Chris Anyanwu of APGA beat Kema Chikwe of PDP in the Owerri Senatorial District. I noticed that someone had wrongly posted that PDP won the 3 senatorial seats.

It is clear that many people on NL have never ever watched a live football match in the Abuja National Stadium. Buhari was NOT sitting at the Popular stand. He was at the reserved/VIP stand. Please note that there is a difference between the VIP stand and the State Box which is reserved for Government officials.

The seats in the Popular stand do not have arm rests. They are only flat plastic seats while those in the VIP are seats with full backrests and armrests. Please next time we should try and get our information right before making assertions.

It should also be noted that Buhari, as Head of State, never ever attended any football match at the then National Stadium in Lagos, neither has he ever attended any other Super Eagles match at the national stadium since he left office.

It is noteworthy also that since Buhari left office, Nigeria has hosted the African Nations cup and two youth world cups and on no occassion did Buhari attend any match in these tournaments.

So whatever he is doing now is simply part of his election campaign.

@4llerbuntu . SA has more DSTV subscribers than Nigeria. Nigeria is presently 2nd in DSTV subscription list. Note that in SA almost every family has a Dstv Digital or Analogue system.
lacidi: 9:08am On Mar 17, 2011
I think we should, as educated people, check our information before making insinuations of exploitation. One of the posters had alledged that DSTV was exploiting Nigerians because it (DSTV) is a South African compnay. Out of curiousity, I went to the DSTV SA website and I found the following:

http://care.dstv.com/main.aspx?ID=2134

MultiChoice would like to advise all DStv and analogue customers that from 1 April 2011, the monthly subscription fees will increase. Wherever possible, the increases have been kept to a minimum.

We want to thank you for your during the past year.
DStv from R529.00 to R559 (5.6% increase)
DStv Compact R232.00 to R246.00 (6% increase)
DStv Select R149.00 to R157.00 (6% increase)

This shows that the increase also covers SA. Now the Bouquet in Nigeria is increasing from 9500 to 10300. The SA Bouquet is increasing from the Naira equivalent of 11,902 to 12,577 (@exchange rate of N22.5 to 1 Rand)

Simply put, we in Nigeria pay lower subscription rates than SA and even Ghana. Any claims of country exploitation is therefore totally unfounded. What we need is competition, that's the only way to drive down costs.

It is clear after reading most of the comments here, that many of the people on Nairaland have never lived in Nigeria before nor even visited this country. How a person who has ever lived in Nigeria will say that there is a possibility of forced marriage for a male child of 17 is beyond reason. Am shocked that people that call themselves Nigerians can actually make such assertions and it goes to show the level we will go in order to justify whatever the Oyibo people say .

For the avoidance of doubt, there is no way, I repeat, no way, a 17 year of MAN can be forced to marry in Nigeria, be he gay, hermaphrodite or whatever. The boy's father is a special adviser in Udaghan's government. The boy is presently schooling in a private secondary school (one of the most expensive in Nigeria) in Lagos. To date we have not seen the girl (maybe a 14 year old) he was being forced to marry. He has not also mentioned the name of any such girl. Or maybe they are still sourcing for the 14 year old? Will he also be forced to get an erection and sleep with the girl?

We should not let objectivity be thrown out of the window just because we want to patronize our oyibo masters.

Yes, please continue, unlike the Nigerian counterpart, click on the names of the other countries, you'd see that THEY ARE ALL IN SCHOOL, do that to our own players and see what you'd get.

I am waiting for your response.

School? I thought the issue was that they were playing for full clubsides. Now it is school? You shifting the posts again? You just need to convince yourself that they are age cheats don't you? Like all the girls that sell in markets, plait hair on the roadside, sell recharge cards/pure water on the road etc are all in school?

So why limit the school stuff to the girls from 'mostly Europe'? If having the name of the school is a standard why does this standard not apply accross board to the girls form all the participating countries? Why 'mostly europe'? Or are you looking for something, anything, to show that our girls are cheats?

Maybe they are in school, so what does that prove? Are you saying that the Nigerian girls have all ed school age? Like university age? Like I wasn't 16 when I was in the university? Or maybe the naija girls we all saw on TV are all above 24? shocked Is that what you are saying? Then the U-20 team will be like 28? And the Olympic team like 30 -32? Then the senior team like 35 - 36? What kind of genes do Nigerians women have that they keep playing up to 45 years, like Mercy Akide and Florence Omagbemi cheesy? By the way Mercy just had her 2nd baby last year, maybe after reaching menopause?

If I may ask, how old are you? Do you have a wife, girlfriend or younger sister? How old is she? What age was she when she finished secondary school? How tall was she at 16? can you elaborate?

You know what? It is clear that you have already condemned the girls as age cheats as is the culture in NL. It doesn't matter if you have any proof, its just what it is. So I will stop this argument and move on. Go ahead, call them names and cheats, it doesn't make any difference anyway. This is my last post on this issue, so have a good day.

Do youself a favor, go to any of the female football matches played in Nigeria (delta state to be precise), go feed your eyes.

a 15-17yrs old already playing in a professional league for YEARS in Nigeria grin grin grin grin grin, when did they start playing? 9? 10? 8? 11? from the womb or where?

Ok. So where on that list did it say how many years they have been playing in the league? It is a known fact that female footballer start playing at very young ages and most start playing for clubs when still in Secondary school. We have examples ranging from Florence Omagbemi, Mercy Akide to Perpetua Nkwocha.

I will however do exactly what you have done and print the list for other countries with the clubs they play for:

Just a question, do you think these girls are less than 17 years old? have you seen them play? seen their faces? can you compare them with a "17" years old girl from Nigeria? in a general settings?

Yes, i have seen their faces and I can compare them to any normal 17 year old in Nigeria. I am not sure you live in Nigeria, if you do, then you will not be asking this question. Have you seen a 16 year old Nigerian Girl? Seriously. I will advise that you make out time and go to an SS2 classroom in one of the secondary schools and tell me what you observed. Do you know that many of the girls you see in Year 1 in the Universities are still 16? Do you find it hard to believe?

Now I can tell you clealry that there is no apparent difference between a 16 year old and a 19 year old except maybe in carriage. You can check it out yourself.

You said that the analysts stated that they 'know' the girls to be MAMAs.

So you are saying that the analysts 'know' the girls personally and 'know' their ages? Did they say so on the programme? That they 'know'? Or did they say that they believe?

I did not watch the match on Sportsplash (whatever that is), but I need you to categorically state here that the analyst said that they 'know' the real ages of these girls.

Can you honestly say so?
lacidi: 1:27pm On Sep 06, 2010
And how did you come to a conclusion about the age of the girls? I assume we all watched the same match and I cannot really understand where your conclusion came from? Maybe you call tell me the age of the Germans also, oh, I forgot, they are Europeans and so they must be U-17 no mater how big/old they look.

I have noticed a trend on this NL. It is fashionable to make age cheating allegations against any Nigerian youth team. In fact even without seeing/knowing the players, it is acceptable in NL to just claim that they are older than the senior team. It makes the poster popular and everbody will then have a nice little laugh. Just know that one day someone will stereotype you and call you a 4.1.9ner.

You guys need to really grow up.

I don’t usually contribute to these types of debates on Niaraland, but as much as I have tried to restrain myself from this thread, I got totally angry when Sagamite stated that some of the girls are over 30 years!

It is one thing to accuse people of being age cheats, but when you now delve into the ridiculous, it behoves of well meaning people to challenge you.

The girls in question are mostly Rivers Angels players (at least 7 of them). I see them every Wednesday at Liberation Stadium during their evening training. I know at least 4 of them personally. It is simply mischievous therefore for someone who has never seen these girls physically outside a football field to come here and state that they are around 30 years.

I will really wish to know how a 30 year old woman can play football at this level. It may interest you to know that most of the players in the senior Falcons team today have been playing for Nigeria for over 10 years. At least 8 of the players that played in the U-20 women’s world cup in 2002 are still playing for the main Falcons team. If these set of players were around 30 years in 2002, that means that they are 40+ years now and still playing for the national team.

Maybe the fact that the previous teams didn’t get to the finals means that they were all within the age bracket?

I do not wish to speculate about other people’s ages, but I that sometime in 2001 one of my friends stated that Kanu Nwankwo was about 40 years also then. That makes him 49 years old now and about to sign a new 3 years deal with Portsmouth!!.

Today, people are saying that Yakubu is old and that is why he can no longer play well. What about Ronaldinho? His form went down drastically in the last 2 years. Is he an age cheat too? Kluivert was supposed to be younger than Kanu in Ajax. What happened to him? Did he forge his age too? Out of the Spanish team that won Nigeria 99 only Xavi and the goalkeeper are still playing for the national team. Nigeria went out in the quarter finals of that tournament and we still have Yobo and Rabiu Afolabi playing for the national team. So were the other Spanish players age cheats too?

I have not said here that there are no age cheats in Nigeria, but to come to a public forum and accuse people of being age cheats without any proof whatsoever except pictures, is rather mischievous and classless.

NOTE: I will not issues on this again, so don’t expect me to reply any subsequent rants.

DStv’s SuperSport is delighted to confirm that it has acquired the Nigerian rights to the Barclays Premier League for the next three seasons 2010/11 to 2012/13.

The arrangement includes 380 Barclays Premier League matches, plus the Premier League’s 24-hour content service in high definition. This seven-day-a-week service launches on August 13 and will be broadcast across the whole of sub-Saharan Africa, including Nigeria.

The Premier League has traditionally enjoyed outstanding viewership ratings on SuperSport and this commercial arrangement is expected to amplify the league’s popularity. The Barclays Premier League is the biggest continuous annual sporting event in the world, followed by more than 2.5 billion fans and broadcast to more than 500 million homes.

“Nigeria will be one of the very first countries to receive the 24-hour content service,” said Imtiaz Patel, CEO of SuperSport. “We are delighted to lead the way with our partners at the Premier League and associates in Nigeria.”

Commenting on the news, chairman of MultiChoice Nigeria, Adewunmi Ogunsanya, said: “We are happy to welcome back the English Premier League onto the DStv platform in Nigeria, to stand alongside the other exciting international soccer coverage we already provide to our subscribers here.

“However, our focus remains firmly on showcasing homegrown talent from the Nigerian Premier League and we will continue our investments in this regard.

“As a Nigerian business that is committed to providing our growing subscriber community across Nigeria with the world’s best channels and programming, we are pleased that SuperSport were able to take up the opportunity when it presented itself, to ensure that fans of this league will not miss any action from it.”

Premier League chief executive, Richard Scudamore, added: “We are pleased to extend our partnership with SuperSport into Nigeria and are confident they will continue to deliver a product that will showcase the Barclays Premier League to our many fans in the territory.”

@Dauchman

Its clear you have decided that you will never accept these things as true, you are only looking for ways to challenge the prophesy.

Now please note that TB Joshua is not a very articulate person, even in his normal preaching.

He said we need 1 goal to lead them. Yes he was correct. We needed 1 goal to beat Mozambique and that is a lead. Maybe you expected him to become a football analyst and explain that well we need to beat Mozambique in order to challenge Tunisia etc. He is not a football expert like you. All he knows is that we 'need 1 goal to lead them' and that statement is not ambiguous.

On the goal, he clearly stated as follows 'that boy will head the goal for us'. That is the most unambiguous statement in the whole prophesy and you still want to say it was not clear? He did not say that boy will score a goal for us, he said HEAD A GOAL!

In the Tunisia prophesy he said they could NOT DECIDE, the two team left the field equal. It ended a draw. If he was not sure why did he then come to the Mozambique prediction and say that we will smile and we will ‘head a goal’.

It is clear you really really want to discredit the whole prophesy thing but the video evidence is just too strong.
