I am a rider and I am price sensitive. I disagree that Nigeria would suffer without Uber though. In fact, I am currently recruiting Uber and Taxify drivers for an international ride-hailing app that has silently entered Nigeria. It has a much more juicy package for both drivers and riders.

Buy a Tokunbo Toyota Corolla 2005 for between 1.7 to 1.9m, use and sell as Nigerian used car for between 1.1m to 1.3m
In both cases, the car sold for about 500 to 600k less than Tokunbo price

Now, talk to me again about second hand value.

PS: the above statement assumes that both vehicles are properly maintained

On the long run in case anything goes wrong you can always liquidate and not loose so much..
I don't see myself buying any other brand asides Toyota cause of resale value and repairs

You buy it cheap, you sell it cheap. You buy it high, you sell it high. So all this talk about resale value doesn't make sense to me.

Having said that, I agree that Toyota is the best for the job in of reliability. Even at that, I can only recommend 3 Toyota models: Corolla, Matrix and Yaris.
