[Let him do something about it.]PRESIDENT BUHARI REGRETS INCONVENIENCE CAUSED BY PETROL, ELECTRICITY SHORTAGES

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed sincere regrets for the inconvenience caused to citizens of the country following a prolonged shortage of petroleum products, something that the istration has successfully averted in its seven years in office.

According to the President, “the istration knows the fuel shortage has placed a strain on Nigerian citizens and businesses, but relief is on the way. I especially apologize to all sections of society for this.

“The government is working round the clock to attend to this issue. An action plan agreed upon earlier this month is being implemented to address the scarcity. Working together with the Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN) and the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), this plan is now bearing fruit. Sufficient fuel supply has returned to a handful of states, with the queues at stations falling. In the coming days, we expect this to be the case across the rest of the country.

“Looking to the longer term, funds are being targeted toward keeping fuel availability affordable for the country. The international energy markets have surged drastically in recent months, the government will however ensure that consumers are protected against these price spikes.”

The President added that he has received information that some people are not behaving properly at the depots and among owners of petrol stations and in this regard, he has directed the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), the NNPC and the entire security apparatus of the nation to take strong action against those responsible.

On the issue of electricity blackouts being experienced across the nation, President Buhari remarked that “the blackouts seen in the national grid are also being addressed. A dip in hydroelectric generation due to seasonal pressures has coincided with technical and supply problems at thermal stations. On this, the government is also working tirelessly to resolve the issues at the latter to guarantee sufficient power flows into the national grid.”

As part of emergency measures put in place following a meeting convened with key stakeholders to address the low power generation in the country, the main challenge was identified as being one of low gas power generation as a result of sabotage of gas pipelines leading to the shutdown of power plants coupled with ongoing routine maintenance on other gas power plants.

To recover over 1000MW, actions were agreed upon between the players in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI) and also NNPC. The actions targeted the National Integrated Power Project (NIPP) plants, (Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) and power plants run under NNPC t Ventures, Agip and Shell (NAOC and SPDC) and progress on the key actions have already ensured the restoration to the grid of 375MW after the pipeline from “Okpai 1” was repaired.

To also ramp up the underutilised capacity of the NDPHC capacity, a USD 50 Million Gas Supply agreement is being finalized to secure the sustainability of up to 800MW of underutilized NIPP assets.

The President assures that government’s attention to these problems will bear fruits very soon.

His ancestral lineage was traced to the Onuigwe family in Aguluezechukwu, Aguata LGA of present day Anambra state.

Incidentally, the Onuigwe family has a history of producing pastors, Rev. O.C Dominic, G.O of National Evangelical Movement being also an Onuigwe.
Onuigwe Victor Chinenye from Aguluezechukwu was the chaplain of Pentecostal Church during our 2001 set in St. Peter's Special Science School, Achina, Aguata L.G.A., Anambra State.
This means that men of God always come from that family.

Some sentence sound great but are wrong cos rules of grammar example concord isn't obeyed

Whenever u’re talking about something that isn’t a reality at the moment, It doesn’t matter whether we are referring to a single person or a group of people subject. As soon as we cross the border between reality and speculation, “were” is the word to be used...

Examples of what I mean:

I was rich and I owned a house at the seaside.(reality: was will be used)
If I were rich, I would have owned a house at the seaside. (hopeful reality i.e non existent at the moment: were will be used)

He was the captain of the team and he chose a different strategy.

If he were captain of the team, he would have chosen a different strategy.

So, for ur above statement:

If it happens that all animals were tamed, domesticated and turned pets, which animal would you love to have as a pet?
See you wey dey correct person wey dey correct another person.
You said...If I were rich, I would have built a house at the seaside (wrong).
Instead of...If I were rich, I would build a house at the seaside OR If I had been rich, I would have built a house at the see side. The same goes with your second example about the team captain.
Then in the real case study...If it happens that all animals were tamed, domesticated and pets, which animal would you love to have as a pet? You got it right here, but if you said...would you have loved to be as a pet?...you would be wrong.
NOTE: If you're using past tense in the principal clause, then you MUST use the same past tense in the subordinate clause, and not past conditional. If you use past perfect in the principal clause, then the following clause will be in the past conditional case.

Holy Matrimony - Holy Sabbath - Holy Sex...Keeping your marital obligation by having sex with your wedded partner on Sabbath day is part of keeping the Sabbath day holy.
You should not deny each other his or her conjugal right once wedded in a HOLY MATRIMONY unless by a mutual agreement because anything contrary to this is a disobedience to the Biblical injunction in 1 Corinthians 7:1-11, precisely, 4-5.
So sexual intercourse by rightly wedded couples on any day at any time (be it Sabbath day) is always holy and not sinful.
All these people saying 'it is a sin' are already committing sin as they are condemning what is right (sex on the Sabbath day in the holy matrimony instituted by God) because they want to be "MORE CATHOLIC THAN THE POPE."

END OF DISCUSSION.

Did anybody force him to enter the Seminary School to become a priest, I guess no?
In Catholic Church, priesthood is a lifetime acceptance, promise and declaration to work in the Lord's Vineyard. He took everlasting oath on the Alter of God to be His obedient servant as a Catholic Priest forever. This is not a political appointment or position where you can easily step down. It was quest for material things and maybe disobedience that led him to this resignation.
I am expecting him to apologize to God Almigthy - to Whom he swore to serve as a priest on the day of his ordination, the Pope, Bishops, Priests and the entire Catholic Faithful world over and come back to Catholic and resume his duty as a priest.

NO GOING BACK IN PRIESTHOOD.

Ronaldo is a great player no doubt and I like his consistency which was as a result of his hard work while Messi is a god and his is innate. Messi does not need much of hard work before he proves himself as the best. only if he has the kinda team mates Ronaldo has presently, Ronaldo won't be able to match him at all
Hahaha Argentina and Portugal which team is better? I think you'll go for Argentina, but Messi lost three consecutive finals from 2014 to 2016 and I don't think Ronaldm will lose three consecutive finals. He MUST perform a magic to make it.

I'm from Anaocha and I can tell you that no one uses bekee in Adazi or Agukwu.
Nwanne just go and read Igbo journals and Bible. You can't see oyibo in any of them or official books/papers written in Igbo, just to tell you that it is not an original word.
I take my bow.

It is often said that 'oga' comes from 'organizer' in pre-colonial days. It came from situations like hosted events, ceremonies or parties where the person in charge, called the 'organizer' which Nigerians freshly exposed to English then had difficulty in pronouncing it in full, and shortened it to 'oga' in pronunciation.

I often see the general 'consensus' among many Nigerians that any popularly used word across Nigeria comes from south west, which isn't always true.

There is no 'real' Igbo or 'fake' Igbo. Your understanding of Igbo is quite cursory and it is evident you didn't grow up in the east, thus viewing Igbo from the side of Igboland you are from. Bekee is an Imo/Abia thing. I am from Anambra but spent about 12 years in Owerri. I only heard 'bekee' outside - at school or in the church etc. My family on both sides (dad - anambra, mom - enugu) all used Oyibo. Even my paternal grandmother's name is Oyibolalu. Imo/Abia people sometimes even use oyibo, depending on the situation.

You mentioned you grew up in the west and your only understanding or exposure to Igboland was through your immediate family who are from Imo/Abia, thus I am not surprised you think the 'real Igbo' word is 'bekee'. You are not that exposed as you think.
Hahaha, I can't stop laughing. How could you appropriate me to Imo or Abia State because of your purported thinking that bekee originated from both states?
I am from Anaocha L.G.A., Anambra State, lived in Oyo State, had my tertiary education in FUTO and currently working in Awka. This is to tell you that I have full knowledge of what I am saying here. Oyibo/Oyinbo belongs to Yoruba and bekee belongs to Igbo.

Nobody say ala bekee in Anambra, that's what they use in Imo and Abia State. We say Obodo Oyibo, asusu Oyibo, onye ocha. There is nothing like real or fake Igbo, every Igbo dialect is real Igbo. That Ala bekee used in Imo and Abia was chosen to represent written Igbo by those who compiled the written Igbo, does not make obodo Oyibo used in Anambra and Enugu wrong /fake Igbo.

Nobody uses Oya in Igboland, we use "Ngwanu", on Aso ebi, I agree with you, and it's generally accepted that it is a copied word, though my grandfather use to call it "ndi Achom di " rather than "ndi Aso ebi ". No Igbo person is claiming Aso ebi or Oya as Igbo words, so stop muddling things up to wriggle yourself out of your self inflicted conundrum.
Young man, go and meet any Igbo scholar nearest to you, Bekee is the Igbo word for Whites and not Oyibo. Oyibo is derived from a Yoruba word, oyinbo. Oga is also widely used in Igbo conversation, but not Igbo word at all. I didn't see where you mentioned it in you so-called analysis. You need to study the language, do proper verification and thank me later and come out of this your cataclysmic vortex of linguistic doom.
End of discussion!
Johnpaul09(m): 7:49pm On May 17, 2017

You know nothing, and I doubt you are from Anambra. No body from Anambra ( North or Central) call white man Bekee, Bekee is used by Igbos from Imo and Abia and was adopted by those who compiled written Igbo language, in favor of Oyibo used in Anambra and Enugu areas.
Stay off issues you know nothing about.
You can use foul words anyhow to insult yourself, not me. There's no way you can bend the standard Igbo in order to suit yourself. The problem you have is that you don't know anything about languages and their origins. In real Igbo, we say 'ala bekee, nwa bekee, asusu bekee w.d.g.' not ala oyibo, nwa oyibo and asusu oyibo.
There are many other Yoruba words that are widely used in Igbo conversation eg; oga(master), oya (get ready), aso ebi/ndi aso ebi (family cloth - for traditional weddings) etc and after you'll open your vocal cavity to claim that they're Igbo words.
