New Covenant Christian College International, a Pentecostal boarding school in Makurdi, Benue State, is making headlines with an impressive lineup of students who scored over 300 in the 2025 JAMB examinations. Leading the group is Godwin Orzekor with an exceptional score of 368, followed closely by several other high-achieving candidates. But what’s most striking isn’t just the scores, it’s the environment that produced them. NCCCI isn’t your average school. Owned by Rev. Thomas and Dr. Victoria Shikaan, the institution is committed to nurturing both the academic and spiritual lives of its students. With a strong Christian foundation, the school emphasizes moral integrity, spiritual depth, and academic excellence in equal measure. The results speak for themselves. From Chemistry to Commerce, these students have demonstrated mastery and focus—attributes likely honed in a school culture that values discipline, prayer, and hard work. As Nigeria continues to look for models of transformative education, New Covenant Christian College International is showing what’s possible when faith and scholarship go hand in hand. our Telegram Channel /CGWitness
Why didn't YOU do something? You called yourself a Teacher Leader and did NOTHING when a kid in your school was raped repeatedly by the same man. You cannot do NOTHING in the face of injustice and lambaste people who do nothing in the face of injustice. That's HYPOCRISY! I never kept quiet but was left without any choice to leave the matter. To start with, I had a head that was presiding over the issue and was just a subordinate who wasn't expected to overruled his boss decision. Apart from that, the organization that I was working for cautioned me not to interfere in the case as I was just a stranger living in the community in order to secure my life. However, my point is clear, women have been subjected to molestation wether being they small or big from men without the world giving them the justice they deserve. |

A few years ago, a friend of mine told me how a close friend of his dad who doubled as their family friend tried raping his immediate younger sister in her room when the man paid them a visit. In her desperation to survive his firm grip and escape from the he-goat, she gave him an undertakker kind of blow drown from the surging adrenaline at an inappropriate anatomical position, which made her escape. What happened there after? No drastic measures were taken to forestall such an ugly occurrence, but rather the matter was buried in the mould without being blown, at least to shame the man. At my placement community, when I was serving as a teacher leader, one of my kids in primary four was being serially rapped by a man who had daughters older than her. When the matter got noticed by a colleague due to the discomfort the little girl was experiencing, nothing drastic was done, even when, after much back and forth, the man accepted to committing the crime. Why, he is a man, and somehow the universe is designed to shield them. Time and time again there are replicates of such instances where men have acted inappropriately toward the opposite gender without commiserate punishment that will serve as deterrents for others who might have chosen to toll the same path. Today, Natasha Akpoti, a distinguished member of the highest law-making body, is left roaming from one media house to another in search of an ear that will listen to her ordeal in the hands of her predator. With tears and a frustrated soul, she watches as the onlookers abandon her under the claws of a predator, with each laugh from them sending such claws deeper into her skin. In the words of Omotoyosi Idris, 'it is a man's world', but I love one of the Afrian proverbs, which says, 'looking at a casket from afar, one would mistake it for a log of wood until the carrier gets closer'.. Again, until the hawk eating the chicks of another lay its claws on yours, the cry of the mother hen will remain noise to your ears. One thing I know is that Natasha's voice is just one out of many that have been buried. A resurrected voice which soul has refused to died seeking for justice for the injustice it has suffered 3 Likes |

Adjacent my compound were two best friends in one of the most fancied hostels. Home of Amazons, as the hostel was popularly known, was a landmark every student knew back then on campus because of the impeccable beauties it housed. As is normal with the other gender, fleets of cars park outside every night, creating a mini-market-like scenario. As a jambito, I asking my cousin, who was a year ahead of me, what the gathering was, only for him to inform me that it was a market where men came to fish. I never understood what he meant by fishing until I got settled in school. Being an extrovert, I quickly connected with two of the most endearing damsels in the hostel who happened to be friends, Dami and Chika. Chika had a fiance who occasionally visited her in school. As besties most times as they went for outings, Dami tagged along. Their closeness was unique and recommendable. I have never seen two girls live in peace like the two. Most times they wore the clothes of each other and though they were from different ethnic backgrounds, it was hard not to easily conclude that they weren't siblings. Chika a piece of walking art beyond description, vintage and immaculate without any dent, a perfect example of the definition of beauty in her majestic carriage, was a terror to the eyes of any natural man. Most times I would beg her not to smile. When she smiled, her perfect dental array revealed a well-crafted gap between her first two upper incisors, complementary to her warm honey-brown eyes framed by naturally arched, well-groomed brows that enhance their expressiveness, which flutters like whispers of enchantment, leaving an indelible impression on my struggling soul. Dami wasn't an exception either, an ebony, dark beauty in her class with an aura second to none. Her prowess and command of the use of English were so enchanting and made communication with her nearly everlasting. Months turned to years, and the bell of graduation rang, leaving us with just the moments we shared with occasional calls to check on each other. One day, Chika called, and from the other end, I could hear her sobs. Though a fragile lady in her physical looks Chika wasn't one that cried over petty stuff. I quickly asked what the matter was, insinuating maybe she had lost any of her loved ones. She demanded that I check my WhatsApp messages immediately, which I obliged only for me to see the wedding invitation picture of Dami and Obinna Chika's fiance. How come was only the word I struggled to muster. Calls exchanged yet the line was drawn. A blissful friendship exchanged on he slab of betrayal resulting to hate, pains and bitterness. Energies got drained and the once envious friendship became a subject of discuss among acquaintance. A few months after our conversation, she called this time giggling. She played the normal ladies' game of asking me to guess the reason for her happiness, which I told her to how poor I am at guessing. at She had dropped an application letter with one of the multinationals sometime ago, and just a few days ago, she was called to resume work with an outrageous take-home that left my jaws dropped. I congratulated her and cracked some jokes while reminding her to take her faith in God more serious. Dami, against all odds, went ahead to marry Obinna in what was like the latest wedding in town. Obinna, a tech guru from a millionaire family brought the who is who in the town and completely shut the town down. It was a unique, classy, and an envious wedding that was the topic of discussion for months in the town. Though I didn't attend the wedding but somehow my prayers were offered. Just months after the wedding, unknown to Dami Obinna had an insatiable love for things under the skirt. At first, Dami pretended not to be bothered, but for how long? One day, she dared Obinna and confronted him about his escapades. That was the day hell loosed and the chained demon inside Obi finally got its salvation. Dami was beaten to pap. This became the tradition in the house. Unconfirmed news had it that she lost one of her pregnancies to one of the beatings. I pity her, for she kissed tears. Running away is shame, and staying is to her detriment. Yet all through, Karma is never a Bitch. See less |
One of the most annoying ironies of this life is that FOOLS ARE ALWAYS THE FIRST TO CALL OTHER PEOPLE FOOLS. You said, "according to you" while trying to quote me. So, show me exactly where I said that Jews come from Heaven. You are so foolish that you don't even know how to quote someone correctly, yet, you're opening that dirty toilet you call your mouth to call me foolish.[/quot I expected you to manifest your foolishness. I was intentionally being satirical and your dumb as couldn't afford your little sense to decipher. Yes, like I said, according to you they come from nowhere. If you say that Isreal are occupiers then where were they before they come to occupied the land they are presently living on? For a people that have an affinity to a land for over 3000 years. 1 Like |

Ogeni which Operation are Boko Haram facing in Nigeria? Why is it that most Islamic dominant countries have such groups and are always d to terrorism? Why did Hamas carried out that October 7 attack ? And why were all the Muslim faithfuls jubilating at the aftermath of the attack? What has Isreal done to Hezbollah to have warranted them to be sending missiles into Isreal for the past 8months? Death to all terrorists. Death to any idiot that is and would threaten the life of other people on the basis of an ideology ed on to him or her by a dead prophet in the name of having 7 virgins at the end of the day.
