Nipple shields is like a feeding bottle that you wear on your nipple. Express a little milk into the end of the shield so that milk will enter his mouth once he starts sucking. After some time, you take it off for him to suck directly. Another tip is to breastfeed him when he is not too hungry because he might not be too patient to suckle on the breast when he’s very hungry.

Hello mothers in the house .. I am a first time mom .my baby is 10 days old today. He has practically refused to suckle. If I put breast in his mouth he will shout and struggle to remove it . But if I express it inside feeding bottle he will take it without hassle . This is making me worried and am seeing some signs of postpartum depression in me. Each time he refuses my breast it breaks my heart and I will just sit down and be crying .. someone pls help me I DNT know what else to do

We are in the same shoes mama. You don’t have to make it weigh you down. Just be patient with him and you can also try using nipple shield, I heard it helps.

There are many brands of baby cream that are safe to use.
Cussons has a complete box of everything including oil, lotion, powder, wash, soap tablet,.
Angels, Johnsons also have similar sets too.

Jimpo is the natural version. Has all natural Shea butter and tear free black soap too. If you'd like to go natural for her, use Jimpo and coconut oil for her.

Boots soap bar is also great. Affordable and plenty, 4 big bars can last roughly six months sef. It has lotions and head to toe wash too

For her hair, there are many hair care ranges for kids.
I usually subscribe to them from when my kids are 6 months old.
There's Maracruiz (tested and trusted, has a whole range too) , Chebe hair care ( Aim07 here sells the whole range and it works! That's what I use for my kids currently and I'm already seeing changes especially with my littlest that has chop chop hair )
Then they should get a spray bottle and put water and coconut oil, mix and spray her hair whenever they want to comb her hair.

Nipple cleaning helps to open up the pores in preparation for breastfeeding, It can be done from 36 weeks. To clean the nipples, apply olive oil or coconut oil to the nipples and leave for 10 minutes before cleaning with a towel. I hope this helps. Well done!!!

Congrats on the new addition!!!! You are probably already producing colostrum, which is not as noticeable as breast milk. Colostrum is a nutrient-rich fluid produced immediately after giving birth and it is loaded with immune, growth and tissue repair factors.
Its could be as little as 1ml for each breast but very essential. Your milk should come in within a few days. Relax, be patient and snuggle that baby....
