It is not everything you hinge on prayers. It is good to pray, but we pray too much in this country. In fact, we seem to substitute things that require common-sense with prayers.

As it is now, all we need to do is to shine our eyes in 2023 and change this wicked government. Thanks

The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, has given reasons why the President, Major Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), would not sign the new electoral law insisting that the law has not captured the interest of all Nigerians.

He stated this in a phone-in program on Radio Kano while responding to questions on Sunday.

He said the new electoral law has an excessive cost implication, is discriminatory, as well as ive of insecurity adding that g it into law will only initiate a new crisis that will lead to court cases.

“What you should understand about the leadership of the country most especially as it regards President Muhammadu Buhari on any law presented to him for g, the President is entitled to certain rights.

“When you talk about politics he has rights, if you talk about the economy, the business community also have rights on him, if you are talking about 60% of Nigerians that are not politicians, if you talk about the economy he also has rights, if you are talking about security, there is also what is expected from him. The President has to consider laws that are sustainable.

“The job of the President is that of politics, economy, business, security, legislation, politicians and non-politicians. This is because the leadership of the country is not for the politicians alone, it is a leadership that affects the social life of the people, their religion, economy, security and others. This is contrary to the leadership of the legislators which is solely political.

“Therefore, the lawmakers are only concerned about their political inclination while the President is concerned about the entire lives of Nigerians made up of politicians and non-politicians.

He further described the financial burden in the new electoral bill not signed by the president.

“For example, one of the reasons is that there are 18 political parties and a law is founded that will allow for direct primaries. The difference between this and the general election is small because it allows for all Nigerians to come about and say their opinions.

“This means that you will repeat the general elections 18 times. Today INEC requires N305 billion for the 2023 general elections. Now if the general election, which is not the newly proposed electoral system, will cost this much, how much will it cost to do the same election in the APC? It might cost at least N200 billion because it will involve everyone.

“Although the good side of the law is that INEC is required to monitor it. Therefore, if it is assumed that every political party will spend N200 billion, how much will then be spent in conducting the same primary election in 18 political parties just to produce a qualified candidate?

“Let’s assume there are about 60 million politicians in the country, what about the remaining over 160 million Nigerians who have nothing to do with politics? Are you fair to them? All the people want are good projects, good roads from Abuja to Kano, portable drinking water, good education, school feeding programme and the rest of them. Are you fair to the 160 million Nigerians using their wealth just to conduct primary elections to produce a party candidate, despite other demands by the public?

“My answer to this is that, to spend this N305 billion that will be given to the INEC and the about N200 billion to be given to the political parties is not fair to the remaining 160 million Nigerians who have no business about politics and political appointments. Their business is just a better life in Nigeria. This is the issue of cost implications,” Malami said.

Anybody praying for Oyetola to return is out of his mind! He did not win the election that brought him to power in the first tenure and there is no single achievement record for him. Rather, he has been making life hard for the citizens of the state and has more plans to make life harder if he returns.

Many are not seeing what I am seeing. This is a game, a ploy more than Fani Kayode. It is a grand design from Tinubu and Aregbesola and involves the use of powerful charms too. It is a ploy to distract the masses and the populace into thinking that APC is still the best in spite of their collosal failures.

The same happened in Osun State in 2014 when these two political robbers went about bringing different of the opposition into their party to confuse the masses when Aregbesola's failure then was also becoming glaring. It is the same template that is being used on Nigeria!

Of course it has always been Osun Template that has been in play since the All Progressives Congress (APC) assumed power in 2015. The unending borrowing of the federal government is just patterned after that which took place in Osun State when Aregbesola was governor. The same political strategies to win (or rig himself in) his second tenure was employed during the general elections in 2019.

Let's widen our gaze, Nigerians. Aregbesola and Tinubu are great strategists and are ready to trade the souls of Nigerians with the devil just to make Tinubu win 2023 presidential election despite the obvious failures of the party.

Except APC succeeds in rigging itself in in the 2023 presidential election through back-door, there is apparently no way it can win the election. At this point, I want to urge all Nigerians not only to come out en mass to vote their preferred candidate but to also do everything possible to defend their votes. This is the only way to end the impunity, oppression and human rights violations being carried out by the APC-led government all over the country. It is also the only way to end the poverty, suffering, killing, maiming and kidnappings in the land.

God bless every reader and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

In less than a year to the Osun State gubernatorial election, there is no registration exercise for new electorates or validation of the data of existing voters. There is just silence everywhere. This is not normal. This leaves a great suspicion about the plan of the federal and state governments to carry out some mischief during the election...

One of the umbrella bodies of herdsmen in Nigeria, the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, says South-West governors, with their anti-herdsmen stance, are creating problem for the All Progressives Congress Chieftain, Bola Tinubu, and his rumoured presidential ambition in 2023.
Spokesman for the group, Saleh Alhassan, spoke on Wednesday while featuring on PUNCH Online interview programme, The Roundtable.

Of late, nomadic herders in parts of the country, especially in the South-West geopolitical zone, have been accused of tresing on farmlands of host farmers with their cattle. Farm produce worth millions of naira have been destroyed in the last few months. Some herders have also been accused of raping women in host communities, kidnapping the rich and in some cases, killing host residents, amongst other unprintable crimes.

Governors in the zone under the aegis of the South-West Governors’ Forum chaired by Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, have come up with many proposed solutions including prohibition of open grazing, night grazing, under-age grazing, amongst others.

Many leaders in Yorubaland including leader of socio-political group, Afenifere, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, had also said
Tinubu was afraid to speak on the herders crisis because he does not want to jeopardise his 2023 presidential ambition and because he does not want to offend the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).
But the former Lagos State governor broke his silence on the matter on March 13, 2021 in a statement titled, ‘Tinubu’s Statement On The Herder Crisis’.

In the statement made available to The PUNCH, the former Lagos State governor urged state governments to convert unoccupied public lands to ranches for herdsmen .

Reacting to the proposed idea by Tinubu as a way of solving the near-perennial farmers-herders crisis rocking the nation, the Miyetti Allah spokesman lauded the idea but said the country was not yet ready to embrace or implement “progressive solutions”.

Alhassan said, “I sympathise with him (Tinubu) because if he says more than what he is saying, they will say may be he is pushing for his presidential ambition. That is why he takes time before he even respond but I expected him to call all his political godsons —who are governors — that are causing this confusion to order. He should call them and say, ‘Hey, when I become president, I will solve this problem for us’ (and) not to create problem for him, for his ambition.”

When asked whether the farmers-herders crisis could affect the political ambition of Tinubu, Alhassan alleged, “When you have a group of people attacking citizens, does it translate to political love? When you have the supposed Amotekun ing militants to attack traders in Shasha (in Oyo State), burn their properties, does it give a good political value to whoever wants to get from those people?”

He also said the crisis was being exaggerated to score political points, adding that the Fulani herders who are of the same ethnic stock as the President are not enjoying any special preference or benefits from the Buhari regime.

They should not start religious crisis in Kwara if you want your child to wear hijab take her to Ansarudeen Islamic College.

Why would you enroll your child at C & S School and expect them to allow her wear hijab.

That been said, we should learn to be tolerant in this Country, Wearing hijab wouldn't change anything in the school but I understand the fear of the school authority, if they allow hijab now, in the next ten years Muslim will claim to be the owner of the school and they will build mosque and even make attempt to rename the school.

But to be honest why do Muslims like problem so much, their attitude is an antonym of there "religion of peace" slogan.
Why do they like provoking Christians, all the religion crisis in this Country have been ignited by Muslims.
Is Islam still a religion of peace?

It is just an honest question.

Modified; You see what I am saying, some of them are already talking about renaming the school.

If you allow Muslims they will ask for "allowance".
You people are so trouble some.

I have Muslims in my family and I know how trouble some you people can be

Everything I want to say already said above. Let Muslim children attend Muslim schools and Christian children attend mission schools, simple.

This was contained in a statement released on Tuesday and tly signed by the apex bank ’ s Acting Director , Corporate Communications, Osita Nwanisobi ; and Director , Public Affairs , Nigerian Communications Commission , Ikechukwu Adinde .

The statement was titled , ‘ t Statement By Central Bank Of Nigeria and Nigerian Communications Commission On Pricing Of Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD ) Services ’ .

It partly read , “ We are pleased to announce that after comprehensive deliberations on the key issues, a resolution framework acceptable to all parties was agreed thus :
“ Effective March 16, 2021 , USSD services for financial transactions conducted at DMBs (Deposit Money Banks ) and all CBN- licensed institutions will be charged at a flat fee of N 6 . 98 per transaction. Whoever condemns the position of CAN on the use of hijab lacks sense. In the first place, education should be differentiated from religion. Why should we always muddle things up?

Besides, is it a-must for Muslim children to attend Christian-faith schools when there are Muslim-faith schools where they can be sent to practise their religious beliefs? If not that Muslims generally like making troubles, why not Christian children just attend Christian-faith schools while Muslim parents send their children to Muslim schools?

Ifon community chiefs in the Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State say they have been invited to Abuja by the police for allegedly killing a cow belonging to a herdsman identified as Abdullahi , an allegation they described as false .

However , the police have made no arrests for the murder of the town’ s monarch , Olufon of Ifon, Oba Israel Adeusi , who was killed on November 26 , 2020 .

The chiefs stated this in a letter to the Inspector - General of Police , Mohammed Adamu , dated February 19, 2021 , and signed by Olowolafe & Co solicitors on their behalf.

The invited chiefs were identified as Mr Olaniyi Olotu , the Secretary of the Ifon Council of Chiefs ; Chief Olijewu , Saliu Omotosho, Chief Ekon and the Chief Hunter of the community.

According to a previous letter dated February 2 , 2020, and signed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police , Force Intelligence Bureau , Kolo Yusuf , the Ondo chiefs were asked to report to Abuja on March 15, 2021 .

The letter of invitation which is marked 3000/ FIB /STS /FHQ /ABJ / TA/ Vol. 5 / 259 stated that the Ondo chiefs were being probed for attempted kidnapping , mischief and criminal conspiracy.

The letter read in part, “This office is investigating a case of criminal conspiracy, mischief , threat to life and attempted kidnapping that your name featured . You are kindly requested to interview the undersigned officer on March 15, 2021, by 10 . 00hrs for fact -finding through DSP Ibrahim Magu . ”

In their response signed by their lawyer, the Ondo chiefs said they had nothing to do with the killing of cows since it did not happen in their community but a neighbouring town.

They, however, said it was saddening that the police that had not arrested anyone for the murder of their monarch would take the killing of cows more seriously.

The community leaders said the police invitation is an attempt by herdsmen to get back at the community for exposing their murderous ways .

The letter read in part, “ As a prelude to these invitations , one Fulani herdsman called Abdullahi had on January 6 , 2021 , reported at the police station in Ifon that the community killed his cow . It was in the course of police investigating this allegation of killing Abdullahi ’ s cow that our clients’ leaders who are now being invited by the police were first invited .

“ These community leaders denied any involvement in the allegation that the man ’ s cow was killed and also told the police that the place where the alleged killing took place was not part of Ifon land and had nothing to do with them or the community they represent.

“ It came as a surprise that on February 4 , 2021 , these same community leaders were invited again to the police station in Ifon on the same allegations. ”

The Attorney - General of the Federation and Minister of Justice , Abubakar Malami (SAN) , has recommended the creation of a Federal Government agency that will regulate the activities of herdsmen .

Malami said this while delivering his address as a special guest of honour at the Peace , Unity, and Security Lecture Series at the ECOWAS main auditorium , Abuja on Tuesday.

The minister itted that the crisis between the herders and farmers had become a pressing issue and steps were needed to tackle it .

He also said there was a need to revitalise the Nomadic Education Commission.

He stated, “Nigeria is predominately agricultural in nature and by geography. To that extent , there is constant mobility of herders across the different belts of Nigeria. It is perhaps time to consider the setting- up of a commission for pastoralism regulated by law.

“ This might provide recipes for resolving protracted farmer -herder conflicts . The commission may even engage in or facilitate in- depth analytical studies with a view to providing lasting solutions for the benefit of people and the country. ”
He also called for the “ revamping of the activities of the Nomadic Education Commission with a view to complementing the efforts of the government in resolving the farmer- herder clashes. ”

Malami restated the commitment of the Federal Government in ing initiatives and programmes that would help resolve the lingering farmer - herder crises in the country .

The AGF argued that some of the ways for a peaceful Nigeria include strict adherence to the rule of law, respecting the sanctity of the fundamental human rights in all ramifications , including freedom of movement and the right of citizens to stay at whatever part of the country they choose to and other provisions as contained in Chapter 4 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria remain fulcrum for a peaceful society....

Most certainly, it is only criminals that can back up criminals like the governor. So because of cattle rustling, herdsmen should be allowed to bear AK-47 riffles with which they commit crimes and no one cautions them? Shouldn't farmers whose crops are destroyed and they themselves killed and their wives raped also be allowed to bear AK-47 riffles? This is the talk of a sick person!

The Bauchi State Governor , Bala Mohammed , has said Fulani herders carry AK- 47 for self - defence because they are being attacked by cattle rustlers .
He slammed his counterpart in Benue State, Samuel Ortom , over his handling of the farmer - herder clashes which had led to loss of lives .

Mohammed spoke at the closing ceremony of the 2021 Press Week of the Correspondents ’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists , Bauchi State Council on Thursday at the Command Guest House .

The governor in his keynote address on the theme , ‘ The Role of the Media in Promoting Peace in Nigeria , ’ commended journalists in the state for their accurate and balanced reporting and for promoting peace in Nigeria .

He faulted the notice to quit given to Fulani herders in some southern states , particularly Ondo , pointing out that the moves of the “ southern governors are wrong . ”

Mohammed said , “On the herders - farmers clashes , you have seen what our colleagues in the South - West are doing and some of them in South -East. Some of us told them with all modesty and humility – you are wrong .

“ But the person that is most wrong is the Governor of Benue State, my brother and my colleague, Governor (Samuel ) Ortom; he started all these. If you don’ t accommodate other tribes we are also accommodating your people in Bauchi and other places .

“ We have so many Tiv people working and farming in Alkaleri, farming in Tafawa Balewa , farming in Bogoro Local Government Area of Bauchi ; has anyone asked them to go ? We have not , because it is their constitutional rights to be there.

“ We have Yoruba people in Bauchi for over 150 years, even before the birth of Nigeria . Nobody has told them to go ; some of them have risen to become permanent secretaries in Bauchi, Gombe and Borno.

“ And now , the Fulani man is practicing the tradition of trans - human , pastoralism, he has been exposed to the dangers of the forests, the animals, and now , the cattle rustlers , who carry guns, kill him and take away his commonwealth , his cows , he had no option than to carry Ak - 47 and defend himself because the society and the government are not protecting him .

“ It is not his fault , it is the fault of the government and the people ; you don’ t criminalise all of them because in every tribe there are criminals . You should be very sensitive . ”

I don't know if anyone else has observed that our president, General Muhammadu Buhari, hardly ever addresses Nigerians directly anymore, at least, the last two to three years. Everything we hear from the presidency comes through the special assistants. Our president hardly talks directly to us again and he also hardly visits places as was normally done by past presidents of Nigeria.

Hence, I am forced to ask: what's happening and where have we missed it?

Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, on Wednesday, urged his colleagues all over Nigeria to avoid anarchy and uphold the rule of law as well as the right of all Nigerians to reside wherever they choose to live.

The governor in a state broadcast also urged his colleagues to order the arrest of host citizens who issue eviction notices to people of other tribes.

Oyo and Ondo States have been in the eye of the storm lately over security challenges and the moves to check the activities of some herdsmen said to have taken to crime.

A popular Yoruba rights activist, Sunday Adeyemo, well known as Sunday Igboho, had issued a quit notice to herdsmen accused of sundry crimes in the Ibarapa area of Oyo and enforced same.

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State had also said herdsmen must with the state government or vacate the state’s forest reserves.

The two developments had raised dust in recent time with the Presidency saying that the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, ordered the arrest of Igboho. The Presidency also knocked Akeredolu for issuing a vacation order to herdsmen, reiterating that herders have the constitutional right to reside anywhere in Nigeria.

Speaking on Wednesday, the Kaduna State governor said indigenes of the states residing in other parts of the country had reached out to him to lament the hostilities of their host communities in recent times.

He said, “On behalf of the Government of Kaduna State, I call on all Nigerians living in our State to respect law and order and the rights of all citizens to live in peace and security wherever they reside or work. I appeal to my colleagues governing other States in our country to make similar statements, and disavow these attacks and massacres.

“We must avoid anarchy and vigorously promote the rule of law and the right of all citizens to life, liberty and livelihoods wherever they choose to reside. Elected and appointed public leaders across the country must act on their constitutional obligations to protect all citizens, uphold order, and contribute to a climate for peaceful resolution of all issues....

Isn't it obvious that Ogun State handlers as much as the governor are afraid of Buhari? It is unfortunate that they can deny someone who has taken it upon himself to tackle the security crisis in the state because of the fear of the federal government.

Well, they should realise that Buhari will come and go but the outcomes of their slack will remain forever with their people!

MOLOTOVcockTAIL:
NBC as in NIGERIA BOTTLING COMPANY??
Corking and Bottling the truth since 2015!!
Where was this same NBC when Igbos were given quit notice by some illiterate Northerners and it was given excess coverage and airing
Nigeria is finished.
A country where criminal dare devils with cows tres into honest hard-working farmers property and ravage it and the NBC and it's media will tag it HERDERS/FARMERS CLASH.
For the record and to whom it may concern. HERDERS has always been the ones going around the country killing innocent, hapless farmers, pillaging their source of livelihood, raping their wives and daughters etc all over the country.
BANDITS too is a coinage birthed in 2015 to cover the ethnic cleansing currently ongoing all over the country by the same tribe.

Who do expect when you have a herdsmen government?
