Hey guys,

My work experience work cannot provide tax documents and payslips, worked there in (2019-2020) during Covid period. We know as Nigeria be
And now everywhere I’m seeing is ircc is asking for tax documents and payslips for foreign experience.

Has anyone who has recently applied for PR gotten ADR or PFL for not including these in pr application? I’m beyond stressed. Looks like I might have to go back to Nigeria in January to work for one year again😭

This life ehn

The thing about many lawyers, agents, even IRCC recognized representatives is that they have no skin in the game and they benefit from scenarios where you are desperate and rely on them heavily for advice!

I'm struggling to understand his rationale and would strongly advise you get a second legal opinion if you feel you need legal advice.

Most people here suggested to come clean and send a webform to explain the missing WE from past applications...someone even said he made the same error but scaled through.

How does the lawyer propose you address the issue in a subsequent PR application?

Regarding the options, you know that if you marry your baby mama or even claim to be common law, you'll still apply for PR and have to provide your 10 year personal history. Ask a cross section of the refugee gang how things are going for them. Every filing and appeal costs money, can last many years and weighs on your mental health. Even if you reapply using 1 yr NYSC, what will you do about the missing WE which was why you withdrew your previous application? You would either leave it out again and be silent or include it and explain the previous ommission, which is what a webform would have done.

Also....check your CRS again. You have 2 degrees....with Canadian education and Canadian work experience of 2 or 3 years - even without the NYSC which people have shared works, you should have a very healthy CRS. Unless none of your WE (foreign and Canadian) was 1 yr continuous. Have you read through the NYSC cases on NL? Why are you skeptical that it will not fly nowadays?

Anyway....please forgive my rant.......I just think these guys sometimes suggest options they wouldn't take if it were their personal application.

Hey thanks for the reply, I totally understand where you’re coming from. I did get another (white) lawyers opinion and he told me to withdraw as well. Although an RCIC agent told me to send webform but this wasn’t paid advice.

Regarding what I will do in subsequent pr applications. I will not claim the experience to give me points for the job I didn’t mention in my study permit but I will mention it in my personal history. And I will come clean in LOE that after getting advice from lawyers I didn’t want to risk a ban while a child is coming so in good faith I had to withdraw. My application didn’t even get to BIL stage so no officer looked at it yet. Hope the officers see where I’m coming from.

For NYSC I’m skeptical because the lawyer told me it won’t work but I’m realizing now she’s just in it for the money. So I’ll try my luck with NYSC. Last last if I don’t get it I’ll come back home and work for a year and try again. Marrying that woman isint an option lol.

Thanks for your worry I really appreciate it. Should have used NL

OMG! ITA wasted just like that? You could have taken your chances and prepare a solid explanation just in case of an eventual ADR.

In all, I wish you good luck.

That’s what everyone said, but I had to be safe. Didn’t want to risk potential ban, with a child coming

What was the outcome of this PR application?

Lawyer told me to withdraw and apply again since my application has not yet been seen by any visa officer, and try to apply again with the options I layed above

I think the 1 year NYSC experience is your best of the listed options. I know people that used NYSC without issues as it’s paid legitimate work and qualifies for what ircc requires IMO. what exactly did u do during NYSC?
One person I know last year explained(LOE) that she was paid by a ministry in the government when they requested for payslips, she’s in Canada now.
Can you get reference letter from ur exPPA without their mention of NYSC? Simply stating your roles in ircc format and gross salary of 33k X12months.
Then add the 7 months experience in tech too.
526 is an enviable score….no slack baba.
Your lawyer Layi probably dey dis same nairaland dey gather intel😀😀.
Who no go no know!

During my NYSC it was kind of a data analyst role, I just helped them keep the numbering system of corpers valid. It was in a local government secretariat. So it was government work. The exact same scenario as the person you mentioned. I can get them to help with the format, but the payment part I’m not too sure. Omo this lawyer wan charge me $10k for marriage or refugee claim application o. I shout enter Nairaland😂. I have done all my past visas my self, I’ve never used an agent. But this time na potentially the last time I’ll ever need to do visa application again and na the main one so I need to do it right. I’m scared.

Thanks for the motivating reply boss, may god show all of us the way

Hey guys,

I’m in a very tricky situation and I need some advice from people here from different walks of life before I make my decision.

I’m currently in Canada 26 years of age, and in a serious dilemma.

I’m currently trying to get PR and it seems I have a couple of options with its own uncertainty pros and cons, and I need advice from you guys after getting advice from a lawyer.

My base CRS points is 476

And I have a few things I can do to circumvent this low score:

1. Foreign Work Experience:
I have 7 months of valid work experience in Tech in Nigeria, but that’s the problem… it’s just 7 months and I need a full year. But I also did NYSC and have access to a person at my PPA that can give me reference letter, and have all documents I need to my NYSC experience. But I wasn’t paid for the NYSC except the government pay of 33k. My lawyer said NYSC can’t be used to claim foreign experience but I’ve heard stories of people using theirs. So I wanted to ask if anyone here has successfully used NYSC **Recently** to get PR. This would bring my points to a respectable 526.

2. Marriage
This I really don’t want to do, but I have a child coming (Canadian citizen) with a woman here. The pregnancy was a mistake but she wants a child so she kept it and I also agreed to help out. I don’t like her enough to marry her, but seeing my circumstances I might be forced to. She really likes me and I think I can convince her to a marriage, but this is not something I would like to do ATALL. Lawyer said it’s my best chance since we already have a kid together, it’s almost a slam shut case I would get it with this route. But the girl is very bipolar, she can switch up at any moment and lawyer warned me that her switching up could also hurt my chances as much as it can help my chances.

3. Refugee
This is the worst option, as I went to undergrad school in the UK, did nysc, worked in Nigeria and moved to Canada. It will be very hard to argue that I had issues, but mehn I need anything at this point.

4. Go back home & get the remaining 5 months experience
We all know how Nigeria is, this is a death choice, I’m basically giving up with this option. But I have 7 months of foreign experience right now, I can go back to Nigeria and find work for the remaining 5 months (gods willing) and then apply with my points at 536, and I will have to wait for ITA in Nigeria. This is most likely the safest option but the most mentally devastating one.

Please folks I NEED your advice as I only have 8-9 months left in Canada, time is running out and I need something to use an option and stick to it, but I’m not sure which route to go.

Thank you!

But you didn’t declare it, did you?

Bro i was 21 and did a study permit, the info was not necessary. I was told only put required info. Which at the time was nysc and i put that there. What will be will be abeg. Make ircc no give pesin mental health problems lol

Lot of PR applicants have caught for Job / NOC misrepresentation especially when they have previously applied to IRCC before their PR applications, just pray your own case turns out good. Better still, you can hire an immigration lawyer and just for you to know their service doesn’t come cheap!

The jobs/noc codes have all been the same. Including my canadian experience

Guys im in a serious pickle and scared at the moment.

So when i was 20 i applied for study permit. At the time i was doing nysc and working in tech (entry level) but in my SOP. I inly said that i was doing NYSC. I didnt mention that i worked as i didnt want them to know i was doing nysc and working because i was supposed to be working in my PPA but was running it as i needed tech experience.

In my work permit i also didnt declare this work experience as i had work lined up in canada so i just used that and didnt bother using anything else as i thought it didnt matter.

Now in my pr application i declared the experience i did in nigeria. I added reference letter, offer letter and a picture of me and my colleagues at work. Im now seeing that people are getting misrepresentation ban for what i did and i dont know what to do.

Im in canada and all my experience shows progress and i have the documents for them. I make a good living here now and have a son on the way. How could i make such a silly mistake that can ruin my life. Has anyone else gone through this successfully? Should I submit an LOE or just wait from word from IRCC?

Funny thing is I received my study permit at the work place. I have proof from VFS canada that my port was sent to the work address im claiming for work experience. this all is just making me super paranoid.

Hi guys,

Just wanted to ask the people that got their PR's how often were your employers ed? or were they ed at all?
I kind of burnt a bridge at my workplace, I have all the docs but not sure what they would say if they were ed.

Thanks

Post graduate diploma in web design and development in canada

I have 5 years of work experience in tech as a software engineer. 1 company in Nigeria and 3 companies in Canada. Im currently employed and make good money.

My bosses,

im currently in canada and trying to apply for CEC. I need foreign work experience. I have 7 months of valid foreign experience (in Nigeria) that I can add now, but it's not enough. I need to find some other way to make up the remaining 5 months of work so I am thinking I can use NYSC.

is this possible? to use NYSC as work experience? it was by the government and I was paid for it so I should but im not sure.

if anyone has done this and was successful in their PR application can I know? and if so what did you add to your application. I have my Nysc certificate of completion along with pictures, but I dont have paystubs and would need to get them. how do I even go about that...

Thanks
