C has all the documents from B and wants to do a change of ownership but found out that the system shows the details for A.

It happens that B made a mistake in the chassis number during registration hence the details on the system for the correct chassis number still bears A. Apparently the registration was not complete.

Now C was asked to bring the documents from A as that aligns with the system information.

What can C do if the documents from A cannot be gotten?

C has invested funds in car repairs and upgrades

This is simple matter . This is what I do for a living ...but it most be lagos ed ...cos I like working with state that are on autoreg network

First you need to snap the manufacturer seal on the door of that car . Is black in color ...it contains the chassis or vin number and date of manufacturing of the car .

From there I will extract the vin number to do vin query to ascertain who ed it first . Vin query will cost you money

The second test to be carried is to get the autoreg information ...it will cost you money

The autoreg information will give me details of the real owner of the car as recognised by the autoreg database. With this information I can now put a call to the person to ascertain he sold to Mr B ...thereafter I will put a call to Mr B to ascertain he sold to Mr C...If everything is correct , I will move to the final state

Final stage

All this 3 people involved in this one car ....one of them shoukd ve the correct registration that tallies with the chassis number as recorded by autoreg and vin query result...using the correct vin number.

Common sense can show that if Mr A who is the real first owner of the car ed it correctly...then the autoreg and vin query will return him as the rightful owner ..If Mr B actually bought from him , then Mr A shoukd ve ed the correct document to him...


To solve this problem

Approach Mr B to demand for the correct particulars of the car . All this will be given to him at the point of sale ...if he claimed to return it back to the first owner whom.you called Mr A...then both of you have to call MrA to give you those document cos according to the law he still remains the owner of the car untill proper change of ownership is done ..The change of ownership done with wrong Chasis number is illegal ..We call such registration DAGBO ..Sometimes such registration is not a mistake....is done by criminals to enable them sell a stolen car . By the time the omit one of the characters of the Chasis number ...the autoreg system will recognise it for fresh registration .why some are mistakes ...others are for criminal purpose. Pray your own case is not for criminal purpose . Vin query will reveal all this .

There is another reason why some fraudulent agents omit your chasis number ...is easier to do fresh registration and get it same day or next day ...but in the case of proper change of ownership...some investigation are carried out ..sometimes the first owner are called to ascertain if they authorised the sale of there car . Most times there identity card are needed to authorise change of ownership . Criminals don't like things that waste there time ....Those agent that love to cut corners won't like to waste time to do the proper thing . You will hail them for bringing your job very fast ...but they have succeeded in ruining that car particulars
