Hmmmm. Are the hausas so poor that they can't feed them selves? Just asking

In the first place, won't it be a contradiction to be feeding people supposedly denying themselves of food and possibly sharing their conserved stock of food with the less priviledged?

Foremist, kindly lets us all it that no one is perfect and find a place in their hearts to forgive GEJ?. Afterall, contrary to predictions of doom from disappointed haters; he showed unprecedented love in keeping Nigeria as an entity especially compared to previous deceitful, sit-tight and our do-or-die leaders. Once denied leadership by a coup and 3 times at the polls, this is not necessarily a victory for GMB but for June 12, Awolowo (president we never had), Bola Ige, our other numerous fallen heroes and all Nigerians. GEJ deserves our standing ovation!..............
How about allowing him a bow in ittance into the New Nigeria's Hall of Fame - the reigning founder of our democracy?. Now is time for us to stop all the hatred, unite behind the president-elect and focus on all the catching up we've got to do, while shaming our detractors, colonialists, boko haram and remaining unprogressive / business-as-usual cabals and politicians. Great Nairalanders, please let the real discourse begin

Doing a 145km/hr on a nigerian road. Kudos!

Hello friend, people go above 190km/hr on Benin by going towards Warri interchange . You can also do well above 170km/hr on Benin Warri Highway. My own least cruising speed on these roads over a period of 5 years that I worked in Warri and shuttled from IB was 160km/hr. Sure you won't believe that I once got dusted at 200km/hr by a biker on Akure-Ilesha Highway? Mind you, this was on the single carriageway portion about 2 years ago. I regularly chased the particular group of bikers in question. On Ilesha dual carriageway up till Oduduwa University roundabout near Ife, you can enjoy your car steady at slightly above 200km/hr. FYI I did all of this in a Maxima that I bought here on Nairaland in Feb 2010 from "Arnold.... .? " I changed oil/tyres etc at less than 1/2 the due periods though. In conclusion, as someone said earlier, Nigerian roads are not as bad as to limit us to a meager 145kmph

I swear Mikel is only good when we're gonna defend a lead.

I see Chelsea losing should Mourinho keep Mikel for longer than 10 minutes of the 2nd half. What happened to the lineup that started the last match. Is William injured? What of Oscar?

Agreed we tried but I want a situation where 1Naira - 2 dollars
2Naira - 1 British pounds
3Naira - 1.5 Euro

If this happens tomorrow, your salary of N150,000 will have to be reduced to under N1000 per month. It's as simple as that.

period!

It still does not mean the Naira is the greatest currency.

For a currency to be considered great...it must be strong enough to be used by other countries as a reserve currency....and that is where the dollar, the euro, and even the yuan stand out.(And the yen too!).

And all the countries of origin of these currencies have one thing in common.....THEY ARE ALL INDUSTRIAL ECONOMIES....not resource dependent economies like Nigeria.

If Nigeria's Naira must be a world standard, reserve currency.....we must become an industrial economy...exporting industrial goods across the world.

Oil is a curse.

Most people don't understand that exchange rates don't really indicate which currency is stronger than the other. Haven't we heard of re-denomination before? Ghana did it before and immediately, their currency became almost as strong as the US Dollar and stronger than the Naira

Obinoscopy: That pix isn't that of the BH commander. The pix is the pix of some mercenaries caught by the Nigerian Military. The OP just lifted it from SaharaReporters.

Saw this picture several months ago too

I only hope there is a conspiracy theory or diversion to what the SS said.

We ve heard cases of the Police and bank workers conniving with robbers, customs aiding smuggling, JTF making fortunes in billions from bunkering.

Ideally, all people potentially having something to benefit either indirectly or directly (including foreign arms markets) need be on Marilyn's watchlist in the fight against Boko? It was unprofessional coming on air just to tell Nigerians whom the enemies are NOT and to leak information on persons being investigated.

Not only SAS, but many nothern governors reportedly patronized Boko Haram in the past. GEJ at a point also offered them amnesty. Now we are buying arms and the military needs additional 1 billion dollars?

SS should unveil the people currently benefitting from insurgency, sponsoring & feeding BH and leaking intel to them.

....my opinion

Maku reportedly said and I quote:
“Nigeria is prepared right now to curtail any outbreak particularly given reports that few counties on the West Coast like Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea have reported cases of Ebola fever and given our proximity to these countries Nigeria is ready.
“The ministry has every precaution including getting with vaccines and medicines to ensure that should there be any incidence in Nigeria, everything would be dealt with precision”, he said.

Sawyer comes to Nigeria:
Decontee Sawyer, the widow of Patrick Sawyer – the Liberian who brought Ebola to Nigeria on July 20th this year – explained that her husband came to Nigeria with his Ebola infection because he believed he will get better healthcare and a cure for his ailment in Nigeria. - http://www.nigerianbulletin.com/threads/the-sin-of-lying-how-labaran-maku-brought-ebola-to-nigeria-dr-brimah.88434/

A nurse, who had previously had with the Liberian Ebola patient Patrick Sawyer, fled quarantine in Lagos, and returned to her home in Enugu. - http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/08/ebola-nurse-flees-lagos-enugu/

My question is, under the watch of the Health Minister, Maku makes a reckless statement. Gets all of us into trouble. In the midst of this, a health professional (precisely a nurse, same people competing for relevance and running our hospitals today, while doctors remain sacked) flees quarantine spreading the virus.

If you were to be the President and Commander in Chief, what would you do to curb recklessness and inaction on the part of govenment officials?

No. 2: What implication does this have on healthcare delivery in Nigeria while we remain in the hands of healthcare professionals who are out of tune with basic practices and ethics of their profession?

No. 3: How do we and who manages quarantine in our hospitals and should the hospital involved in this particular case be sanctioned?

Many thanks in anticipation of your positive contributions.
