General South Africa Visa Enquiries (2039526 Views)
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 2:36pm On Jan 24, 2023 |
Has anyone who applied for a long term visa between Jan & Aug 2022 received an outcome since then? We know the applications are being adjudicated upon in Pretoria due to DHA’s directive at the time but, nobody seems to have reported an outcome since then, which is very disturbing.

Myst77:What think is that people have given up on this South application for long term visa |

Myst77: Not me but I know of people who got critical skills and Permanent residency results last week (both were positive). |

KazikageSama: Thank you! Some good news. It would be good to know the length of time they waited for their outcome just to have an idea of the average processing time. It’s beginning to look like 6-9 months wait time for Jan-Aug 2022 applicants; don’t know about September 2022 upwards. At least, knowing will help others to manage their expectations. |

Myst77: 8-9months or so. |

Myst77: Study permit wasn’t part of the whole adjudication in Pretoria as it was done in Abuja. 1 Like |

Myst77: I applied Jan 03rd and got a reference number and notice of onward transmission to DHA on Jan 04th. Counting from Jan 04th to today Jan 24th and it’s exactly 14 business days. I sent VHS a follow up mail yesterday to which they responded saying my application is still under review but they have escalated it. As of this morning they sent another mail saying it is still under review… for context the 2nd mail this morning was probably still a response to my follow up email of yesterday because I sent it twice. Bottom line is as of 05:20pm (6:20pm SAT) today, I’m yet to get an outcome for my application. My travel date (Feb 09th) is fast approaching and I’m one who likes ample time to plan a trip. |

Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 11:57pm On Jan 24, 2023 |
KazikageSama: Sadly correct. Unlike the SA embassy in Nigeria that would rather remain silent and give vague answers through VFS, the SA embassy in was open about the reality of the processing time for visa applications submitted between Jan and Aug 2022. It really helps to manage expectations and at least, this confirms our speculation about the processing time for long term visas submitted between Jan and Aug 2022. Here’s a link to their website: https://www.afriquesud.net/index.php?lang=en and a snapshot of their public notice.

docjosh001: The requirement for SA police clearance certificate does not apply to every applicant. It only applies to applicants who at 18 yrs & above have lived in SA for 12 mons or more. In any case, if they got positive outcomes, it’s safe to assume that they submitted “valid” documents (including police clearance). |

Temtem22: OP you like too much talk oo kaiii. What the OP up there said is simple. Take it or leave it. Pretoria is close to Joburg and Soweto and as such they use OR Tambo Airport. |

So no update regarding VFS e visa ?🥹🥺 SA visa is really the weapon fashioned against applicants because what in God’s name is going on? The website says 5-10 working days but apparently it’s not so. Also, I have noticed that travel agents have hijacked this VFS e visa, charging people outrageous fees and probably bribing their way through while innocent applicants are made to wait indefinitely. This is a serious eyesore and someone needs to sue VFS 🤧🥲

If you need link in getting tourist visa from Nigeria, send a pm before you apply. Not free though. The consulars in Abj aren’t smiling. 1 Like |

Anniebam: Extend your expectant date to 15working days. I think we both applied same day or a day apart. So it’s at worse case scenario, tomorrow. Those who applied earlier didn’t notice this delay but as usual, DHA seems a corrupt institution. 1 Like |

Omo this E-visa delay is everywhere o not just Nigerians, seem they’ve stopped attending to the e-visa..nawa o! Sticker visa no go area, E-visa too wan turn no go area. If you ask them now they will say it’s COVID

Blurpy: Sticker or e-visa? |
Tryhard: 8:19am On Jan 25, 2023 |
Anniebam: I suspect the pressure on e-visa is now much because of the slow release of sticker visa. Sticker visa would most likely reach you weeks after your travel date has ed. Plus if you are going for an event or something that has time frame and the event has elapsed, you’d get a refused decision. So that’s why a lot are now avoiding sticker visa & getting the e-visas 2 Likes |

Tryhard: Well the funny thing is , the VFS e visa hasn’t helped relieve the pressure on sticker visa in any way. I would ordinarily assume that those who applied late last year for sticker visa should be getting decisions by now but unfortunately that’s not the case and I know few people in this predicament. Some while waiting for sticker visa had to apply for e visa , now everything is tuck. Even top world countries will not give anyone this amount of stress. SA immigration/ embassy are just so inefficient, same problem those who applied for permit inside SA are facing. |
Tryhard: 8:34am On Jan 25, 2023 |
Anniebam: Do you know what’s even funny, it’s a year now Lagos stopped collecting applications and I don’t think there are plans on opening the Lagos office for visa applications. And Abuja receives nothing less than 120 applications in a day and it’s only one person adjudicating. If Lagos should open these pressure would reduce. |
Temtem22: 8:39am On Jan 25, 2023 |
shigo04: SA police clearance is definitely a requirement in this application Let him go to any police station and get his fingerprints done(with his port photograph on it) then DHL it including his data page, SA PC application form and payment receipt to the SAP criminal record service in Pretoria. Processing is 6 weeks. |

Hi everyone. I’d appreciate if anyone could share an email to reach SA’s DHA office. My host is considering reaching out to them to find out why the delay.

Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 4:24pm On Jan 25, 2023 |
JUCEleonu: If you applied via VFS evisa platform, your best bet is [email protected] even if they give you unsatisfactory . If you applied via DHA evisa platform, your best bet is [email protected]. If VFS evisa, you can also try your luck by sending an email to HACC. If your reference number is something they can track from Pretoria, they’ll be happy to give you an update (no assurances here either). You can also call them on 0800 60 11 90. If they can’t track it, they’ll tell you to the embassy (no help here) or the VFS evisa email. Some have tried [email protected] - you can try this to. Click link for DHA staff emails you can send complaints to depending on your visa type - in your case, “temporary residence permits” but they may not give you any response and I’m not sure they can help with tourist visa applicants from Nigeria. They are mainly focused on applications submitted within SA: http://www.dha.gov.za/index.php/immigration-services?fbclid=IwAR2tP1RPbTBPtTYTb63i6wSTC1QybCAbWFf6DLyn1Je69Rbs70z_cl2Fz_A Good luck! 3 Likes |

Tryhard: This is good news but, why would they give someone single entry (14 days only) for a visa validity of 3 months? Is the person a first time traveller? Multiple entry would have been most ideal. Anyway, at least visa is in hand! All the best to the person. 2 Likes |
