way you hyped the action & alas, the action wasn't that good. You can't compare the action in the movie to that in the likes of Black Hawk Down or Lone Survivor, the action in the aforementioned two, grabs you by the balls & never let's go until the very end. I'd even rank Wolf Warrior 2 a better Chinese war action movie than it. 1 Like 1 Share |

Unforgiven(1992).....9/10 Genre: Drama, Western. Now this is the holy grail of the Western Genre. Eastwood deserves a long & standing ovation for this. Unforgiven nabbed the Academy Awards for Best Picture, & is Eastwood's crowning Western achievement. Screenplay was very powerful, gripping & accurately captures life in American's wild west. Amazing character development, the actors performance from the main to the ing cast were truly impeccable & flawless. Eastwood's style of direction was absolutely mesmerizing & the editing was simply perfect. Cinematography was jaw-dropping. And at the end that implacable moral balance, good always silences evil. As a fan of the genre & Eastwood works, its truly unforgiven if you haven't seen this flick yet..... 1 Like |

alexistaiwo: LMAO..but Chinese military movies aren't all that terrible, Wolf Warrior 2 wasn't that bad, and i prefer it to that Operation Red Sea (it took me 3 days to actually complete Operation Red Sea). The director of that movie ought to be stripped nude & given the beating of his life. The flick basically had no story. It's a kinda movie you see just for the action & the action most times doesn't hold much water, you see yourself dozing off while seeing the movie. |

The Quick & the Dead(1995)...6.8/10 Genre: Action, Romance, Thriller A bang-bang Western set in a far far township called Redemption. Story wasn't that great, it's just there, it basically follows Raimi as she journeys & fights to finish off her vendetta. Acting was very good, Raimi actually did good, same as Crowe, Hackman, and Dicrapio. Top notch cinematography, perfectly merged with tension-filled soundtracks.Crisp directing from Sam Raimi. The flick packs lots of thrill centered duels, blood, gory, violence etc. Western gun porn at it's finest, truly An eye candy. |
