But he could direct his men to shoot at peaceful protesters without getting clearance from his commanding officer?

That our dear president is sick is not news and no fault of his. What's news is that history is repeating itself so soon.

Just like Yar'adua, this president remains one of Nigeria"s finest men with a high level of integrity. Our problem is the cabal that's keeping him in the office against his wish. embarassed embarassed embarassed

Zulum is a bigot and ambitious opportunist. He does most of these things for the camera with 2023 in mind.

People here are saying that our security architecture has failed and all this self assuming action governor does next is to compare people going on exile to people being beheaded. So what was his recent call for mercenaries all about?

This same hypocrite blames the army for their failure and at the same talks about rebuilding burnt down towns and resettling people in the middle of a war.

The showy politician s a disgrace to all professors in University of Maiduguri

All these is what demotivate the younger officers.

The man said the truth and now you want to crucify him. I am sure if he was one of Buratai's boys they would have swept it under the carpet or just redeployed him somewhere.

E go hard for Nigeria to work.

Farmers are being slaughtered like chicken and here you are chasing shadows with officers who should be leading in front.

The mumu Garba Shehu said Farmers didn't have clearance to go to farm, clearance for what? I thought Bokoharam has been defeated.

Who do they go to to get clearance. If they apply for clearance, do army officers accompany them to farm?

Buhari has failed his ers. GEJ was regarded as clueless but we lack words to quantify Buhari's Buffoonery.

Bokoharam will strike and people will be shouting its service chiefs.

When an organisation is not working you start from the head. Buhari is a toothless general.

My only joy is that Buhari did 8 years. if not 20 years from now some idiots will tell us that the only man who could fix Nigeria is Buhari and we never allowed him rule. shey una dey see am

The real Buhari is better than GEJ grin

They started with end sars. The President obliged and ended sars then they brought 5 demands.

Then they came with 5 demands. The President agreed to the 5 demands and even started implementing some.

Then they said end sars was only a metaphor and that they were protesting against bad governance, and then some of them said what they wanted actually was end buhari.

They continued in the streets, sometimes blocking roads and preventing those who were not interested in ing the protests, from having access to the roads.

The Nigerian media called all of these a "peaceful protest"

The entire Nigeria media/celebrities/ popular figures didn't have the guts to call the protest for what it was, out of desperation to be seen to "be on the side of the poeple",

Mostly for business gains.

In conclusion there were 3 major groups of people in the crowds during the end sars protests;

1. Those who actually sought a genuine end to sars and police brutality.

2. Those who were sponsored by opposition politicians and anti-Buhari elements to destabilize the country even if for a few weeks.

3. Thugs hired by Government personalities to create anarchy within the crowds thereby giving Government the impetus to disperse the protesters.

So the IG saw nothing wrong with govt choosing to deploy thugs over policemen to disperse peaceful protesters.

His men actually looked the other way while these thugs & hoodlums reigned. Instead, they killed protesters in Ogbomosho and Surulere. The Nigerian army also launched an exercise against peaceful protesters when their priority should have been the thugs and hoodlums, as well as bandits and Boko Haram terrorists elsewhere.

Sadly, the situation degenerated into a mob action and the police itself became a victim. At the end, policemen were killed, criminals escaped from custody while arms got into bad hands. These situations are enough for the IG to resign. Likewise, a president should quit when it gets bad to the extent that his speeches have to be pre-recorded and his service chiefs are no longer able to him, among other flaws.

For many average Nigerians, brand new cars aren't direct substitutes for 'tokunbo' vehicles. As such, clarifications need to be made on:

1) Whether the reduction applies to only tractors and tokunbo vehicles?

2) Will government being a big buyer of new vehicles, patronise made-in-Nigeria vehicles for its officials, t ventures, the police, army etc.?

Except the Rep. of Niger is paying us for transportation and storage, wouldn't it have been more value for money to simply buy their excess crude for cheap and set up one or two 5000 bpd modular refineries in Northern Nigeria?

Protests have been peaceful for 12 days or so until it was invaded by government-sponsored thugs/hoodlums & the army. Why is the govt not even talking about those riffraffs till date? Imagine a national institution like the army telling senseless and shameless lies.

Some hoodlums caught by peaceful protesters confessed and even mentioned amounts they were paid by their sponsors.

It appears all the committees and otherwise supposed to be upright people like Lawyer Olu Onagoruwa have been settled.

Am I the only who gets infuriated with this Travel ban of a thing?

Like, shouldn’t there be another punishment aside this travel ban? America is not Heaven! It’s time we liberate ourselves from this inferiority complex.

Won't you be happy if Sanwoolu, the IGP, Buratai, the Cabal and others can't travel to the US and the UK for medical tourism, nor own properties there and have there families school abroad while they pay lip service to healthcare, education and the average Nigerian's sanctity of life?

Those politicians shouldn't have any place to go outside Nigeria. They need to be forced to think and build (for the benefit of all), the same facilities they enjoy out there.

How did the army know. Did they visit all the looted business to determine that or someone sat in his office to determine that

My thoughts too!.

By the way, where was the army, few days into the protest, when thugs including bitter NURTW workers started attacking peaceful protesters around Alausa in Lagos; and when nothing happened, others took the opportunity to start looting & burning BRT buses etc.?

Is it the work of the army to report stories. Are they NTA or Arise TV?

Even the dumb committee keeps missing the point. Was the protest not hijacked due to direct failures on the part of Sanwoolu, the IGP & the COAS.

sometimes am begining to wonder if what Mazi Nnamdi Kanu said long time ago is actually true. About buhari being dead and an imposter covering for him.
Coz i cant fathom how these crisis will be going On in a country and the number one citizen kept quiet. Forget about the pre-recorded videos and others aids speaking On his behalf.

May be the new guy is now dead. Otherwise, why his absence? As if that's not irresponsible enough, an aide thought it priority to post his picture with an Emir in the heat of the moment. Next minute, Buratai's army visits mayhem on Lagos and Tinubu goes on exile while the governor starts blaming unknown forces.

We've also seen the police protect thugs that invaded Alausa just as guys looking like DSS rode with thugs. Something smells fishy and one expects Sanwoolu to know better to cry out

Just talk what you know. AIG is an Indian runned company with a very high production output.

So Indian-run companies don't launder money?

With their so called high production output, don't they pay Nigerian graduates N80/100k per month and employ more Indians than necessary to run basic induction and arc furnaces?

And why are these ministers not saying anything definite about Ajaokuta Steel?

In an era where China has been over-producing steel, a $1.5b investment in steel production in Nigeria with the unfavourable busines climate, lack of power coupled with insecurity is suspicious. The figure appears to be highly over inflated and points to money laundering

GoodGovernance:

Great.

End SARS was a very senseless agitation.

You ban a unit of police dedicated to curbing armed robbery, just because of some bad elements in the unit.

The same elements are to be redeployed within the same police .

So is reforming SARS,including the staff not a more sensible agitation?

The successes of SARS outweigh its failures.

If SARS is dedicated to curbing armed robbery, a valid question would be, 'what are the other regular armed policemen in the majority dedicated to?' For a country like ours, shouldn't the major priority of policing be investigation & prevention of robbery, kidnapping and homicide including apprehending and prompt transfer of suspects to the next level in the criminal justice system?

What Nigerians needs next are #endMopolforVIPs
#abolishPoliceBarracks
#abolishSecurityVotes

Along with these, we need a new 360,000-man police force where the minimum entry level is an OND lower credit, where minimum salary is 200k per month, where officers have access to drones, walkie talkies, tactical vests, good uniforms with body-worn cameras, as well as Innoson smiley patrol or operational vehicles with GPS systems etc.

We also need an elite unit of the police where the entry requirement is a minimum of HND upper credit or a 2-1 Bachelor's degree

What do you know?

You don't just launch an attack without giving the attacker group a name to identify people who were deployed for the mission.

Even US n every other countries gives their operations identity.

Its the norm.

The issue is the rational behind revealing the operation to the enemy!!

At best, this es for stupid mind game and at worst, it amounts to the same cowardly strategy of always 'repelling' terrorists instead of going after them like Chad did.

Meanwhile, there's a YouTube video in which our leading army officer was asking (on radio) for permission, obviously from his commanding officer, whether to attack boko haram terrorists whom they got within range.

It only makes sense that a governor's 1st term verifiable achievements leave no one as a doubting Thomas. In this respect , Aketi falls short of standards set elsewhere by the likes of Fasola or even Amaechi & Akpabio. Finding himself in a failing ruling party and being short of defining legacy projects, he should lose to the PDP man

Hypocrisy and governance in these northern sharia states is like 5 & 6.

A governor can steal his state and country dry. His children can drive Ferraris without no means of livelihood but the oppressed people still hail them when they engage in cheap showmanship over failed institutions created by their very selves

Zulum wants IDPs back to their communities in the middle of rising insurgency but flies in a chopper while people on his convoy are slaughtered. Why allow them take unnecessary risk after the recent narrow escape on that same route? And why is Zulum desperate to take to the cameras for rebuilding bombed houses in the middle of a war? These scripts look suspicious. At the end of the day, won't resettled IDPs end up being killed by Boko Haram?

Why would a governor carry cash around to start with? These politicians too get ego and think governance ends at being hailed by their impoverished subjects.
