djseanjohn77: Oh gosh and go learn how to read and comprehend instead of regurgitating putrid incoherent garbage. Illiterate. |

I am worried that my nation is sinking, just like the Titanic. The elite are whining and drinking, but we are about to hit an iceberg, and there are not enough life jackets or lifeboats. The builder of the Titanic in 1912 said that even God could not sink this ship. This overconfidence and assumption are now mirrored in Nigeria, which is sinking. I know why I have the right to say this. I was born before independence and enjoyed the good of this nation. It was the prosperity of this nation that made me who I am today. As the son of a refuse collector, I was able to attend medical school, one of the best in the Commonwealth at the time. I also attended one of the best secondary schools in the world and one of the best higher schools, where I did HSC at Government College Warri. I schooled with the children of the elite, ate like an elite, and had the best of this country. That's why I have stayed, invested so much here, and why I am speaking out. In those days, we could travel to the UK with just an ID card to complete part of our posting at Guy's Hospital in London. I didn't go, but my classmates did; they didn't need a visa. Today, our children are crossing the desert to pick tomatoes in Italy, and many of them are drowning. Today, our port is treated like trash, and traveling out of this country feels like trying to escape from hell. The number of documents you need to submit and the investigations you must go through before traveling out of this country make it feel like you want to enter heaven from hell. It is painful that our young ones have no hope. That's why some of our citizens in the north could fly Russian flags in their own country and call for Russia to intervene. Our nation is sinking. That's why Northern youths had the audacity to beg military men for a regime change, which is unconstitutional and should not be approved by anyone. Our country is sinking. When young men in the country protested against hunger and bad governance for ten days, they rolled out security operatives from all over Nigeria to shoot and teargas their own youths who were hungry. But just after that, in a country with very few medical doctors to care for over 200 million people, medical students traveling for a conference in Enugu were kidnapped by dirty illiterates. We don't know where they are, and they are demanding money. It is sad that a former commissioner, the wife of a prominent lawyer in my state who wanted to be governor, was kidnapped in a church, and a ransom was demanded. Nothing is sacred in this country. A commissioner, his wife, and his aide were traveling by road to Abuja for the wedding of the governor of Anambra State. They were kidnapped, and the aide was killed, just like the one in Delta State, where the security man was killed. They have just been released. It is sickening that a medical doctor in the Eye Hospital in Kaduna was kidnapped along with his wife and nephew from the hospital premises. For more than seven months, they have not been released, and doctors are protesting all over Nigeria and have threatened to go on strike. It is sickening to note that the policemen who were mobilized to teargas their children, wives, and parents started protesting in one of the South-South states for their salaries that had not been paid. Imagine policemen protesting—that's security dysfunctionality. I was watching on television the biggest yam market in the world, Zaki-Biam, where Major General Malu comes from, which is now desolate because the farmers can't go to their farms or access them. It is sickening that Ati, a community in Benue State, was invaded, and several people were killed. They haven't found some of the corpses to this day, and the town is empty. I was discussing with a Hausa man from one of the northern states, and he said that bandits have driven them from their communities, so they can't access their hometowns. Foreigners are now occupying our land, and we have a military that swore to protect the integrity of this country. It is sickening that you can't travel our roads—they are terrible. I haven't had public power supply for days; I generate my own power. I haven't had public water supply since I came to this town 24 years ago; I generate my own water. It is sickening that when you go to hospitals, you are told to buy everything, including bandages, plaster, syringes, and needles. It is sickening that a nation that is one of the greatest producers of crude oil sold their oil in advance to borrow money and squander it. Now, the refineries built in the land that has oil require us to buy crude oil from other countries or buy from the multinationals that we gave a certain percentage to. It is sickening that we have several refineries, but none of them is functional. We keep postponing the dates when a refinery will be operational. It is sickening that there are 24 oil wells in my mother's community, just a 10-minute drive from here, and another in my father's mother's village. Yet, all the communities here with oil wells still have to queue to buy petrol. I bought PMS at 900 naira per liter. It is sickening that we are degenerating. Someone with a certificate from Nigeria went somewhere and ended up as a security guard because people don't value our certificates. I feel sad. What saddens me most is seeing people on television defending this gross inadequacy, dysfunctionality, and failure. It is sickening to see that young men and women, just because they come from where certain politicians come from or belong to the political parties of these corrupt and inefficient politicians, continue to defend this. This country does not require rocket science to change it; it just requires a bold person. It is sickening that when you make these videos, those same people will be the ones to attack you, even though they are poorer than I am. It is sickening when a professor says that his salary is about $300—that is $30 or $10 per day, which is equivalent to one hour's work in the United States. A deputy vice-chancellor was saying that his salary is $300 a month. I don't know about his allowances, but a senator is taking home 21 million naira every month. They have impoverished the intelligentsia. No wonder the returning officers, who are professors, can rig elections for politicians because poverty has been weaponized against them. It is sickening that the judiciary is being investigated because of the abuse of the judicial process. It is sickening that we live in a country where frustration and bad news wake you up. It is sickening that the so-called men of God, God's generals, are mute, even those who protested before. It is sickening that they are now friends and parasites on those who are destroying this nation. When you talk, people say you are attacking their G.O. Do you have common sense? Do you have common sense? It is sickening that we have all these prosperity gospels, yet only about 4% of Nigerians have 500,000 naira as savings in their s—that is less than $400. Every day, we are sowing seeds; every day, they are telling us the secret of divine wealth, and we are seeing outrageous banners all over the place, disturbing us with the noise of their prayers. It is sickening that those who are destroying this nation have permanent residency permits in different countries with their children and wives, including the so-called God's generals that people are defending and protecting. It is sickening that when the bad governance protest was about to start, our legislators and politicians started fleeing. It is sickening that our presidential jets could be seized in . Our nation is sinking. Who will save this great nation with great minds and great talents? We went to the Olympics and didn't win any medals, and someone drew a cartoon suggesting that we were only called to say the closing prayer. Someone carried a big Quran and a big Bible—religion has become the assassin of the intellect of the average Nigerian. Who will save this wonderful country, Nigeria? Our own dear native land, this country so dear to me, but with evil leadership, only God can . 2 Likes |

helinues: Just because your tiny brain can’t process what I wrote doesn’t mean it's incoherent. 😂😂 I'm pretty sure you have no idea what that word even means. You probably stumbled across it online and, in your desperate attempt to sound intelligent, decided to throw it in without a clue. Stick to the basics—words with more than two syllables are clearly out of your depth.🤣🤣🤣🤣 4 Likes 1 Share |

helinues: Just because you are poor doesn't mean others are. Do you have any idea how wealthy David's father is? Because your ambition and life revolve around politicians who steal, you can't possibly grasp what it means to have generational wealth. Your tiny mind is so accustomed to stealing, scams, and corruption that you think that's the only way to make money. You've never done honest work in your fraudulent life, so you believe everyone can only make money from posting propaganda for corrupt politicians. That's why this appears as a way of life to you. Tell us openly one job you've held for any prestigious organization, and I will tell you mine right here. But you won't because you're neither a graduate nor have you held a job in any reputable firm for more than 2 months. Do you think life is about stealing and easy money obtained from criminals? Hahaha, you are just a child whose poverty has clouded his senses. When you finally get a degree and start building a career, you'll understand that wealth can be obtained through honest work. 34 Likes 3 Shares |

donem: I was telling a colleague the same thing yesterday. It's like they are delusional, wishing the problems away instead of tackling them head-on. They are relying on their divide-and-rule tribalism, which the Yoruba are fond of using. What they don't seem to realize is that hunger isn't about tribes. We don't care if the Ibo in the protest or not—that's their own problem—but hunger is ravaging everywhere, so the people are angry. The only people I pity are the very few good Yoruba because this protest will quickly turn all tribes against the Yoruba. Everyone will start attacking any Yoruba living in their state. Here in Edo, we have them, and trust me when I say that whenever we think of bad governance, the first point of anger is towards any Yoruba neighbors, its just that everyone is holding back for now. If Ibos like let them sit at home forever and not the protests, the rest of us other tribes are enough to push home our points. 3 Likes |

Yoruba people on this platform, please stop trying to create conflicts between us and the Igbos! I'm noticing a trend with paid bots on this website. It appears that because we often challenge you, some Yorubas are trying to impersonate us to attack the Igbos, while also creating s pretending to be Igbos to attack us. But why are some Yoruba people acting this way? Why does your tribe invest so much in sowing division and causing conflicts between others? Why do you feel the need to manufacture hate between two tribes or to forcefully present yourselves in a good light? There seems to be something deeply wrong with this behavior. Historically, we have never had issues with the Igbos; it is some Yorubas who have continually disrespected my people by claiming superiority and insisting that our Oba is subordinate to Yoruba kings. Igbos, please do not fall for this. Any attacks you see toward your tribe are likely being carried out by Yoruba individuals paid to impersonate us. Thank you. 83 Likes 13 Shares |
