If they've really secured a mortgage and the lender is aware, then its not your issue to worry about. If it's an AIP you have, it may be worth highlighting to the mortgage broker that you're on a visa as they may have missed it and it'd come up when the mortgage is applied for.

With the current rate of migration, I'm surprised most other large lenders have not expanded offerings to visa holders.
Thank you very much for your response. We have now gotten the mortgage offer. So I can say that HSBC now considers visa holders but you need to have been resident in the UK for at least 1 year.

Please, at what point in the house buying process do we need to get our insurance (life & home/content)?

It's a good rate i was offered by barclays 4.74 for 5years . Is it high?
I think it’s a good rate. Mine is 85% LTV, I guess that’s why it’s lower

This is probably unrelated to your question, but I recommend buying a house only after transitioning from a post-study visa, except you already know where you'll be working after PSV.

A house is a major commitment that ties you to that location and its surroundings, stripping you of the flexibility of being able to relocate for your ideal role.

Thanks for your response. I’ll be sponsored by my current employer, the process is already 90% complete.

Good afternoon all, my mortgage broker got secured a mortgage with me from HSBC and I’m surprised because I’ve never heard anyone mention them here, it’s mostly Barclays. We are currently on a post study visa and they got us a rate of 4.44%. Is it okay to go with them or is it possible that they’re missing something?

Hi guys, I’m new to this forum. I want to begin the process of buying a house, what is the first thing that I need to do? Do I get a solicitor first or should I look for the house first? Can someone also recommend a good solicitor please. Many thanks for your responses.

Hi mamas, I’m currently 36 weeks pregnant, so I went to toilet this morning, wiped when I was done and noticed blood on the toilet paper which not from my an*s. Since then I haven’t experienced any bleeding again, should I be worried please? I was constipated so I strained while using the toilet, I don’t know if that could be the reason.

If you’ve been feeding your baby only pap, you need to introduce other foods quickly before they get used to only pap and find it difficult to accept other foods.

For me, I never gave my child pap. From 6 months, I started giving her single purées like banana, green peas, oat, rice, avocado, carrot, sweet potato, apples, etc. At 7 months, I started combining 2-3 foods in purées like avocado & banana, sweet potato & fish, oatmeal and peanut butter an also introduced other fruits and foods like yogurt, pineapple, strawberry, pawpaw, plantain, etc.

By 9 months, she was eating normal food with us including swallow, except that it’s mashed for easy swallowing but not puréed. By the time she clocked 1, she was a pro in eating anything and everything.

Good afternoon sweet Mama's/papas.
This my question might be funny sha but I sincerely want to know.

What and what should a baby of 10 months be eating please. Lemme know if I'm on the wrong track. When are we supposed to stop feeding babies with pap?

Hello mamas, it’s been a while here. My DD is 2 now and I’m pregnant for my second. I’ve been trying to potty train her since last week and she seemed to be getting it but today we’re back to square 1.

I’ve been using the gentle parenting technique but it’s not working, please I just want to know if it’s possible to successfully potty train a child without some screaming and spanking as I don’t want to resort to that. Thanks

According to paediatricians, you should only get worried when a child is 18 months and is not yet walking. Your DD will definitely start walking unassisted soon.

Thank you. I pray it happens soon

Posts like this make me want to laugh and frown at the same time. Frown when I how I used to stress over getting my children to walk once they clocked a year. I laugh too because I'm yet to see any adult that they say he/she can stand but cannot walk. So why the stress.
What am I trying to say? Relax. Rest your mind jare. These children walk when they want to. Every child hits those milestones at their own pace. Those that started walking by 10 months, are they now running faster than Usain Bolt grin . Keep holding her hands to assist her. Sometimes leave her at a spot and stretch out a snack she likes towards her to see if she will be motivated to walk on her own.

One of my kids started walking at 1 year 3 months, another one at 9 months. The latter doesn't walk or run faster than the first one cheesy

Thank you. I tried to relax but my family are not helping at all. I’ll just keep doing my best

Please hold her hand and walk her round more often, it could be fear provided her legs are standing firmly on the ground then while you keep walking her once her mind is not there, slowly slip your hand out of hers and watch her. Please walk her with you very often

I actually think it’s fear but I feel she should’ve outgrown it by now. I have been holding her hand and walking around when I can but the moment I let go of her hand, she drops to her knees.
Keeky08: 3:39pm On Sep 13, 2022
Hello mamas, please my DD is 15 months and is still not walking. Since she clocked 8 months, she has been holding things and moving around them, also, she walks if I hold one of her hands. Please I don’t know what to do again because she even achieved every other milestone quickly except walking. I cry myself to sleep every night and I’m slowly getting depressed, family are also not helping at all because they feel I’m not teaching her. I currently live alone with just my DD and I’m working so I hardly even have time to teach her too, even times when I do, it’s as if she gets worse the next day. Has anyone had this kind of experience before? What did you do?

Please I’d appreciate a quick response because I’m slowly loosing it.

Ps: please pardon any typos because I’m crying as I type this

Hello mamas, I just this group recommend to be by Omakraid.
My wife gave birth yesterday and mother is yet to produce breast milk.
We are only giving him water and some baby food.
What can be done to make the breast milk comes faster?

Congratulations to your family and than God for safe delivery. Please let your wife keep nursing the baby even if nothing is coming out. As the baby sucks, it will stimulate milk let down. She can also massage her breast with towel soaked in hot water. Also, let her eat oats and pap, take lots of water and rest, some people recommend fresh palm wine too.

Finally, please do not give your baby water until he/she starts eating solids.

Hello Sabi mamas, trust we are doing well. Please I need your assistance.

My baby will be 6 months old on Thursday and she has been exclusively breastfeeding since 5 days after birth (she was on SMA gold when I was not lactating yet). Because I introduced bottle early, she stopped sucking directly so I’ve been pumping to feed. My breast milk supply was good in the first 4 months and I was able to freeze some of the milk, however, after 5 months, my supply dropped and now we’re completely out of breast milk including the frozen ones.

We are currently relying only on what I’m able to pump in a day (only about 600mls) which I feel is too small for her age. I tried re-introducing SMA gold but she rejected it. Please can someone suggest an affordable formula that tastes like breast milk so that I can compliment or is 600mls in a day okay?

PS: We will be starting solids on Thursday when she clicks 6 months.

Thanks for the responses

Hello mamas. Please my lo is 3weeks and 4days old, she es a lot of gas and her tommy makes a lot of noise, she is uncomfortable most times and doesn’t poo everyday like she used to sometimes for two days. My breast milk supply isn’t much atall till now even after taking a lot of pap, oats and staying hydrated so I co-feed her with peak 0-12 months infant formula. I also give her water sometimes. Please what can I do to ease the discomfort? Her pediatrician told me to get infacol colic relief but it’s really scarce here. Is it possible the formula or what I’m eating is what is making her constipated? How often should I give water since she isn’t exclusively breast feeding yet. Can I switch formula? If I can to which one?
Thank you

Hi mama, my baby had the rumbling tummy issue and couldn’t sleep all through night when she was about 3 weeks. A warm water massage on her tummy helped and she was able to stool the next day.

For the poo frequency, I learnt that pooing 3 times in a week is fine that it must not be everyday.

You can increase your milk supply by doing power pumping. It worked for me and I was even looking for where to store the excess breast milk. You can check google to know how it’s done either using manual or electric pump. I can also help with the procedure if you are interested.

Beans and spicy good is one culprit for gas in babies.

Same thing happened with my son. It could be that your daughter is meant to be naturally dark, so no worries there.

Although I switched to mobaby products (shea butter), and his colour is gradually returning.

Chai, DH and I are fair why will she want to be dark embarassed. I’ll try the product. Thank you

I want to ask if it's possible for the stitch to come off after one week. This past Saturday made it exactly a week I delivered and when I was bathing that Saturday I saw the thread that was used to stitch the tear when I was having my sit bath. I'm a little bit worried because I checked down there with a mirror and noticed a small piece of skin but it's not bleeding. But I'm not having pain, though the doctor said that the tear was small but I'm wondering if it's possible for the stitch to come off within a week

This happened to me too on 2 different occasions after pooping. I was scared to death but I later read about it online that I was normal for some stitches to come off.

BS! BS!! BS!!!

LONG POST ALERT

After our wedding in December 2019, DH and I decided to wait for about a year before having a child. We didn’t use any contraceptive but we were doing withdrawal and calendar method to prevent pregnancy.

In first week of September 2020, I took ill with symptoms of malaria. That period was a very busy time for me at the office and I could not afforded to be sick so I quickly took anti malaria medicine (Amatem). After taking it for 3 days and I still didn’t feel better, I decided to take antibiotics with the mindset that it could be typhoid fever, meanwhile, my period was to start by weekend. I completed my dose on Saturday and my period did not show up, I just thought it was delayed because of the drugs I had taken which has never happened tho. It was after waiting for a week that I realized that I could be pregnant. At that point I decided not to take any medication again until I do a pregnancy test. I had a very busy work schedule that period and was not able to do the home pregnancy test until after 3 week and a BFP was there staring at me. I had mixed feelings firstly because the baby had come earlier than planned, secondly because I had taken medications that shouldn’t be taken in first trimester but I was happy tho because I knew it was God’s plan.

I was still feeling sick so I finally decided to go to the hospital, I was 10 weeks then. The doctor recommended malaria and PT test for me and they both came out positive. Even after the test at the hospital I still did not come to with the fact that I was pregnant until I did my scan the next week and saw my LO dancing in my tummy.

First trimester wasn’t really easy, work was crazy, I had to travel almost every week to different states while battling with nausea and vomiting. I also started having meat and tea aversion which continued till delivery.

In the second trimester, the nausea and vomiting continued for the first three weeks before it finally stopped. Towards the end of the trimester, I started having pelvic pains especially when I want to stand up.

By the third trimester, the pain increased and changing position in bed was not easy at all. My feet were swollen and my hands were bigger too because my wedding ring could no longer fit into my finger.

Throughout the pregnancy, I always knew I was going to deliver on my EDD because of how accurate it was. My LMP, first scan (11 weeks), second scan (26 weeks) and third scan (36 weeks) all said that my EDD was 25th May.

On 24th May around 4am, I started having irregular contractions and was unable to sleep from that time. By morning, I went out early and on my way back I decided to stop by at the hospital to be checked since the contractions became more regular. The doctor confirmed that I was actually contracting but after performing a VE, I wasn’t dilated at all. I was asked to go home and return if there is a bloody show, mucus plug or my water breaks and that I should walk around the house.

When I got home, I decided not to rest until I hit 10,000 steps (the highest had been 6,000 since I became pregnant). After that, I decided to poop around 11pm because I heard stories of people pooping while pushing and I didn’t want that to happen to me. I noticed a bloody show when I wiped, that was when I smiled and told myself that it was finally time. We started preparing to leave for the hospital and by past 12 midnight on May 25th we left the house.

On getting to the hospital, I was examined and still no dilation even with the regular contractions. The doctor decided to it and induce me by morning. By 5am, I was taken to the labor ward, VE was done and I was finally 2cm dilated. Misoprostol was then inserted into my cervix and I returned to my room. The contractions were still coming but not so painful tho. Around past 12 noon, my water broke spontaneously just when the misoprostol dose was about to be increased. I was taken to the labor ward and that was when the pain increased although holding my husband made me feel much better. The nurses kept checking how dilated I was as well as LO’s heart rate while I was contracting, it was quite inconvenient but the nurses were nice so they also helped to ease the pain by rubbing my back.

I was 3cm dilated when I was taken to the labor ward after my water broke, 1 hour later, it was 7cm. At that point, I started asking for epidural but was told that I had come to far already. I had to bear the pains till I was finally 10cm and ready to push. I was asked to push when the contractions come and by my third push, my little princess came flying out and immediately all the other pains were gone. I had serious tears as I wasn’t given episiotomy.

It’s 1 month already and the 4th trimester has not been funny but I bless God’s name because of the beautiful gift He gave me. I’m grateful to God for a smooth pregnancy journey and an easy delivery too.

I wish all the waddling mamas a safe delivery and I pray that all TTCs will testify soon.

I will be back in 2023 with my blue jet.
