Hi guys.
I have an SA girlfriend and we've agreed that I visit her in SA.
We are looking at a month-long trip/vacation in May and she's willing to me in of letter of attestation and sorts for Visa processing.

I'm comfortable and have a good statement for my proof of funds.

Considering these information, do I stand a chance to get a Visa before May if I start my application now?
Also, how can I start my application, and what's the best route to take.

Gracias.

I would recommend you plan your trip for June or July. I was in a very similar situation back in Jan, my girlfriend did all that was needed from her end and we applied for the e-visa on Jan 03rd with Feb 09th as the travel date. I got a denied application on Feb 23rd which happened to be the exact date I indicated as my return date. Their reason for the denial? "Travel date elapsed as at the time of adjudication."

I am looking to apply again by April end with travel date scheduled for last week of July. Hopefully, the 3 months interval will be sufficient for their very slow adjudication process.

I applied for evisa same day with someone on 16th January, 2023. They got their evisa today. Still waiting for mine though. The anxiety no be here. My flight is next week.

For real? I applied on January 03rd, travel date was yesterday but till this moment no outcome on my application yet.
JUCEleonu: 12:01pm On Feb 02, 2023
Just to lend a voice to all that has been said thus far. A simple email or call to the official VFS helpline is all anyone needs to confirm that the VFS e-visa portal is legit. I personally reached out via email and they sent a link to the very same portal. @Anniebam has also confirmed that she's also reached out and gotten the same information. It is really disheartening to see someone trying so hard to discredit the good work some people are doing here.

I understand that anxiety can get one frustrated and act up sometimes, but it would be wise to at least do some due diligence before you call anyone out.

That said... I really want to appreciate Tryhard and all others who have so patiently helped a lot of us here with valuable information. Please do not because of this outburst stop your good work. I am still awaiting an outcome for my visa application, but however, that goes, you guys really helped make the process easy for me.

Listen up everyone, the guys running this website: https://southafrica.vfsevisa.com/ are scammers. Ensure not to fall their victim. the likes of tryharder and Myst77 are just plain scammers. This is why you have not received any information update cos you applied for the SA evisa using their website - https://southafrica.vfsevisa.com/. They will ask to send an email to [email protected] but be rest assured that no response will come forth. Naturally, you will then find your way after being tired and frustrated.

Likely, whom ever opened this thread meant a goodwill to help people find their feet but alas, if there is a Judas or a Lucifer in the most holy places, how much more a thread on Nairaland.

For people who have fallen victim, its so sad that despite the situation in the country, some people still derive joy to rip innocent Nigerians off their hard earned money through any means possible.

I believe these guys mentioned above especially Myst77 have scammed a lot of unsuspecting people. His profile just shows that he ed 11th January 2023 and has not created any topic but actively campaigned and encouraged people to for SA e-visa using https://southafrica.vfsevisa.com/

I plead with the rest of us to try and be our brothers keepers and call out scammers anytime we discover them and I as well beckon on Nairaland to block their s immediately to avoid more victims.

WHY THIS POST?

I applied for the SA e-visa through the much d website - https://southafrica.vfsevisa.com/. See below the confirmation of payment and successful submission since 3 days till now, i have not received any email on my payment and confirmation of my submission. Worst of is that I can't log back in on the website AND 87USD IS GONE.

That amount multiplied by 100 and then 1000...etc. From honest and unsuspecting Nigerians.

I know many people are already a victim of this but keeping quiet has made more people fall victim. I will not keep quiet on this so that no other person becomes a victim.

Except Seun is just concerned about his paycheck, the integrity of this site and diligence of the s could be heading for shambles!!

This is me seriously waiting for someone to say this isn’t true… cuz if it is, omooooooooo

Twice last week ooo, I got thesame “ your case has been escalated “ reply. Maybe I have to send another email, this wait is tiring, travel date has ed.

Sorry about that… my travel date is next week. Today makes it exactly 20 business days since I applied and it doesn’t seem like any action has been taken on my application. My host hasn’t been ed by the Home Affairs and I don’t think my employer has been either (not sure if they usually do anyways)… but my point is at this rate I’m not even sure about receiving an outcome between now and my planned travel date.

So much for a supposed e-visa.

So no update from VFS e visa up until now?😳🥹

We are both in the wait together. Sent another email to them today. How many times have you reached out and what has their response been?

Hi everyone. I’d appreciate if anyone could share an email to reach SA’s DHA office. My host is considering reaching out to them to find out why the delay.
JUCEleonu: 5:22pm On Jan 24, 2023
Myst77:
Lol - I really do hope not. I think you should wait till 25 January 2023 (applying 15 working days)

Just for the sake of keeping the hope alive and not jumping into any quick conclusion, I’d assume that anybody who submitted in the last week/last 2 weeks of December 2022 and 1st week or first 2 weeks of January 2023 may potentially not get their outcome in 10 working days. I’m just going to assume that there were less officers on duty during these periods because of the holiday and the fact that most people go on leave during these periods. These are only assumptions and not based on facts.

Please anyone else that has been waiting past the 10-day processing time should please signify (+state date they applied) so that we know whether to lose hope or not lol.

I applied Jan 03rd and got a reference number and notice of onward transmission to DHA on Jan 04th. Counting from Jan 04th to today Jan 24th and it’s exactly 14 business days.

I sent VHS a follow up mail yesterday to which they responded saying my application is still under review but they have escalated it. As of this morning they sent another mail saying it is still under review… for context the 2nd mail this morning was probably still a response to my follow up email of yesterday because I sent it twice.

Bottom line is as of 05:20pm (6:20pm SAT) today, I’m yet to get an outcome for my application. My travel date (Feb 09th) is fast approaching and I’m one who likes ample time to plan a trip.

It’s possible
The visa is multiple entry

The e-visa is a multiple-entry visa you mean?
JUCEleonu: 6:33pm On Jul 14, 2022
Hi everyone,
Quick question to those who have gotten SA tourist visa (especially the e-visa)...does it allow for multiple entries?
I would like to visit SA, and while at it make a short visit to the neighboring country Mozambique, then come back to SA before returning to Nigeria. Is that possible?

bros, your flight reservation can expire the next day. It doesn’t matter. No need to pay anybody for flight reservations that would last 3 months or any duration.
What the embassy wants to see is a flight itinerary that tallies with when you say you are entering and leaving their country.it can expire before you submit your application sef. Don’t let that bother you.

Thanks so much for this information. I truly appreciate.

Sincerely yours, I don't link people when it comes to issues like this to avoid the story that touch. If you sta in Lagos, we have loads of them in Tafewa Balewa Square.

June is kinda far for such. A much closer date like April is fair.

I'd answer all questions to the best of my knowledge for us all to learn and share ideas.

Thanks again... While I totally understand your concerns about such issues, I just feel I'd be susceptible to meeting swindlers if I were to just go asking around for these IATA guys, I'd feel more at ease if there was an office or person I could go straight to. But either way, I will give it a shot...and yeah I stay in Lagos.
I will also find out if doing it for a date in June is too far off.

With what I see on the site, you have to start a fresh application. Not sure you can go back. No button. I did mine twice as well. Check all these IATA guys, they know how to fix it. They will collect a token from you.

Since its flight reservation, schedule it a month ahead of your departure. I believe if the visa is issued earlier that expected, you can buy the ticket and move.

I advise you to ensure your application is filled properly because this time, approval and rejection will be released on time.

Hi @meetme01, thanks for the swift response. I'll create a new application as advised...
Just to be sure I got what you said, those IATA guys you referred to can help with an extended flight reservation, yeah? Plus can you please help with a link or number to any of the IATA guys? My planned time of travel is June/July, so I believe I should be able to get an extended reservation from them, yeah?
As an aside... Seeing as you're steps ahead in this e-visa application, can I get your number so I can reach out directly to you in the event I need help/guidance on something?
Thanks once again.

Hi everyone, I have been following the e-visa thread and would love to know if it applies to students as well. Due to the closure of the vfs offices in Lagos and Port Harcourt, can we apply for study visas online too?
I saw study visa as one of the choices on the e visa platform so I am confused.
Please help me out with clarifications and guidance.
Thank you

Hi... I may be wrong, but I did see somewhere that the e-visa is for short-term visits.

Good morning FAF.

@ meetme01, @ Juceleonu & others.

Please, share e-visa application link here.

I av tried it on Google search but had a challenge to access it.

In addition, can I apply 3 months before/prior to my travel date?

How much is visa fee pls?

https://ehome.dha.gov.za/ePermit/

That's the link, create a profile, and get started. I have no idea how much it is as I haven't gotten to the fee payment stage. But @meetme says it's within the range of #11,000-#13,000.

Thank u.

meetme01:

N11,000 - N13,000 depend on exchange rate.

The information you fill determines the documents to be submitted but SOA, port, Yellow Card, etc and required.

Hi, @meetme01 I have also applied for the e-visa and I am currently at the document stage. I would like to know what you did for the flight reservation. I reserved a flight with Air Peace but the reservation lasts only 3 days. If my reservation is expired by the time I the document or the embassy goes through it, will it affect my application (ie lead to visa denial)? Is there a way I can get an extended flight reservation? Is it advisable I fill out a new application? or should I proceed with the current application, the documents and make payment regardless of the duration of the hold on the ticket reservation?
Please advise based on your experience.
Thanks.

E-Visa for Nigerians? Nigeria was never part of the countries in scope for SA E-Visa. Please carry you documents and head to the VFS as usual.

Nigeria is on the list for the second phase which is supposed to commence this February, but with the present COVID-19 situation in South Africa, one can't tell if it will still commence on the said February.

Hello everyone,

I have 3 questions as regards getting South Africa's visitors visa, and I'd really appreciate if someone here could help answer them all...

1. What is the minimum amount one should have in their to avoid being denied a visitor's visa?

2. If the person I am visiting in South Africa writes an invitation, will I still need to do hotel booking?

3. Can I use a savings bank statement, or must it be a current bank statement?

Thanks in anticipation.
