Wizkid and Sola Ogudu’s son, Boluwatife turns 5 today, May 13, 2016 and the proud dad kicked off the celebrations last night.
He took to Twitter yesterday, May 12, 2016 to tell his fans how much his son changed him.

"My son is 5 tomorrow, wow!” he wrote, adding, “I love you so much, Boluwatife. You made me stronger. Thank you! Love you forever!!Can’t imagine my life without you.”

This declaration is heartwarming especially because the singer initially refused to accept responsibility of the son, denying his existence, until 2013, two years after Ms Ogudu gave birth to the boy. Wizkid has since openly shown love for the first son and to seal his dedication, he got a ‘Boluwatife’ ink job on his arm.

However, fans were quick to that the Star Boy ceo has refused to address the claims by Guinean-American vixen Binta Diamond, who shook Nigerian social media this January by revealing her alleged son with the singer this January.

Wizkid skated conversations regarding Diamond, and the proud mum was forced to return to her base in the United States when he wouldn’t accept responsibility for her son.

Well, fans hope that the singer will eventually make a turnaround, as he later did with Boluwatife.

EFCC is seeking to unravel how Diezani, through Fidelity Bank Plc, disbursed N5billion to representatives of seven states in the North-west of the country.

N1.3bn was reportedly received by two beneficiaries from Kano State, out of which N950m was received by Ambassador Aminu Bashir Wali.

N406.2m was received on behalf of the late Kano State INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Alhaji Mukaila Abdullahi, by one Sani Isa who is a retiree of the INEC in the state.

The EFCC source said they all, according to investigations, collected money from Fidelity Bank after due certification of various means of identification as requested by the bank.

It said Dr Nurudeen Muhammad received N500m out of the N750m disbursed to Jigawa State.

The Kaduna State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), on Tuesday attributed the accident that claimed the lives of six Ekiti State medical doctors to speeding.

In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kaduna, Salisu Galadunci, the Sector Head of Operations, Deputy Corps Commander of the Kaduna State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), on Tuesday, attributed the accident that claimed the lives of six Ekiti State medical doctors to speeding.

Speaking on the fatal car accident which occurred on Sunday at Doka, along Abuja–Kaduna road, Galadunci said, "Twelve medical doctors and a driver were in an 18-seater bus travelling to Sokoto for Nigeria Medical Association (NMA)’s annual conference and had a tyre burst due to over speeding.

"The vehicle overturned with the occupants and six of the doctors died along with the driver while six others survived with various degrees of injuries. Bodies of the victim were evacuated to St. Gerard Hospital for depositing and medical attention," he said, adding that speeding was responsible for a larger percentage of accidents on Nigerian roads.

Meanwhile, one of the survivors, the Ekiti state NMA’s branch Chairman, John Akinbote, has blamed the death of the doctors on lack of immediate medical attention.

While speaking with journalists on his hospital bed on Monday at St.Gerard Hospital, where other surviving doctors are currently receiving treatment, he said: "Those that died would have survived if we got good medical attention from the point of the accident to the Doka General Hospital in Kaduna.

"It became even worst, when we got to Doka Hospital and there was no single doctor to attend to us and the only nurse on duty had no first aid facilities to ister treatment. I am sure, if FRSC personnel that took us to Doka Hospital and the nurse on duty had medical facilities to give first aid treatment, our doctors and driver wouldn’t have died."

Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu, said on Wednesday that the lingering fuel scarcity bedeviling Nigeria will end next week.

According to Kachikwu, every part of the country will be supplied with fuel in seven days time.

While briefing State House correspondents at the end of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday, Kachikwu said: “As at today we are delivering about 1,200 trucks, by weekend we should be delivering same number of trucks. It will take a bit of days to even out but you can see improvement already.”

“I hope by the end of next week with the refineries helping us to stay on course, every part of the country will get fuels.”

“Some people rather than sell products send them into inter lands where they can sell at ridiculous prices. Therefore you are having these price distortions where people are making a lot of money.”

“Some are internal and some are external, but the truth is that the marketers trying to make quick returns on their investments wrongly.”

“If I have a child, everyone would know. It is laughable and there is no iota of truth in that post”.

Starboy Entertainment singer, Wizkid, over the weeked put popular blogger, Linda Ikeji, on blast following the latter’s exclusive concerning him being served a quit notice.

Linda Ikeji’s Blog reported that Wizkid has been shown out of an apartment located at Ayinde Akinmade Street, Lekki Phase 1, after his rent expired and his Porsche was on hired purchase.

Wizkid furiously reacted to the report and shamed the blogger in the process making reference to Ikeji’s relationship with his director, who allegedly dumped her after having an affair.

Now, controversial filmmaker and critic in a lengthy post has addressed their beef.

He wrote,

“Since yesterday when Linda gleefully posted on her blog that Wizkid got an eviction notice from his Lekki house, there’s been no chill from both sides.

Wizkid reacted with expected anger, calling Linda an ‘Ugly, Old Bitch nearing 40 years and married to her laptop’ . Ouch. He suggested that his Director friend slept with Linda in a hotel!

Having the Right of Reply, Linda fell for the bait and posted a reply calling to question Wizkid’s age and a story that Wizkid’s Porsche cars are on hire purchase.

As expected, Wizkid replied and went on a tirade of how her Pussy needs some cleaning and some other invectives. He listed the cars he has bought, including a G65 as well as four other cars and a house he just built for his mother. He warned Linda that anywhere he sees he, his 16 year old cousin will beat her up.

And the war continues. I have been following the updates with chuckles and much shaking of my head, even though it’s salacious and entertaining.

First, I think Linda should be advised. It’s evident to the discerning that she has a vengeful obsession with getting back at Wizkid and this has been evident since last year when Wizkid took potshots at her age and marital status, which prompted Linda to respond that she’s rich enough to buy any man she wants. ( I actually don’t think any was hacked as explained then)

Putting up the post yesterday of the eviction notice given to Wizkid was perhaps an intuitive gossip obligation she felt she had to share, after all she’s a known gossip blogger. But it was tactlessly done and exposed an underlying beef which was waiting for an opportunity to get back.

Wizkid’s reaction was true-to-type. He’s a street kid. A Surulere or Ojuelegba product and he’s not expected to have any chill. Unlike Linda, who’s also from a poor background and has some understanding of the rules of the streets of Surulere, Wizkid is a supposed nouveau rich kid whose fame and fortune are grounded in the music of his streets. This means that while some measure of success demands some form of etiquette from Linda, now living among the elites, same us not expected ( even if demanded) from Wizkid.

The difference here is bohemie.

Wizkid is the epitome of the new age of reckless abandon of restraints and respect by his generation. He belongs to an era where he has power. His music is an influencer of moods. He’s danced to and listened to all across dance floors in Africa and beyond. He sways the minds of the twenty – somethings and teenagers. He can’t do wrong in their eyes.

On the other hand, while Linda is also a powerful media figure with much of her readers also amongst the young crowd, she has moved on to an aspirational lifestyle by the flaunting of possessions on her media space. While there might be nothing wrong with that, it’s also a strong reason for her youthful crowd to either be more enamoured with her, with the monthly handouts she commendably doles or they would inordinately harbour some disdain for her over this indiscretion.

The truth of the matter is this; don’t Bleep with a musician in a war of words in this new age. Dele Momodu found out the hard way too late when Davido took him to the cleaners and even alluded to his ‘busy body’ tendencies in a song.

You see, with the massive following Wizkid has, all he needs to do is to go to the studio and record a new single calling out Linda Ikeji. It’s that simple. He could just put some lyrics on an ikworkrikwo beat and singing:

‘ Linda o, Linda. Old mama wey nor get Ginger…’

Or something in the vein of his insults to her as we have been reading.

Of course, shifting and shuffling feet don’t have any respect to a good rhythm. People will dance and that song would be stored in the annals of history. All Linda can do would be to keep writing ripostes which would not have any direct impact.

And really, if Wizkid loses steam and becomes a ‘has been’ tomorrow, that’s neither here nor there for him or his fans. He would be part of a vignette of Nigerian music history. He’s already attained some measure of legendary status among his fans in the young age. I will shock you. In the North of Nigeria, especially in Kano of all places, Wizkid is like a god. His music is loved by the Northern youths and Kano alone can shut down if the talakawas ever hear that Wizkid is performing there. I was shocked to find this out recently.
Such is the power of music in the present age.
But I would also advocate that Wizkid and Linda bury the hatchet. This beef is unnecessary, even if it’s entertaining some people.

Let’s all just get along, please.”

The Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU), Kogi State University (KSU), Anyigba, Kogi State, has issued a 21-day ultimatum to the state government to pay the five months backlog of salaries owe its after which they would enforce the principle of "No pay, no work."

The union noted that while it was against corruption in any form, paying its outstanding salaries would enable them continue the war against corruption without any hindrance.

The Chairman of ASUU, KSU, Anyigba, Dr Daniel Aina, lamented that ASUU could no longer feed, transport themselves to work and pay their children's school fees among others.

According to him, the state government had, in the last five months, failed to pay the lecturers their salary, saying the academic staff of the institution had been living in a precarious economic situation where they can no longer meet their basic needs.

Aina maintained that the best that could be done to forestall negative attitudes from was for the state government to pay their salaries as at when due to guarantee free corrupt institution.

He said: "No forms of corruption in extorting money from students could be allowed under any guise in KSU, but we know that a hungry man is more prone to corruptive tendencies. Therefore it is no longer acceptable that our continue to work with five months backlog of unpaid salaries.

"The union has given the state government 21 days to pay all the outstanding salaries and to ensure that henceforth no salary is delayed more than seven days from the end of the preceding month, failure will result in "no pay, no work."
He added that since September 2015, the union resolved to invoke the principle of No pay no work, saying the exco of the union decided that the session should be allowed to end without rancour.
