No, during your online registration you will be told which documents to bring along on your exam day...the documents include: post-utme exam schedule, utme result slip and Essay(If you are asked to write an essay which happened last year)

University Full-Time M.Sc. Nanoscience and
Technology for the 2014/2015 Academic Session.
The multi-disciplinary programme which is
available in the Department of Materials Science
and Engineering, has four areas of specialization,
namely:
Nano-medicine
Nano-energy
Nano-genomics
Nanostructured Materials
Introduction
The four (4) semester MSc. Nanoscience and
Technology programme is primarily concerned
with the adequate training of a critical mass of
nanotechnology workforce and experts, for the
next couple of decades, with requisite
interdisciplinary, scientific, engineering and
technological education to tackle emerging
challenges in the areas of science and
engineering, especially in energy, oil and gas, solid
minerals, water purification, electronics,
healthcare,
agriculture, telecommunications, transport,
security and environment, as well as in research
activities for the progress of this new multi-
disciplinaiy technology, in Nigeria.
It is especially designed to provide the required
foundation, skilled manpower, expertise and
specific orientations towards engineering and
technical skills, processes and competencies in
the nano-scale/regime; where most of the major
disciplines converge toward the same building
blocks, principles and tools of investigation.
In addition, the programme will provide
opportunity for retraining and re-orientation for
qualified young scientists, engineers and
professionals already serving in the1
aforementioned industries and the relevant
government agencies, to acquire
requisite expertise and focus in these cutting edge
fields to enable them have comparative
advantage in their job delivery.
Objectives
The specific objectives of the proramme are to:
provide relevant multi-disciplinary education in
Nanotechnology and Structured Materials
designed to meet emerging challenges in the
areas of science and engineering, especially in
energy, oil
and gas, electronics, healthcare, agriculture,
telecommunication, transportation, security and
environment;
Equip graduates with the knowledge and problem
solving skills and techniques to apply concepts in
nanotechnology to solve problems in areas of
critical national development;
Encourage graduates to acquire the knowledge
and competencies in the application of tools,
techniques and procedures in Nanotechnology to
diagnose and treat a wide range of life-
threatening diseases;
Provide opportunities and create conducive
learning environment fin graduates to develop an
appetite and attitude towards research
innovations an creativity in Nanotechnology; and
Provide the skills needed to undertake
independent research projects both in the
industries, agencies and within the University
environment.
Duration of the Programme
The M.Sc degree in Nanoscience and Technology
shall be a FULL-TIME programme with a duration
of four (4) academic semesters. This consists of
an
intensive coursework of two academic semesters
(to be examined in written examinations),
followed by two semesters of supervised thesis/
project research.
Eligible Applicants
Eligible applicants shall include graduates and
graduate professional in industries, government
and non-governmental organizations.
ission Requirements
The general ission requirements are as stated
in Regulations 8, 9 and 10 of Obafemi Awolowo
University’s Regulations Governing Postgraduate
Studies (2005).
A graduate of the Obafemi Awolowo University or
any other approved University with at least a
Second Class Upper Division Bachelor of Science/
Bachelor of Technology (B.Sc/B.Tech) Degree in
any of the Medical Sciences, Pharmacy,
Agriculture, Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences
and Engineering disciplines.
Candidate with Second Class Honours (Lower
Division) in the stated disciplines with at least
two years post NYSC cognate working experience.
Conditions for Conferment of the Degree
Candidates shall fulfill the prescribed course work
and examination requirements as stated in the
Obafemi Awolowo University Regulations
Governing Postgraduate studies, for the award of
the degree of Master of Science.
A unique prerequisite for the conferment of
Master of Science degree in Nanoscience and
Technology is the completion of two semesters of
research, to be examined in an oral examination.
Each candidate is expected to present at least
one Departmental Seminar on his/her Thesis
Project which is to be examined in a final Oral
Examination.

Method of Application
Purchase of application form shall be through
ONLINE ONLY. Candidates can conveniently
complete the application forms and pay online by
following the steps enumerated below:
Step I: Log on to our ission website; http://
apply.oaunetque.com
Step II: Create an online . An email will be
sent to the applicant with additional details
including a system generated .
Step III: With the email and
combination, applicants should sign in and
accurately fill the pages of the application form.
Step IV: Application processing fee of N20,000
(Twenty thousand Naira) only, can be paid using
either ATM/Nigerian Debit Cards on the Obafemi
Awolowo University Postgraduate online
application scratch cards. (Details will be sent via
e.mail).
Step V: Applicants should forward the following
relevant documents in of their
applications:
i.) Photocopy of University Degree Certificate(s)
ii.) Photocopy of NYSC Discharge Certificate
iii.) Photocopy of O’Level Result
(iv.) The original transcript obtained from the
Applicant’s University plus duly completed and
ed Obafemi Awolowo University
Postgraduate College Transcript Label.
The original transcript obtained from the
applicant’s University must be properly addressed

Additional Information

Any candidate currently ed on a
Postgraduate programme in this University and

postgraduate programme without such a
disclosure on the application form and who fails
to duly withdraw from such a current programme

forfeit his studentship under the existing
University Regulation.
